RNG, the rain came with a price, 4 large house fires from lightning in the surrounding towns.

Drew, I’ll bet as you get better, the time does drag. But you are also a planner, so take advantage of the opportunity.

Any solution to the RV registration?

Have you noticed a solar production fall off due to the hazy air?

Not sure I see our incidence rate posted and the number of active cases changes over time both plus and minus.
A number I would like to see, locally and nationally is the #positive vs #tested rate. I would think that rate would indicate progress or not

The first lightning right before the rain cause a 30 second power outage in the house and the Tempest weather station relies on the wifi signal. I noticed the base light was red when the power came back on and I un-pluged it and re-pluged it to reset it and the light turned green and it started recording the amount of rain. However my stuck in the ground rain gauge measured 1/2" more than the weather station, I must have missed the first 1/2 " of rain. Total 1.3" from the ground gauge and .83" recored on the Tempest weather station. Hmmmm.

Sounds like it's time to get your modem, WiFi router, and weather station on UPSs, Don.

Butte County is just tracking new cases per day, total cases, and total number tested. I suppose you could use that info to derive your measure, but they haven't gone to that yet.

It's a little hard to tell. The system only measures what the loads will take from the panels, so if there's not much load, and there's less load with the lower temperatures under the smoke, the system produces less electricity. That doesn't make sense, because it supposed to be selling any remainder to the utility, which should also qualify as a load. The dropoff, which is about 20%-30& from last week, could be due to smoke, or even to ash on the panels. I might take a look at them today and see how they're doing.

I think I found my Etherenet/network tester. It's basically an adapter for a smart phone, using the phone's screen for the interface. Does continuity tests for broken/crossed wires, but can also monitor network speed, DHCP, and even calculate the length of a cable, or to a break.

It's called a Pockethernet, and it sells for a couple hundred bux. That's less than half what Fluke gets for one that just does the continuity stuff. I'm particularly fond of the color...

I have decided to simply wait until I get to PA and register it there. Two weeks of rule bending, but if I somehow get unlucky and get a ticket for expired registration, I think they give you 30 days to show proof. For sure it will be one of the first things I do when I'm back in PA. My insurance is obviously paid up and I have the new ID card for that.
The tag sticker says September and I hope to be leaving first week in October.

85 degrees in cloudy skies, quiet day here

Congrats on making it thru audit, Roy

Thank you!!
Everybody makes it "through an audit"...just depends on how many findings and if there's enough to result in a suspension of the registration. That is a very rare occasion...but it does happen. A company's system has to be extremely quality management system screwed up to go that far...
I've only seen one company in the last thirty some years in that position

Started figuring on the next project replacing old retaining with 6"x6"x10',PT Home Depot didn't have any post/beam in stock and wasn't sure when the next delivery would arrive, but did say there would be heck of price increase  Stop at another lumber supplier all they had 6"x6"x8' $42.oo each...wall 6'H 10'L I do extra figuring,Mrs. would PT to match the opposite wall.
Soon home made nachos for dinner on the deck along with cold spirit than kick back wait until stars arrive.

Which UPS would you recommend?
Also the RING doorbell camera went off line, but it's back up after going through the reset and setup procedure again.

Before the lightning storm my Instant Pot had a pressure sensor control failure, only 4-5 years old, but probably use 2-4 times a week - it kept heating till the safety valve went off. Picked up a new one from Target today on sale ($79), was getting nervous when I was only down to one with no back-up.

Our county has not mention the flattened curve either they have move the goal post to:
"Incidence rate is the rate of new infections per 100,000 population. The target is to have fewer than 1.1 new case per 100,000 per day."

Our County’s average incidence rate* for the past week is 8.71, above the target of fewer than 1.1.
?

There are lies, d$@& lies, and statistics.

Make one up to suit your needs.

Busy day with dad.
Busy talking genealogy and writing stuff down.
Showed him the drone flights over the farm from last trip, forgot cable then to connect to tv.
Storms this morning. Went to town for lunch and power out all over town.
So we went to another town and ate in a diner. Very good. Half tables being used.
Drove some country roads.
More sit and chat.
Had a couple show up walking that got lost in the park next door. I guess going off trail, crossing barb wire fences didn’t sink in they were going wrong way. They found the deer feeder in our valley and followed the “road” (farm trail) up to the house. They arrived as mail lady was leaving (they now walk dads mail to the porch) and she gave them a ride back over to their car. She knew them.

Some neighbors down road are now riding noisy dirt bikes back the road. Teaching a young kid to ride. We are end of the road. So I wandered out to show them someone is around. Don’t know these people, think they are relatives or friends visiting. We saw them riding in their field earlier when we got back.

Went in picked up pizza for supper.

Dads asleep in his chair now.
