Thanks Ted for the kind words. Nice visit to Food Pantry this morning, was warmly greeted by volunteers, very impressive operation, though full of paperwork, each month clients have to bring proof of income and proof of expenses to qualify, seems a bit onerous...but apparently some big donators like the supermarkets don't want their food getting gamed, since they donate a lot of nice stuff and not just end of the line. And boy were the supermarket veggies sad looking, no wonder they are excited about what I was bringing in.

Came home, changed, hoed the rows where the pak choy was, and planted a pound of white onions I picked up at Ace Hardware. $1.99 for this pound bag of onions, must have been a hundred little guys in there. So about 200 Texas sweets, maybe some cippolini if they actually keep growing, and now some white sweet onions. I also found a tiny bit left of red creole onion seeds, maybe the second time around they will grow. Everything was pretty wet, so I bagged it until tomorrow. Tomorrow I re-till the corn rows again and plant the rest of the corn.

Have bills to pay, taxes to send in, then maybe a nap. I was going to wash the truck and car and got lazy.

There won稚 be any TV antennae, diamond in the back, dingle balls, 13 wheels, blackout windows, 28 rimz, etc...

I am relieved to read that. I see some pretty tasteless pimp jobs down in the CT River Valley cities. I/We try to avoid those areas; especially now that there will be a casino down in Springfield. There will be all kinds of pimped out cars down there then . My wife worked down there for 30 years; a long daily commute.

Farmer- I hope these tubes stay put this time.

It snowed here all day and finally accumulated to ~.5".

A pretty boring day here. I should find my old pedometer and track my "mileage" with all the walks of the hike/walk-able perimeter with the dog. The exercise is not hurting me......

Screens up. Birds not happy. Had to do it after all these years.
My dump is free. No license check or anything. Takes everything except hazardous materials and appliances. Landfill takes those. I usually try and sort the garbage before I make a dump run. They take unsorted too. Good hours. Never really busy.
Hope all are doing well. Tomorrow will be a great day. Enjoy the sunset.

Good evening all. 44F this morning, clear sky, light wind. Wind stayed light today, sky stayed clear, and high temp was 71F. Started getting ready to rebuild two parts to the boat interior, making detail sketches, and after wife's nap we took boat over for leak testing. Good news and bad news, the good news is the work already done did not leak, bad news, the splash well support leaks like a sieve :mad::thumbdown: . Back to the dealer! I am hopeful they can repair w/o motor removal. Wife wants to hire carpenter to do interior repair, we talk to him tomorrow. Now back to replacing golf cart.

Wow. Took awhile to catch up with everybody. I have been busy working on a rental, got the tenant moved in last week, seems like a good deal, a older couple, more stable.
We don’t really have recycling program here, Walmart takes some stuff, and my wife saves some for a friend that recycles at her business. The paid pickup cost about $17 per month, only one can allowed. The township has a recycling day once a year for paint, tires and furniture. I have a neighbor that is very friendly with everybody. I helped him get a large couch to the road, I told him they would never take it. He just smiled. The garbage guys rolled up, took the couch, made the truck eat it, waved and went on their way. It turns out, he is on a first name basis with guy,and gives him a nice Christmas present every year....

Took advantage of a break in the rain, loaded up my truck, mostly cardboard and took it to the transfer station. Only a light sprinkle while unloading.

I guess I don't see the point in heart calcium testing then. Seems like it only detects hardened plaque, but it's the soft stuff you worry about? And is there a link between high blood pressure and arterial plaque? So confused...:confused2:
The soft stuff causes sudden death the hard stuff causes slow death. Before the hard stuff there is always soft stuff that gradually gets hard. And accumulates. My brother took the test and his result were bad. He had several years that he could have tried to reverse his heart disease by diet and statins. He followed the advice of his cardiologist to eat less red meat, and that's about all he did. That cardiologist had not researched the available data and neither did my brother. About three years after he had a really bad score he was up to 95% blockage in three of his arteries. He complained of flue like symptoms and that was his last night.

RNG if you use the data to give you incentive to go all the way to try to reverse your disease and stop growing soft plaque, let the soft plaque harden, and not accumulate you then have control over your disease. Otherwise stents and bypass are next. It is very hard for people to do because by eating cholesterol and fats that irritate the linning of your arteries you feel no pain while eating or after and eating that type of food is enjoyable. The calcium test detects the heart disease long before you fail a stress test and once you fail the stress test it's too late you will be given the scare talk by your cardiologist and will have stents or bypasses.

Heart disease is a food related disease. Is there anyone that does not believe this? Every person has hereditary differences and their body reacts to food differently. Kyle and I are on the extremes, of course I'm on the wrong end and must compensate by strict diet. Heart disease is the nations #1 killer so there are lots of people on the wrong end.

Last cold morning here before the big warmup.
Going to be busy today planting the rest of the corn, first must re-till the row tops.

38 degrees going to low sixties today, seventies and 80's later this week.
And yeah, the lawn now needs mowing. Job security.

Mostly, any new pics of the boat? That sounds like a wonderful project, when in doubt, put in another bilge pump...

Isn't it time for some more pictures of ducks, chickens and lambs?

32 going to 62 and sunny.

Don, thanks for being a good advocate, a well educated researcher, and for reminding us.

Yesterday's cold morning got me in the mood to cut, split and stack firewood on a pallet. I have one more load to split today. Also dug another FEL bucket load of sand from the creek and filled 3 holes - 2 where I had dug out big rocks, and the other where animals had dug out a huge yellow jacket ground nest. I put 5 shovels of sand and dirt into the hornet hole.

Wife comes home today from a few days in NC where she has taken her dad for a procedure.

Randy, are you sure you don't want fuzzy dice on the Monte C to match those on your tractor? :)

Drinking second cup of coffee. 33° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 55° with AM snow. Got nothing done yesterday. Had upset stomach all day. Feel good today. Most of snow is gone. But maybe some fresh stuff this morning. Wednesday is garbage day. Need to get the 100 gallon tote out front. Off to PT. Then try to do yesterday projects.

Randy, that car need some color. PINK fluffy dice should do it. :D

Riptide, getting away form each other is good for both of you. My wife thinks better when I leave her for awhile. New list. :D But she does not physical problems so most problems are easy to fix by being her mouth piece on the phone.

LS, keep up the recovery.

Farmer, hope son does well with new tubes.

Prayers for all in need.

Good Morning All.
