We'll be under a Fire Watch starting tomorrow at 11AM, lasting through Tuesday at the same time. More dry lightning headed our way.:thumbdown: Several fires to the southwest are now nearing the 300,000 acre mark, with very low levels of containment.
This is what passed for "sunny skies" from yesterday's forecast. I think the weather people are finally catching up to the idea that the smoke isn't going away anytime soon.
I think Ron's onto something with his walking idea, Drew. It's low stress, easy to social distance, and you have some beautiful places to go near you.
I wonder if I ever talked as fast, or mumbled as much, as some of the youngsters I've dealt with in the past few months. Perhaps as products of the computer age, they never learned good verbal communication skills. Or my hearing isn't what it used to be?:laughing:

You can always put a lighter load on a pair of 10,000 pound axles, MFW. Doesn't work so good the other way around, though, if you end up with 7,000 pound ones.

Almost a year ago, I received an air quality monitor from the
PurpleAir people, but until yesterday it's been sitting on a shelf. I was moving some cameras around on the pump house anyway yesterday, so I took a few minutes to install it as well. All it needed was an Ethernet cable, a spot under the eves outside, and a place to plug it into 120VAC. Took all of ten minutes to set it up and get it registered, and now I know I have very unhealthy air around me. Most of yesterday is was around 240, and anything over 200 is considered unhealthy for everyone for more than an hour. Thank goodness for all those N95 masks I picked up during the Camp Fire. They really do make a difference!
Broke down and ordered a new box of Ethernet cable, shielded this time, and sold by the same folks that all the rest of the network equipment came from. Also got the shielded RJ45 connectors for the ends. And while I was at it, another network camera to cover the tractor yard. Didn't get up the nerve to go up on the roof and mount the other camera, though. I'm gonna wait on the new cable for that.
The propane conversion kit for the Honda generator also showed up yesterday. I'd like to use the motorcycle lift to work on it, but it's still sitting on the front porch. So today I think I'll pull a bunch of stuff out of the garage and rearrange it so the chip making machines are parked away from the solar power components, and there's room again for the lift. I also need to move the pallet of firewood up near the overhead door since I can't get the
M62 won't fit under that door. That should keep me busy for the rest of the weekend.
