Good morning!!!!

chilly morning, thermometer said 47 in shade in back yard, going up to low 70's today.
Had to turn some heat on in bedroom last night but holding off on house heat as long as I can.
Sunny days heat up the house anyway.

headed off to Garden Club this morning with full bag of birdhouse gourds, which should last about three minutes after
I put them on the giveaway table. Then home to mow some lawn. Powerwashers did great job as usual, house looks an entire shade whiter now.

RNG, my sister got a good laugh about your Mill Valley statement, she just said yes....and she still has no power, still staying at friend's apt in downtown SF until power comes back on.

And to think I sold my Generac stock last year since it hadn't accomplished much....now they are probably working three shifts to keep up.
Read in another thread there were generator thieves, out looking to steal unwatched gens. Nothing like a little adversity to bring out the best and worst...

Eric, that octagon roof looks very cool, have fun with it.

45 degrees this morning, light rain (sure hope we get enough to amount to something) with 22 to 29 mph northerly breeze; just heard the first thunder of the day.

To me the great pleasure of getting older is being able to take hours, days, weeks, or months over something. What would once have been a reckless waste of time is now just slightly foolish.

Eric, you left out years.

Good morning! Colder than Ron this morning at 48˚F and slow roll rain. 50˚F cooler than yesterday afternoon, amazing. Today feels like the first day of Fall staying in the 50s all day.

After only finding one refrigerator to fit all the requirements, and no one had that one on the floor, we decided to move the goalpost and expand our list by requiring only the absolute necessities.
Counter Depth (has to be or pantry door will not open), fingerprint-resistant stainless steel ( to match the rest of the appliances) 20-23 cuFT. 3 bins min for produce, and french door, and on sale during Black Friday event ( which usually starts Nov1.)

RNG how do the LG refrigerators fair in the Consumer Reports, the counter depth ones without the "family hub"?

We cleared the hiking trail to two water crossing and will let the CA pick out which one they want to fund construction and maintain. The rough cut for the main trail is finished and we will wait a week while some of our group travels to Pennsylvania for a Hiking group hiking vacation before we start again on the loop trails and side connecting trails.

I was going to wash the vehicles and mow today but it has to stop raining first.

BEF the best therapy is a project that only you can do and it has to get done.

The overnight low was 8° kind of cold for this time of year. Yesterday was cold and windy, today is supposed to be in the mid 50's with less wind and sunny.

I did get a few things done yesterday. Working on getting the trailer ready for a elk hunt the first of next month. And need to finish a table I'm making for one of the neighbors.

Hope everyone has a good start to the weekend.
CWB.

Good morning!
The temp is 50°F and headed for a high of 64. 10% chance of precipitation.

I don't know what I am going to do today, but to be sure I probably wont do anything until about noon.

Have a good day all

Now I’ve struck fear internationally. At least Don’s on board. Looking has good advice, don’t start till at least noon. These projects I’m doing have been put off for years.

Wife left for an all day boondoggle to PA with a couple friends. Thinking of maybe doing something safe, like removing the rest of this fence. This snowball shrub has grown through the wire. IMG_1774.JPG
2 of 3 posts rotted off on this side of the gate. If I butcher the bush, this will actually be more dangerous than climbing a ladder.

My BH has been off twice.

60°F and rain this morning, dropping through the day to 36° overnight. It had already dropped to 50° by the time I got to work at 07:00.

We got quite a bit of rain last night. Started just after I got home around 5pm, and is supposed to continue until just before noon today. There were a few brief downpours, but mostly it's been a nice, steady rainfall. It's been awhile since we've gotten any appreciable rain here, so it's a welcome event.

No outside stuff yesterday due to the rain, so I spent the evening working on the guitar. Mounted the neck to the body, then started mounting hardware and electronics. Will probably get the electronics all soldered up this weekend, which should make it playable.

Klein assembly.JPG

Truck loads of fill dirt were being dumped behind the barn yesterday evening. Guess I need to get back there this weekend and sort through my pile of railroad ties for the new shooting berm. Going to pick the good ones and let The Wife's cousin come over and get any he might want, then the rest are going in the big hole as fill.

~20F this morning, expected mid 40s today.

I like to get 7hrs of sleep, and as others noted, have to get up to P at least once. In the last few months, I have gone to bed much earlier and been getting 8hrs+, no naps since I am still working.. but sometimes I fall asleep in my easy chair in the evening.. and then wake up and go to bed at bedtime.

My back decided to give me grief for several hours during the night.. even tried stretching, much better this morning..

Stay safe, prayers for those in need.

Drew, I missed it probably, how did the front end alignment turn out? did it fix your shimmy issues?

David, I was wondering if it made sense to lift your backhoe with tractor loader and reposition it on pallet or dolly so you can hook it up easier?

This is strange. The Temp is continuing to drop. It's dropped another 5˚F we are now at 44˚F.

RNG is missing this morning. Hope he is test driving his motorcycle and hasn't been consumed by the power company.

