You should talk to him about it, maybe he doesn't realise he's irritating some people.

Perhaps the pastor the man tells us about is like you, the sucky guy who pops in to chat on TBN and then disappears for unknown reasons....??? Just got home after spending time with the new lady friend in Flint. Very humid here, have to spray some ornamental trees because the Jap Beetles are beginning to swarm arpund here. Got 1/4" of rain here while I was away. My cats are bugging me terribly because they miss the outdoor time they get when I am home. Catch you all later after I take them out for a while. My post here yesterday was from my Droid, I really detest using it for internet access because of the tiny screen....gotta get me an Ipad....

All that western Virginia and Ohio rain you fellas are getting was here for two weeks and retrograded due to a Bermuda high pressure system, which it's self is drifting away again and the rain will be back our way in a few days. We had 13" in June and already around 4.5 from July 1-3.

Church was ok, I guess he had a couple folks talk to him about last week. I've been pretty busy, so I usually get on here in the am or at night. Humid as heck here, Michigan in the summer!!

I don't know what our rainfall total is, but I have as many hours on my zero turn this year as I did all last year. I was only cuttin every other week, due to the lack of rain, now it must be cut every week, or it looks like a hayfield. And a pretty weedy one!! :")

Well, got about half my field mowed...then the Deere wouldn't shift out of reverse. Found the problem fairly quickly with minor dis-assembly. A pin had backed out of two pieces of linkage.
I used an allen wrench to "shift" into neutral so I could start the tractor, then "shift" into forward so I could get it to the house. After mowing about 2.5 or 3 acres in this heat, that was enough and it was definitely beer time.

Couple of pics....sorry about the abysmal quality, but Blackberrys aren't known for their cameras.

Wow!!! Pics are good, but I've never seen anybody display as many at once as that. Really cool. Looks like you are gonna get some seat time in your new place!! :)

Actually, being a bit wet today was an advantage...less pollen and dust while mowing. The cutter was set at maximum height for a couple reasons. I had no idea what was under that brush and I reckoned a higher cut, then a followup would be easier on the vegetation.
I'll probably be able to use my finish mower after a few cuts with the 'hog.

Yepper, we're pretty happy (well, I am...wifey is one of those "glass is half empty" types).
Great place in rural Vermont. You ever get up this way, we have 5 bedrooms...there will be a place for ya!

Be truthful..the pics suck!
I didn't know I could post that many either...news to me!

Yeah, there will be a lot of seat time, between the finish mowing (2.5-3.0 acres),chipping and monthly field mowing. As with much of the eastern seaboard, we have got a lot of rain and that grass is a'growin'!

Got done weed eating wife mowed grass then the rains came again. Looks like garden variety showers for week ahead then something tropical for next weekend already eleven inches above normal for rainfall here

Got the front yard mowed this morning. Or at least the part right in front of the house between the sheds and the garden. That is close to two acres. I only mow the other five or six acres about three times a year. Right now it is covered in those little white wildflowers anyway. It would be a shame to mow them down as pretty as they are. I used the Husqvarna. The old Yard King is running better, and we just rebuilt the deck on it. But it had three slack tires and I was too lazy to haul out the air compressor.
Before cutting the grass, Margie and I picked peppers. This rain is washing off our dust and the tomato worms are killing us. Even with the worms taking their toll, we are getting more than a shopping bag everyday. Yesterday she did two batches of pepper jelly, today a big pan of poppers.
I didn't have to go to work until three. When I got there the customer had called, saying they were not coming due to bad weather. I wanted to make enough time to make the trip to town worthwhile, so I cut a couple of hours with our new Scag 61". It was my first time using it. [I did the grounds for years, but now I operate a desk.] The controls were as touchy as a backhoe, but it sure covers a lot of ground.
When I got home, we looked for worms in the garden again. We had planted late melons, banana cantaloupes and cukes. There are cantaloupes almost ripe. They are about a week older than the rest. The long melons are about eight inches long and the icebox are the size of a golf ball. But we hadn't seen any baby cukes at all. Then we found two ready to pick. Margie was pretty excited about them. Now she is ready for the melons to get ripe.

Here are a few pepper photos.

Good mornin' folks!

Just poured my second cup of coffee and starting to feel somewhat human.

It's a dreich day here in Scotland this morning (08:17AM currently) and looks set to rain in about an hour or so and probably not stop all day. I'm actually not too upset about that as I had a hayfever attack yesterday evening and my left eye felt like I'd sprayed Quick Start in it - NOT NICE.

Still got a bit of a blocked nose and am sneezing every now and then but it's not near as bad when it's wet out.

Hope everybody is doing OK and will have a good week.

I actually slept pretty decent last night and the night before that actually - I am very happy about this as I know I'll be back to my insomniac self very soon and as such enjoy a good night's sleep when I get it.

I should probably go and clean the car later today but whether I will or not is another question.

The lawn is needing mowed but I no longer look forward to that task since I had to sell my petrol lawnmower and am now using the old 80s Qualcast electric mower. It works alright but uses plastic blades which snap every five minutes. It doesn't care that I'm spending more on a pack of blades every few weeks than I would on a can of fuel for a petrol equivalent!

Yes I know, grumble grumble. I'll get better as the caffeine kicks in.

Not got too much to do today, just the usual pottering about the house then out later on for a short while and back again. Life in penury is a laugh a minute.

I've just read the latest on the Boeing 777 San Francisco crash on Sky News and apparently the co-pilot was in training and had only 3,200 hours experience. From the sounds of things it was the blind leading the blind - a poor pilot training an inexperienced co-pilot. Of course I could be wrong but that's what it looks like to me. Apparently it clipped the sea wall as it was coming in to land and that was what caused it to come down. The question is - why did it clip the wall? If it was landing then it would have been in the control of the pilot(s) and in that case it looks like pilot error for sure.

The black box will reveal more thankfully.

Anyway, I'll go and finish my cup of coffee now.

Have a good day guys,
~Jamie.

67 this morning and drizzling rain this morning. Will get up to low 80s today and only 20 percent chance of showers. Sore from weed eating bank from hades yesterday. Hopefully ground will dry up today so we can go back to work tomorrow. More rain in forecast for Thursday and then watching the tropics. Good morning all

jmurray; The 777 is relatively new to the airline fleets, so NO ONE has much time in *that* aircraft yet. If memory serves, this is the same aircraft thast was recently grounded (worldwide) for battery fires. Maybe something else has issues too.

I think all would do well to wait for the investigation to be complete, before jumping to conclusions.

The 777 has been around since 1995. Battery problems are on Dreamliner 787 model. Problems have been very minor with the 777. Still not good when any plane has a problem.

a happy Monday morning to all. I think I share all of your amazement and thanks that so many folk got out of that plane alive, simply amazing.
In the video it looked like it flipped over, maybe not. Just as our new cars are safer, looks like some good engineering and design here may have saved some lives. Hope so.

hot day today, no rain as expected last night, and less rain now expected, though buppies and toppop always seem to send their water up this way.
off in a couple of hours to see a motorhome, I'm like a little kid before xmas.
