Hi guys, took a day away and we went to Elizabeth City and had lunch with Joyce, had sushi grade yellow fin on a wrap with fresh lettuce strips and local tomatoes, not sure where they were local to, but very ripe. Had a nice talk, but found out a friend of mine from school died Wednesday. But still a great time all in all.
Got home about 5 or so.

Beautiful day here,83 and low humidity. In NC it was 88 and humid on the river.

Hypno chicken was hilarious!

Thanks for the prayers and well wishes, let me send them back to you guys, Ron and wife, Buppies, JB, LS and all of you.
Great friends!

Drew, keep us posted on the dating game!

Farm to Table - thats what i had growing up, our farm, our table.. Lol

Now it means $$$$$$

I mean, do other restaurants not get their food from a farm?

No update yet tonight on FIL.

One storm had just gone north of us when i got home. Temps dropped 12° in 20 minutes. So hopped on mower and started on the back that didnt get finished tue, then remowed most of the front as it already needed it. Just as i came in, rain started. Heavy rain is further west right now.

Oldest Son flying in, should land in STL about now.

Buppies, I'll be passing thru hokie land next week. One of my friends who lives right below there was the school mascot 30 some yrs ago. Gooble gooble...

David- I hope your family connection goes as hoped. I try to limit my visits anywhere to 3 days or less for the sake of my hosts.

Never know what life will throw at you.- BEF My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Buppies- Good luck with the PT.

RonJH- Awesome video. What works for chickens may work for humanoids. I could see myself getting in trouble. face planted in the garden. Hopefully Wifey would see something out of the ordinary.

Rick- Thanks for sharing the low water crossing pic. I can easily imagine this in CR, but not in the CONUS.

6.5 " last 24 hours and heading your way Kyle and the Rick. The worst was south of here toward Austin.

There were about 50 people at the Fire Wise meeting this morning. It was too wet to clear brush but we got a good powerpoint presentation on ember control/prevention.

I joined the sub committee that clears out underbrush in the common areas that would be a threat to houses in the event of a brush fire. They meet once a week for a few hours, (no mandatory attendance, come when you can) there are about 30 in this brush clearing committee. It is a volunteer group of the Emergency Management Committee so no club to join.

Mostly: Sustainable Forestry & Ecology | Firewise Landscapes
It's a fire prevention program that entails an area that has up to 2500 homes. Sun City has 4 Fire Wise areas.

It basically does what RNG did around his property to stop wild fires from damaging homes.

It also allows us to put up signs that we are a FireWise community.
