sold the chipper and got that happily on its way, then mowed roadsides and came back and put the grapple on for later
this week.
Time to put my feet up.
Thinking about you Ron, hope you are finding comfort in friends and family.

Checking In:

A hazy, sunny 46ºF for today’s low temp, an overcast 67ºF presently; and I might see temps rise to ~70ºF later this PM. It looks like rain tonight through tomorrow. I finally got around to buying an Olympus TG-6 waterproof/resistant digital point and shoot camera Friday on Amazon. It arrived yesterday. I ordered it via non-Prime Amazon, but apparently the CC# defaulted to Wifey’s Prime account. It has far too many Bells & Whistles, most of which I’ll never use nor even figure out how to operate. :embarrassed:; but I was able how to use the basic features and load a few test pictures on the computers (a <10% success rate through WIFI at this point). 167 pages in the Owner’s manual.:(

RonJH, I’ve been thinking about you. 57 years together is a testament to the bonds of love and commitment. Thanks for checking in. I am happy to see you posting and are active with your family and friends. Hang in there. My ongoing thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

RIT- You have a really nice PV array.. I have a 44 panel 11.88kWp array. We used 295kWh and produced 1300kWh the last billing cycle. Our electric bill for the period was -$174.37. So far this year We have a -$797.47 balance.

BEF & Randy- It reads like you both are continuing to mend.

Drew- I am happy that your chipper/shredder sale went as expected.

Good luck to all of you who are involved with truck purchases.

I hope that everyone is having a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Ron, so sorry to hear about your wife's passing. 57 years is a blessing few of us will have. My prayers are with you. As with everyone who has been having troubles. None of us are getting any younger.

Good afternoon. It's partly cloudy, 83F with 68% humidity. The hurricane in the Atlantic has given me almost three days without rain. We did have a short shower pass about an hour ago, but until then some of the nicest weather of the last three months.

Drew and everyone else on the East Coast get your ducks in a row. This storm is looking like a bad one.

Enjoy the evening all.

A beautiful day today, went to Ellen’s brother’s cookout. Visited with a lot of her family, good folks.
I’m still not walking like I want to be, still have weakness. But I guess I’m improving slowly. Looks like The storm is going to effect the Outer Banks pretty badly, we may get wind and rain.
Hope you guys have good rest of the holiday weekend.
Ron, hang in, one foot in front of the next. BEF, continue to get better.

Larro, good to hear from you, was thinking about you with the storm coming.

I put a deposit on a Ford 150 Friday was reviewing the paperwork yesterday and found a few discrepancies called the salesman and was told that I would get a better price if I financed through Ford than a cash sale. What is going on I remember when cash was better, found out that they get a % from the finance company.

Yep, the world's changing. Like you and Don, I once bought one with the salesman asking that I let him finance it and promise to leave it financed there for 3 months for a better price. So I did.

I understand the weakness in walking. I can stand, turn around, then im ready to sit. Still very weak in the legs.

Im like a toddler at that first able to stand phase, but no coordination to walk but a couple steps then go down. Except i dont want to go down, too old for that part.

Good morning all.

Yesterday I thought I would sharpen the topper blades that had been damaged by the kamikaze rock. Parked the skids of the topper on 4 jacks, got out the breaker bar and put on a 30 mm socket, then went to the tool cabinet to get out my 30 mm spanner (aka wrench) to keep the bolt head from spinning. It wasn't there, not too surprising as it is one of the most common sizes in agricultural use, with 30 mm nuts being used on every gate hinge. Thought I must have left it in the tool bag I carry around with my fencing tools. Nope, neither was it in any of the other places I searched for the rest of the morning. My wife gave me her usual (and generally effective) "think, where did you last have it" speech, but to no avail. :confused3:

After lunch it was time for desperate measures, if only to preserve what was left of my sanity. I was about to sort through the scrap pile to make a temporary spanner, then had second thoughts and went fishing instead :)

Drew, good to hear the equipment you won't be needing is selling so easily. Is there any machinery you wouldn't want to part with, when it comes time for the next move ?

The last place you think about looking for it, that's where it will be

or...why is it the socket size I need is always the one missing?

Is there any machinery you wouldn't want to part with, when it comes time for the next move ?

Eric, oh yes. My 1986 Gravely 8199G, an always faithful and productive machine. And livelier now that I upgraded
to a 23hp Vanguard twin. Hand clutch on the right, exactly like the John Deere B I grew up with.
Not an easy machine for one with bad arthritis but I'll never sell it. It goes in my will to a friend who has other Gravely machinery.
Like having a favorite dog that lives forever.
