RS - is the bladder suddenly depressurized or has it been doing this for a while, hopefully it will stay pressurized for you.

Not suddenly ... it drifts down over time.

Told the well guy that I try to check it at least once per year, he laughed and said "You're doing better than me ..."

Probably should check it in about a month ... just to see how quickly it's losing pressure.

It's an older Pentair Wellmate WM-9 tank ... one of the ones with the yellowish outside casing. The bladder is replaceable ... but I'm not sure if they are even available at this point.

Did you have to replace the whole pump?

Probably didn't have to ... but I went ahead and replaced both the pump and the motor ... ;)

Chris - sounds like a busy productive day - Walnuts?

The walnut meadow is a small chunk of field that is hard to get to and wet. The farmer stopped farming it and squirrels, I guess, planted black walnuts. Nice stand that somebody 50 years from now will be able to turn into cash if a developer doesn't bulldoze it first.

gosh, I'd better get my long underwear on if I'm moving back there....

just got off phone with another person responding, belatedly, to my apartment wanted ad. He said he couldn't call a month ago since his guest house on his local farm was totally filled
with train sets. Funny how that hobby appeals to folks, he had been President of several colleges, have another good friend with part of his barn taken up by train sets too. I took this fellows contact info down just in case. He stopped renting years ago he was so turned off by problems with tenants. But something in my ad seemed to get his interest. If nothing else, likely made another possible friend.

Jim, very sorry to hear of your family's loss.

Good afternoon, I am late on here, keep thinking I will catch up when the rain arrives, so far there have only been short showers and each time umpteen new pages have been added.

Regarding rural stinks, we are surrounded by dairy farms. There is no finer way to clear the head, morning or night, than to step outside after they have been spreading some ripe manure. :)

Ron, I often see woodpeckers with their tales braced up against a tree trunk, yours looks far more graceful bending the other way.

Ken, I have never tasted eel in a pie, it is more associated with London and adjacent counties. A good pork pie with aspic jelly (gelatin) over the meat is one of my favourite occasional treats. We have a wonderful small shop in town that still makes them by hand Powells Pies

Mostly, good to see you enjoying the new fly rod.
Is it a top of the range rod from Oyster, or one that you could get without selling a kidney ?

Don, your raised bed looks as good as the freshly ploughed soil on my neighbour's field. He was at it well into the night to get it ready before the rain makes it hard going. I guess your neighbours would have something to say if you tried tilling by moonlight.

Stop me if you've heard this story ...
I installed a combination digital/pipe organ at a big mega church in Chino CA about 12 or so years ago. It is located right across Hwy 83 from a long row of cattle farms. I suppose it's fine when the wind is blowing from the west, which it was not the entire time I was there. Literally tens of thousands of cows just across the road. That was nothing short of unpleasant.

68, dry and breezy, sitting on the deck in shorts and sweatshirt and I ain’t hot.
Got grass mowed yesterday and it will need it at least one more time. After I mowed I also filled two small sink holes that developed after the heavy rains the other day. One was a touch up from last year, other was new.
We are going to Front Royal for day trip visit with my son, DIL and their two boys, haven’t seen them since my birthday. Daughter and her son stopped by yesterday for a nice visit, SIL was working.
A lot of activity at the airport, Ospreys, choppers and FA-18 a couple days ago, doing what appeared to be mock bombing runs on the main runway, made several passes and climbed back out with the burners lit.

Tinhack, I didn't recognize one of your tractors, and Googling/tractordata.com didn't help either
what is a Kubota G32XKS? thanks
LOL... You're the first to ask about it. I wondered how long that would take.

It's a Kubota G3200 with some extreme custom mods. I call it my "Kenbota". I made up the XKS to differentiate it from the lawnmower version G3200. ;) I've since removed the grader blade from underneath. I still have a small tiller that runs off a front PTO shaft. I made the frame, FEL and most sheet metal. The hood was extended and the rear fenders are trailer stock. The rear tires are loaded and there's a large 12v battery in the rear. The FEL will lift about 600lbs.