He might have been censored for talking bad about Kaliforinica.

Up to 66 looking like 68-70 later. I’m going to try to get on my little tractor today and do some blade work, I’m not telling Ellen.
She wants to go to Ocean City and check out the Endless Summer Cruise, I would just as soon stay far away. I expect I will lose.
Good day and prayers.

Good Friday Morning. It was 75° at 5 a.m. and "cooler" front arrived about 6 a.m. dropping just over 1" of rain.

The temperature has now dropped to 55° with 20 mph winds and gusting to nearly 30 mph. It may get up to 60° this afternoon which is 35° cooler than yesterday's 95°.

I guess with the high winds, I'll work on some projects in the shop. The big shop has roll up doors on north and south ends so with north winds the doors will stay closed. I need to do a major shop cleanup and to put things away as it seems every horizontal surface has things stacked on them. My bad.

Drew ... I bought Generac stock shortly after their IPO so .... I'm happy.

Hope everyone has an excellent start to the weekend.

Prayers to all.

74°F and .27 inches rain last 24 hours.

Quick trip to town. Breakfast with wife, $5 Friday at Safeway, PO and home.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

nice Garden Club meeting, though I had real problems hearing due to roaring noises in ear, my those ladies do yak.
Presentation today on some small vase arrangements, and when I got there one of the ladies shooed me up to the front row, and said
sit in this chair. ? Well....I was set up, they did gift drawings later and my seat had the blue tape underneath, so I won the nice centerpiece arrangement, for
which the ladies as a group said "for all you do for us". How nice. And all the gourds disappeared too.

I'll have about ten more gourds to take with me next week heading to PA. Something different than me taking them Bertie Co. peanuts.

now off to mow on a very nice cool day. But first I have to pull out about four dead small evergreens, that did not like the one month drought we had earlier this year. Which is why I watered like mad last week. We are way down on moisture though I see some in the forecast.

Jay, how bumpy was the ferry ride?

This first mounting will be a learning experience not to be rushed.

The Nardi backhoe I have also used a PTO pump, David. Once I get the tractor close enough, the first thing I do is mount the pump on the PTO. At that point, I can use the hydraulic controls on the BH to move the boom and stabilizers, and I can lift and tilt the BH enough to get the mounts connected. It's not easy, takes a fair amount of fiddling, and I have to be very careful where I am when anything's moving. You'll take more time the first time, but it won't take as long the next time. Unless, like me, you forget what worked, and what didn't, because you only use the BH every year or two.:confused2:

Boy, tough news for the neighbor when you are called for help and can稚 fix it.

Yeah, really missed my chance to be a hero that night. But that generator was so far gone I don't even think her husband will be able to get it going. She told me is was 10 or 11 years old, and had been a really good one. The one that broke was of similar age, so I don't think she's going to resist getting a newer one, especially since it looks like this outage could go on through Sunday.

Read in another thread there were generator thieves, out looking to steal unwatched gens. Nothing like a little adversity to bring out the best and worst...

Thievery has been a huge problem for those effected by the Camp Fire. They'll come onto a burned out lot and dig up anything they can get their hands on. After the owner puts a trailer on their land so they can get out of the motel or apartment they've been in, thieves will sneak in and steal their generator and whatever else isn't nailed down. The Paradise police force lost most of its members because they couldn't find a place to live, so it's been difficult to do anything about it.

FWIW, I go armed on the property most of the time I'm outside, and always when I go to town...

Good Morning!!!! 63F @ 9:45AM. Abundant sunshine. High 81F. Winds light and variable.
The winds blew pretty good all night, waking me up at about 2AM, and that was about it for the night's rest. I was afraid I might oversleep, but even after I set an alarm, I couldn't nod off again. Too much going on, not the least of which is the blackouts, and then all that needs to be done going forward to be able to deal with them. That's the number one reason behind insomnia, it's somewhat comforting that misery has company I guess.:confused3:

I'll take a peek at the old CR issues a little later today and post what I find, Don. You didn't mention reliability, and for me at least, that would be the #1 fridge criteria.

So sorry Coco met Pepe and it wasn't a friendly encounter, Wng. The only time I ever came close to being skunked was on a dirt bike, and I was just able to stay out of range. The two youngsters behind me weren't so lucky, though.

PG&E should send their managers and decision makers to Texas, Rick, and maybe learn how to run a power grid in the wind?

Speaking of which, the power grid is still down, and the latest apology from PG&E says the lights might stay out until Sunday. Whatever. Gonna be people leaving the grid in droves, now. I'm even reconsidering my decision to remain grid tied, but will start off that way. I can always change my mind later, but it's more difficult going the other way.

termiteDrilling.jpg
The termite man showed up right on time this morning, even called to let me know he was on his way. Been a while since I've seen a drill that big, and it zipped right through the 4-5" of concrete, less than an hour to drill all those holes. He's injecting them now...

TGIF gang!:drink:
