Hokie is school mascot VaTech Hokies my team by default father and wife went there my school had no football team

Thanks Jay and Toppop and Thomas
When i was in high school, i stayed a week at Va Tech for some kind of ag leadership program thru 4H. HS kids from all over the country attended. Their football stadium was small back then. Stayed in one of the stone covered dorms above the stadium.

So i can say i went to VA tech, for a week. Lol

2am, home from airport. They delayed flight because of storms in baltimore, so he got in an hr later. I was glad to wait the storm out before leaving.

Rain clouds passed over during the night to help keep the frost away. Now we are in full sun for the rest of the morning.

Hope everyone had fun hypnotising their chickens yesterday. I was wary of reading Jay's post after he'd seen that. I reckon he knows a few tricks on hypnosis and if he's feeling in a mischievous mood, with a few carefully written words he could have us all flapping our arms and clucking Good Morning each time we see a tractor.

LS, if your delivery driver asks Where are the eggs ...

That's the problem, Kyle, PG&E has already been caught diverting funds originally intended for line maintenance, sending them instead to boost shareholder returns. And the gas line that blew up in San Bruno a few years ago got them on probation, and the judge has been leveling more fines on them for their continued lack of maintenance as exposed in the aftermath investigations of the 2017 fires. It really stings the rate payers to know that their neglect in large part responsible for the fires, yet we're going to pay for the fines and lawsuits with higher rates instead of forcing change in the company management to actually address the problems.

Wow, Redneck, I had no idea that it was that bad. What a scandal, and all those people who suffered as a result!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 46° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 62° with mostly cloudy skies. Got a couple projects done yesterday. Then went to neighbors and did some tree trimming. Got use the HF chainsaw. Works very well. Not as powerful as my Stihl. But I did not have pull on a starter cord. Hope to get a couple more small projects done. I am finding I did not write down some of the projects I have to do. But I am finding items purchased over the winter as I walk around shop and barn.

Buckeye, hope you get some sleep everyone gets up.

Check, we enjoyed our visit to HI over 30 years ago. Would like to do it again.

Kyle, did you show the chicken video to your kids?

Phil, you must be getting all my rain, it's dusty here now. And I'm back to watering trees and plants,
so maybe tonight some water will fall. Lot of thunderstorms coming in and around here they just pop up.

But those Texas sized rains can stay in Texas please, a five incher
would flood things here pretty well.
Two inches please. I'd like a nice two incher please.
Have at least a dozen new fruit and nut trees I'm tending and anything less than two inches of rain
means I hand water. Each has a water retention ring around the bottom so I just dump a two gallon
watering can into each one.

However, now that I've done it all manually with my five water cans,
it's time to fire up the water wagon. Time to bring the big guns out, 55 gallons on the roll. And I get to stay seated on
the garden tractor's seat and off my legs. I want to put a second repurposed tractor battery on the wagon so it can pump longer.

Have the new battery cables, waiting to take old battery off Super A to add to it.
parallel serial parallel serial will I ever remember which is which...and I even owned a Radio Shack for five years.
connect the hots to the hots and the nots to the nots.

warm day ahead, 68 already going to 88.
Summer has arrived, and it's the beginning of May.
Have a great weekend everyone.

prayers for all to be healthy or on the mend.

don't forget your sunscreen

Just hit 70, after a low of 68, high around 81 today. Might get a storm, had at least one overnight but only .16 on the meter. My property is dry down a couple of inches.

Still loving the Gator blades!

A little tired from my day trip, but gotta go see mom, clean up the Monte Carlo for a car show and go to some band performance at a VFW That Ellen wants to see, with several of her family.
Good days and prayers guys.

Good morning! a cool 59˚F to remind us it is still spring. After 10" of rain the last week the yard is needing a mow.

One thing that was brought up at the fire meeting yesterday was to remind everyone to clean the dryer vent at least once every two years. Since this house is now 3 years old I went to Home Depot and got their dryer vent cleaning brush kit for $20 with 12' of extensions for a drill. My dryer vents out of the roof. I looked on the roof and the exhaust vent lid was riveted and I did not want to drive back to HD to get screws when I dill them out so I moved the dryer and cleaned from the bottom. I got about a gallon of lint brushed out of the walls of the vent.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Dryer-Vent-Cleaning-Kit-DVBRUSH12K-6HD/205047060
Next time I clean it I'll have to get another kit just for a few more extensions because I think I was about 4' shy of getting all the way to the top.

After the brushing I hooked up my EGO lawn blower to the vent and did a turbo blow while my wife looked at the roof vent and she said some more lint flew out - about a cups worth.

40 ーF and going to 59. Wind NNE 7 mph. Clearing.

daugen, if you connect all the hots together and all the nots together then you have parallel. If with two batteries you connect the first + to the second - then you have series. Parallel you increase the amps but the volts stay the same. Series you double the volts.
That is the way I understand it.

A town run to get my nuts (wheel) retorqued and get some lumber.

Have a good day all

Or just look at how your golf cart batteries are connected to get 48 volts from 6 volt batteries. (or is it 8v batteries?)

65 and sunny going to 83.

BEF, congrats on your son graduating (and the $$ savings that will result).

LS, hope your pup is feeling better.

PJ, sounds like it will be fun to listen to your album.

After taking Coco to vet, we found a new trail to hike on a greenway in Ashland. Too many squirrels...oaks 200 years old...need more predators. Haven't gotten lyme test results yet.

Did maintenance on tractor after we got home. Misplaced the fuel filter housing retainer ring. I had hung it on a nail while I was cleaning the rest with kerosene...something I've never done. So, looked for a half hour in the right places before remembering where I put it...mainly mad at myself, because I've always considered myself pretty well organized. Then a ground hog came up from the bottom of the hill, across the field into the yard...Coco went nuts. Have never had trouble with them burrowing into the fields...they stay in the woods in one of 3 specific areas, so I leave them alone. Coyotes need variety in their diet. :)

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

A drizzly, foggy 50ºF for today’s low, 51ºF presently with conditions unchanged; hopefully later I may see some sun with temperature ~60ºF. Plan for today: Dump Run and putter around making believe I am being productive. I used the air fryer to make spiced tofu last night and wifey and I were impressed with the results.

Eric- Thanks for the laugh. I was pretty impressed with the chicken hypnosis video. I’d like to verify the results, but unfortunately for me all my friends who raised chickens no longer do so.

…. Wow, Redneck, I had no idea that it was that bad. What a scandal, and all those people who suffered as a result!- Check I am happy to read that you had a great vacation, and thanks for the sunset picture. Rather than jail time, the decision makers get raises and stock options. In the end the rate paying consumers pay the imposed fines.

….. At this rate outside work won't get done till August- Phil. I wish your wife safe travels and you survive your week without adult supervision. My lower field has had flowing surface water and the upper part of the property that is not hill is standing surface water since all the snow/ice melt this Spring. It looks like this Year will be a repeat performance as last Year’s saturated ground surface. :(

Drew- I hope you get the opportunity to take it easy this weekend and relax.

Randy- I hope that you and Mom have some quality time today and that you, Ellen, and family have a good time at the VFW.

I hope everyone is having a decent day and weekend so far.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all including pets.

wngsprd, if you have horses then earth pigs (ground hogs) are your enemy.
Best way for a horse to break a leg and unseat the rider is in a ground hog hole.
