64, which is the high of the day...dropping to 37 for the next 2 nights...not as cold as CWB, but plenty cold compared to our last week. Some showers this morning.

Grass grew so much after our big rains that once the sun finally showed its face yesterday and dried the grass, I had to mow until sunset...got all done except the trails.

Eric, thanks for sharing that youtube...very interesting story.

They just said on the local news that today is the "birthday" of the El Camino...1958...such an innovation in its day.

RNG, I'm not building one, but found your description very informative. Thanks.

54F gusty winds mid 50's for high.
Winds howl last night which should of shake lots of leaves from the trees.
Monday already and half of October has slip away...hmmm.

Enjoy the day all.

Half of October gone and no winter forecast yet. Is there lots of snow in your future?

Good morning all, 56 this morning going to 63 with a 40% chance of showers, though it looks like they are past. Got a shower during the night. NWS calling for scattered frost tonight, likely not here as we are on a hill. Hope to get my little bit of daily work done on the pantry today and need to mow sometime. We will see.

Drew, I agree with PJ, he looks like he is having fun. Reminds me of Mr Rodgers, "Won't you be my neighbor."

Eric, Just get a hood ornament and no one will know the difference. Thanks for the story.

Have a great day. Ed

Good morning! 51˚ clear skies heading to 75˚ another perfect day.

I need to get Mom's truck inspected and it will probably need new tires. Dad always got full use + 2 years out of everything.
After several nice calls to the Doctor's office without getting anywhere, I had to get her attention so I called her office and told them to tell the Dr. that I had downloaded the complaint forms from the state and was filling them out and would be mailing them in one hour if the death certificate was not signed. Death certificates must be filed within 10 days after death and she was already at day 14. Within 50 minutes of my call her office apologetically called back to report it was now electronically signed and sent to the state. (And this was on the doctor's day off.) It's good to know the law. Now just waiting for the State to issue them.

I went to bed last night content that my Massey was parked in my rear lawn, just over the tree line, returned by my farmer neighbor with the hiller removed. Must have come off a lot easier than it was for me to get it on... After a food shopping run, I will wash and relube the tractor and put it away with a pat on the hood. My neighbor complains that his ancient JDs brakes are shot, and I know why, he uses the brakes to skid the tractor sideways to straighten out his rows at times. After a day of that, I can see why no brakes. I used them at row end at times, but that's it.
So, having been driven by a real farmer, my Massey can go back under the shed equally content it's a real tractor now.

Will be calling the dealer this morning finding out where the little brother is. I'm sure the holdup is in getting the front diff gasket.
It's an Iseki TF-325 so there are lots of these worldwide.

This afternoon, in the hoped for rain, which will bring in cooler weather, I hope to start cutting the boards for the carryall.

Good Morning!!!! 63F @ 5:45AM. 0% Precip. / 0.00 in. Mostly Sunny. High 83F. Winds light and variable.

I always get an uneasy feeling when I know I'm below a dam, Eric, and get REALLY uncomfortable looking up at a dam wall. Same feeling when I'm using power tools with lots of sharp edges, rock climbing, walking around in a bad part of town, or heading down a very steep incline on a mountain bike. I still do those things, I just don't enjoy it.

It's bad enough losing your dad, Don, without having to put up with careless staff. You'd think it would be different in the medical world, but unfortunately my experience is that it's actually worse. Glad you figured out how to get the ball rolling again, but the sad thing is you shouldn't have had to.

Got my painting done, and finished blasting the old motorcycle wheel. Sure looks nice without all that caked on oil. Didn't get the RT washed, though, so maybe today. But that's not likely, either, as I'm gonna try to head down to the mechanic's and get some more wiring done on the van.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start!
