Good morning!!!!

Good morning, the temperature is 25°F and going to 28. Wins S 11 mph. Flurries.

I wont be seeing the sun (according to long range forecast) until Christmas Day. If it isn't snow then it is flurries for the next week.

I have some trees at the mouth of the driveway to trim and a couple of small ones I am going to take down. I will do that today.

Other than the trees, I think the rest of today will be an energy conservation day.

Stay safe all

Morning to all;
I don't dislike the snow immensely but this much at one time is a royal pain in the ---.
Plans for today are fairly simple, relax enjoy at least 2 maybe 3 cups of coffee,
a good breakfast, then get the old tractor started up and keep on cleaning up snow.
If my Branson dealer calls run down and get the water pump, some more anti-freeze,
and a new fan belt then replace it and cross my fingers that everything else is OK.

Stay well, get well, be safe, enjoy

Morning all! Temp is up to 6 and heading to 23.
Coffee is all gone and breakfast finished. Looks like just an errand running day today.
Yesterday’s visit at the eye doctor confirmed that my wife has glaucoma in her right eye. Good news is it’s already better with the drops she has been using! If she stays on the drops she should be fine for a long time!
Thanks for the prayers!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

25 and frosty going to 45.

LS, those boxes look great.

and that speaker cabinet looks indestructible, Pop.

I need to get out and do some woodworking...firewood, that is...the woodstove already burned through 3 pallets so need to tackle the 2 big oaks that died this summer...will be the biggest trees I've ever cut down...one will certainly fall across the creek, so thinking of leaving that one a bit longer. Plus the big storm a couple of months ago tore one smaller oak off about 10 feet up, like a tornado does...and a couple of smaller maples. The flash flood of the creek pushed a 90 foot yellow poplar over, but it caught in a big oak, so it still has some roots in the ground. Lots to do, but the ground is so soft, hate to drive the tractor back across the creek into the woods right now.

Seeing your dog pix reminded me of this "dog" back in the woods yesterday...

But I've heard gift cards are fair game for theft. I guess I need to call the post office.

I guess we've all had a problem with USPS, UPS, and FedEx at one time or another, and of course, having worked 5 years long ago in the Post Office, I naturally usually oppose putting cash in the mail. However, my wife put a $50 bill in a Christmas card to West Virginia and it got delivered just fine this week. And I ordered the new TurboTax from Sam's Club, supposed to be here Monday, but FedEx delivered it yesterday.

So the delivery folks do get it right most of the time.

After seeing Roy’s -7° report, I guess 9° ain’t so bad, but forecast was only 18° I thought. Was surprised to see single digit. It did get to 34° yesterday. Calling for 35° today with low of 27°.

Nice speakers. Been years since I made speaker cabinets. How do you measure the performance of the speakers?

Love the bar clamps. I use pipe clamps and the quick grip squeeze bar clamps.

Well than come on up and have blast next p.i.t.a. snowstorm, also all the country cooking you can eat with spirits plus critters to pet :)

I’m not gonna poke that sleeping bear. . But I can handle country cooking. Still can’t convince her to clear snow with her tractor?

Good morning! 65˚F raining slowly. Heading to Mom's with some Christmas Cheer. We are finished with our 14 days self imposed quarantine after the wife's family get-together two weeks ago. It was great to see them, the only time this year, and no one had covid. It was a Shower in a restaurant and this week we now have a new nephew (5 weeks early). Hopefully the preemie will get to come home by Christmas.

After we got out of the restaurant we sprayed our clothes with lysol, washed our hands and faces, swabbed our noses and gargled. (decontaminated)

Ron we too are not seeing the spike of covid cases after Thanksgiving. The numbers are the same before and after - around 150-300 new cases a day in the county.

23 degrees. Living in a camper while i build. Had to run water all nite or the hose would freeze, again.

My wife’s sister sold their house and is now living in a camper, except They just crashed at her moms house for a couple months and parked it along the road. (National lampoons Cousin Eddie). I wonder if he thought to winterized it ??

27F and partly cloudy @ 08:45, heading up to a high of 40F for the day.

Back on a normal day schedule ... for the moment anyways ...

Ventured out across that treacherous driveway of ours and got Menard's and Home Depot orders picked up last night. (Black accent tile very well packed, no damage - looks very nice, product of Spain)

UPS rescheduled delivery for Monday ... the rain/snow showers start tomorrow and continue through Monday ... :confused2:

Smart move fellas ...

I'm sure there will be some feeders that need refilled today.

Other than that, probably try and see if I can get those water supply valves apart ... now that I have some MAPP gas.

Unload van.

Work on bathroom renovation.

I did somehow miss picking up one item (6" wide fiberglass mesh tape) at The Depot that had come in from another order ... so there will be another trip over there at some point.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Looks like we hit the 50s by mid week.

The new ball valves with the sharkbite fittings seem to be fairly good.
My water softner was installed using all sharkbit fittings and a mix of copper and pex tubing with no leaks,
it's been in about 5-6 years now.

No soldering required, just a tubing cutter.

Lou,

Thanks ... good to know ...

I watched a video a while back where PTC fittings were used to replace an old shower valve (copper ---> PEX) ... pretty slick and easy.

Guess I need to get up to speed on this modern technology ...

It's a shame i have to live on site but, it's deep in the woods and no security. It's also a shame that the meth heads stole all the copper out of the new house just down the road.

The home owner is a county cop and my neighbor. Got the guy the next day. Maybe the robber figured the cop wouldn't kill him if he got caught?

For a couple hundred dollars worth of scrap they can do thousands of dollars worth of damage....and the associated delays.

I hate this camper so much i almost hope some crack head makes a mistake.

most rv's aren't well insulated so not so easy staying warm in them.
vs:
pellet stove on toasty warm......
now toasty warm is all good, I could use a little toasty warm.

filled up bird feeders, pretty cold out, driveway snow very crunchy. Took Makita leaf blower
and blew off small amount of Safe Paws ice melt left on walkway back into driveway.

meth heads stole all the copper
that must have been seriously annoying, hope insurance covered it.
Sadly folks under the influence do a lot of stupid and selfish things.

On living in campers and RVs in winter, make sure that no wind gets under the camper. I used straw bales with mine and that helped to keep the floor kinda warm. Not toasty, but not the outside temperature either. I also let the snow pile up along the sides and back and a sheet of plywood across the hitch end to separate the propane tanks from the rest of her.
