Good morning!!!!

Last word I got from Stepdaughter (who's at the hospital) that Suzette may be kept overnight. Not sure why, since a broken ankle is normally an outpatient issue.
I may have to have a chat with the doctor...

Boy, with my stay (in the hospital) a couple months ago, and Suzette's current injury, this is going to be an expensive year for medical bills. Fortunately, as she's full time retired, she's on Medicare A and B
I kinda always wonder when the hospitals see you have good health insurance seems appointments etc. are often...naaa it's just me. ;)

My wife did well with her surgery, now to heal. Little deli & ice cream shop down the road made a delicious roast beef sandwich for me, and a chocolate malt. Yum.

Hope all wives are doing better tonight.
Getting chilly, 48 tonight, 46 tomorrow night.

last minute invite over to nearby relatives so didn't get too much done today other
than wash the car. Had to clean out the back and lay down the rear seats so I could cram all the stuff
I need to take Saturday morning for that post project at church. Have two helpers lined up, both of whom
are better carpenters than I am.
Fitting sliding 12 inch chop saw into small suv is a treat. That truck can't come soon enough.
Plus a Workmate, air tools, air compressor, jig saw, hand tools and supplies. Plus a folding chair for me and a garden kneeler
Cordless blower, yeh, I need a truck.

Enjoying a cup of Jamaican blend coffee. Made it straight this time, no watering down with decaf.
What an improvement. Most of that decaf smells like brown wood chips anyway.

going to buy another Powerball ticket this morning.
How else am I going to buy you all new tractors?

Ken, good advice, thank you. Not sure I can, but will if possible.

Since I don’t need another tractor, could 8 just have the money?

Na, I agree. I’ve even said that to them. When I had the the major heart work up at cardio specialist a few years ago at the conclusion I was asked why I had been sent. I said, “because I have insurance”. He laughed, said I can’t put that down. Went with low resting heart rate.

Yesterday I went in for bloodwork at my Dr office. They asked me what it was for? Their Dr requested it. Already found out my vit D is low.

Have you tried Peet's Decaf Columbian Roast, Drew? I can't tell the difference between it and unleaded, and neither can my coffee fiend friends. Not until they don't get their usual buzz, at least. 🤭 :ROFLMAO: It used to be a local brand, but they've expanded nationwide now.

Our Garden Club had it's first "special interest group (SIG)" Plant-Based meeting today. Since you have to be an official club or part of a club to reserve the room the originators thought a subset of the the organic vegetable gardens would be a good place to start. They had no idea on how many people would be interested. The meeting was an overwhelming success, with just e-mails to the garden club members and a sign on the bulletin board at the barn we had over 50 people attend. I do believe this will be an overwhelming success. Once the group advertises to the entire neighborhood 10 K homes we might be like the Hilton Head Sun City in South Carolina Plant-Based Club that has 600 members.

They speak my food language! Yea!

60F and clear @ 20:30, heading down to 46F for the overnight low.

Another beautiful sunny day, high hit 74.3F.

UPS delivered the Heuchera and Heucherella this morning. They look good and were packed very well.

I went a picked up some new "treasure" first thing after UPS left:

Seems to work fine (electric motor works, spins freely, etc)

Could use the cord replaced though (outer jacketing/insulation is cracked) and one of the tires/wheels seems a little dicey.

Will come in handy when I start on the concrete work on the creek crossing here shortly.

But The Woman and I spent most of the day working on neighbor's project, and made good progress. Still more to do unfortunately.

Also scored an 1 1/2" thick x 40" x 72" solid pine laminated tabletop from another neighbor on the way back home this evening. He had moved out-of-state a couple years ago and was back fixing up the house here, in preparation to put it on the market.

Tabletop looks pretty decent/solid from what I could see (and feel) ... will make a nice top for a workbench. It was pretty heavy.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Morning, chilly today-48 going up to 69-fall is certainly here.
Can't wait for the leaves to fall so I can get into building more trails.
Soon ... ;)

Saw a rabbit yesterday, so fox's did not get them all...
They seem to be making a comeback here, as the habitat to shelter them develops.

RS- nice transformation on the building and you remind me I need to screen some soil for fill.
Thanks.

I was not able to get to screening compost today.

Still need more, so hopefully tomorrow.

Good luck on the trail building ... (y)

Good scores RS. That mixer looks very much like one I got from Northern Tools about 20 years ago. Around $150 as I recall, but it has put many multiples of that in both QuikCrete and mix your own. The drum has rusted but I resist getting rid of it in hopes someday I find way to repair.

   / Good morning!!!! #139,098
RS, does that firewood dry okay wrapped up in plastic?
That wood has been seasoning for several years now. It's pretty dry at this point.

It will get moved down to the pole barn before Sunday when next rains are due, so that it stays dry.

Looks like a nice way to keep it from falling over.
We'll find out I guess ... I sure hope so though ... ;)

Seemed like a relatively cheap and easy way to handle the problem ($20 on Amazon for a 15" x 1000' roll of shrink-wrap, including the two handles)

Good luck with the roof - hope they are able get it finished up before you get any more bad weather ... (y)

Good scores RS.
Thanks.

I was very happy to get both of them.

That mixer looks very much like one I got from Northern Tools about 20 years ago.
Good to know.

Around $150 as I recall, but it has put many multiples of that in both QuikCrete and mix your own.
Having mixed 'crete by hand with a hoe, I suspect I will find it very handy to have ... ;)

The drum has rusted but I resist getting rid of it in hopes someday I find way to repair.
Yeah, should be some way to fix it or source a new drum ...

I noticed today this one has a name/serial number plate on it, need to check that out closer tomorrow.
