Dad's tractor still will not start with the battery showing 12.9v. When the ignition is turned on the fuel gauge comes to life showing that it is full of diesel but it does not even attempt to turnover or crank. The last time it was running was in April. I used to have to jiggle the gear shift in neutral sometimes to get it started but that did not work either. I Fixed the wires on the starter a few years ago so that will be the next place I look. After that I'll have to get my tractor over there and pull off the round bale and get the repair shop to haul it in. The problem is Mom does not need a tractor anymore and the repair might end up being more than the tractor is worth. So, The option of doing nothing is also a possibility.

The slime of the okra acts like an egg batter to hold the cornmeal mixture to the okra.
you know, I just knew there was some good reason for that slime, somewhere...

My fireman neighbor is growing a nice patch of them, tall plants, pretty blooms, very attractive, and
they are both eating them and putting them away. I bought some pickled okra at Ace Hardware in the local
food and crafts area, and they were good.

went over with disc harrow to till just one small part I wasn't able to do before, and wound up doing the neighbor's entire farm. Gorgeous day, about 77 out, didn't want to come in,
and my fireman neighbor came over and looked like he really wanted to pull the disc so when I offered he was on it in a minute. He grew up across the street on the family's farm
so he was no stranger to this. That side of the street is spotless.
Bit sore despite some time in the hot tub. All that neck turning for sure hard on my fused neck.

at least I got plenty of pics of him on my tractor. Now to inspect them and see if some are worth posting.
He likes to drive it faster than I do, but that sets up a better dirt flinging/covering action so he's right.
I like 4 Low, he likes 1 High. If I were doing this for a living, I'd go faster.

Don. That 3610 is worth more than you think. Check TractorHouse. Or you have a ripoff for a repair shop. How many hours? If you were closer we'd need to talk.

Do you have a load tester? https://www.menards.com/main/tools-...0206-c-9100.htm?tid=914452578116701216&ipos=1

Check the condition of the battery. A dead cell battery will charge a show good but when placed under load it drops out and falls on its face.
Are you getting power to the starter? Have you tried the screwdriver method. Our 255 Massey won't start with a battery less that 80% with the key but will fire right up with a screwdriver. Alternator won't charge despite being rebuilt. It need some wiring work also.

Next step is pull starter and have it tested. While you're at it take pry bar and spin flywheel.

What he wrote!!
My M4700 had a battery w/ plenty of volts, wouldn't engage the starter. Took it to NAPA for a load test, passed the load test the first time, guy tried it again FAIL, new battery, been running fine for years now.

Thanks for the advice on the battery and starter. I was kind of at a lost and trying to think of what my Dad would try next. He bought the Ford new and the Johndeer from my Wife's grandfather.

Don my uncle passed a few months ago leaving my cousin 22 farm tractors and 2 dozers. She wanted to sell them but several sat for years. His JD 2010 dozer would not start or turn even with a freshly charged battery my next step was to add a jumper box and with the key on a screwdriver. It fired right up. If the motor is free and the file is fairly fresh you should be in good shape. I had another old international would not turn and tapped the starter lightly with a hammer freed it up. I once say my uncle with a tractor in gear just rock it and that freed the starter as well. Good luck. The older they are the easier to get running this is what I have learned especially helping out my cousin, I am no mechanic by any means.

Don, the 9 mph is not the issue, it's the 216 miles Irma wile travel in 1 day. I usually pedal at about 15 mph, but my best day is at 93 mile in 1 day

Good evening all. 60F clear sky calm wind. High temp was a blistering 82F (DP 58F) winds light to moderate and clear sky. Today was a putter day. Went to chapel, pulled the drain vale from the air compressor, drained the tank and freed the petcock. Aired up the golf cart tires, need to check tires on the Volagi.
