".... Riding in the back of a pickup truck was great fun, made even better if there was beer involved."- Bill. Econovans were popular here as well as psychoactive consumables to go along with the liquid intoxicants.

"... Now there are laws to keep us safe; back then we used common sense. But common sense isn't so common anymore, so I guess we have to rely on the gummint to do the thinking for us?"- RNG

The hydrogen sulfide gas generator that I set up to vent fart gas from the chem lab into the physics class next door was seen as a big joke back then. Nowadays I would be accused for the manufacture and use of a weapon of mass destruction and probably making a whole new set of longterm friends in some "Big House."

I hope everyone is having a decent weekend.

A couple of frequent fliers here who have been on the mend have been quiet. I hope they are all busy with + stuff.

Wow. You won the lottery!

You are brave to handle a kitten's toes.

Back from aunt's. New battery from Rural King got mower running. Plus playing with dogs and quick check of gator and tractor. Then playing with dogs some more. Good 60° afternoon. 🤠

Good evening all. 59F for the start, partly cloudy sky, light wind. Wind picked up, sly became more cloudy as thunderstorm went north and south of me, and high temp was 81F. Chapel to start, make breakfast for wife, then energy conservation mode. Wind slowed some and thought about a boat ride, but too close to dinner :)
RNG hope you were able to check on neighbors and all was ok.
Hope those who did not check in were busy being productive or having fun,
Prayers for all

54 going to 64 and some rain later.

Had a good day in bracketology world yesterday. Still alive in all matchups and ranked 142 thousandth out of 1.2 million players on Yahoo...don't think I'll win the $1 million prize, but at least I know someone who's gonna win the Yanmar. :)

Apart from a bit of a breeze it is a very pleasant morning here and set to stay sunny all day long. The hedgerows and fields are responding well to all this extra daylight, fresh green growth is everywhere, field gateways are drying up and at this rate winter mud will soon be a distant memory.

But common sense isn't so common anymore, so I guess we have to rely on the gummint to do the thinking for us?

 That's a scary thought if your government is anything like ours.

Good morning. 40 now (that was lucky to be a high a few weeks ago), going to near 50. Supposed to be a decent week, but going to be traveling to do training. At least weather in central IA looks to be decent.

Yesterday was nice, made a lot of progress on the cargo trailer to toy hauler/ghetto camper. Got the roof insulated, roof vent area framed, and some furring strips installed. Even sketched out a simpler to build kitchen area.

My internet has been out for almost a week. Getting by with phone hotspot. This is the 6th time in 10 months the new service has been out for multiple days. Service non-provider (I call them worse), has no idea when it will be fixed.

Well, need to get ready to head to the airport, everyone have a safe and good day

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 27° with bright 1/2 moon this morning. Heading to 43° with partly sunny skies. Sure was a nice day yesterday. Wish today was going to be as nice. Need to start moving equipment around in barns so I can get at them when needed. Biggest to move a 100 tiles my neighbor gave last fall. Sure wish I had him put them on a pallet. I will make that happen today. The big decision is, do I take snow plow off tractor? :anyone:

Rick, nice tractor cleanup pictures.

David, hope your parts come in soon.

Payers for all those in need.

Good Morning All.

Good morning all. 47F and cloudy right now, headed for a high of 51 around noon and then falling back as showers arrive in pm. Going to bring home some firewood this morning. Have a great start to the week.

   / Good morning!!!! #91,176
a warm 56 going up to 76 this afternoon, with rain coming in after lunch
and thunderstorms this afternoon and more rain tonight.
Definitely don't need this rain.

Only thing on my list for today is planting a small box of blue potatoes.
TSC now stocks them, even better deal than Lowes.
hope you all have a great day.

49-63 today, rain tonight, cooler tomorrow. Spring is slowly taking charge.

   / Good morning!!!! #91,178
A cloudy 29ºF for today's low, 35ºF and still cloudy presently, today's high temperature ~40ºF with increasing sunshine as the high pressure cold front moves in. I am starting to see some bare ground around some trees is the open area. Tomorrow's return of cold weather will freeze everything up again. Dry weather into the weekend here with rain late weekend. Something got the neuropathy going last night:(; no apparent triggers. I meet the Grand Inquisitor and have my first PT session late morning and then lunch at a decent diner on the way home.

I hope that everyone has a decent start to the week and all plans for today are accomplished w/o pain or injury.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayer.

Talk about stunts 'back then'.

Wiring up a model T coil to a door knob, or worst to the men's urinal.
Ski jouring (on skis and towed by car on a side street) and ducking mail boxes.
Towing a rider on a flying saucer with a car on a frozen lake at 30/40 MPH.
"SCUBA" diving using a hose attached to a balloon.
OH, and barefoot water skiing, or hanging from a kite on water skis doing 30/40 MPH at 100 ft in the air.
Must add crashing an aircraft twice and still here to talk about it.

And surviving all those stunts!
(won't mention tractor 'incidents')

Good morning! 69˚F a cold front will hit at 9AM and drop temps to 71˚F during our opening trail ribbon cutting. The trail junctions will have a hiking club members to direct the crowds, it should be a good day, with live music and refreshments. Several 6 mile organized hikes are scheduled to start in an hour so they will be at the ribbon cutting and other organized hikes at different distances are schedule though out the day after the ribbon cutting. The trail ribbon cutting is at the same time as the new amenity center has it's open house so we are expecting hundreds of people. This was the trail that was being worked on when I joined back in November.

The Plant sale went well Saturday with hundreds of buyers buying wagon loads of plants and 90 volunteers making sure everything went smoothly. After the sale it took just one hour to remove all the tents and return all the tables. Even though there was a 90% chance of rain it never made it.

One week away from the great tractor give-a-way. I'm looking for my diesel cans.
