Poured first cup of coffee. 8ー with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 18ー with cloudy skies. 27ー warmer from yesterdays low. Almost like winter. Added intake pipe rework on my to do list. Going to have to get a lot warmer and about a foot of snow to melt off roof before that will happen. Furnace is currently using inside house air for combustion. A little noisy but works OK.
When it warms up a little today will work on assembly of chipper. No rush to get it completed. Surprised that hydraulic oil is only rated for use down to 30 degrees. Plus WoodMaxx recommend that it's best not to chip in temperatures below freezing. Too hard on the chipper blades. Must be a CYA note in case one breaks.
Need clean walkways of 1" of snow that fell last night.
Randy, glad your meeting went well.
Buckeye, keep on resting and getting good doctor reports.
Riptides and others, prayers sent.
Good Morning All.

I believe what they are concerned about is pitch pockets that are frozen, they are about like hitting rocks.
Hit a good size frozen pitch pocket with a chainsaw and you'll need to resharpen the chain.

Went by Barns and Nobel this morning. I was surprised to see 10 different vegan/vegetarian/plant based magazines but only one Instant Pot magazine, I thought I was in California for a minute.

Got 6 pieces of scrap cut and glued up and they equal 180 degrees!!! If each cut is 1/4 of a degree off then it would have been 3 degrees off so I am pleased. Still have some work to do getting everything set up but am heading in the right direction.

LouNY, Don't know what causes it but even wood without pitch in them will dull a chainsaw faster than non- frozen wood.

Have a wonderful evening. Ed

I’m glad your wife is willing, it’s bad when you know they need to see the doctor and won’t go.

Very true she is thick headed I almost needed to threaten her, actually think I did . Thankfully the Dr thinks it may have been a one time event for her, most likely caused by to much caffeine. He did order a few tests for her after the first of the year and told her basically what I said " cut down on coffee, cigarettes and try to lose a few pounds. All in all I am breathing a sigh of relief.

Yes, I know. When I was having my HA I could not wrap my mind around what was happening until about two days after placement of the emergency stent.
Yes she should know better, as a nurse, paramedic worked in the emergency room and my HA which I'll be celebrating my 17 year anniversary next week. 3 stents still holding there own.

North Carolina’s governor has signed an emergency declaration to allow heating fuel to be more easily distributed during a bitter cold snap.

I couldn't find any more info on this and have no idea what this means.
Perhaps i shouldn't order a refill on my farm diesel tank right now...

Time to light the fireplace, hopefully read a book and fall asleep by the fire.
well, that's the plan...

Usually when they do that two things happen. Atleast around here.

Fuel prices get a short term lock or atleast large increases get a serious investigation by Attorney General. You better be able to justify that quarter/dollar a gallon hike.

Hours of service for the trucking industry get some modifications. I think they are still limited to their 70 hours/week but instead of 70 hours on duty they get 70 hours of driving. Or something like that.

Apple slowed down the old Iphones (to save the batteries they say)...wink wink, nod nod. While latest Iphone sales are slower than expected. This right here would make me reconsider another brand. Our gen2 Ipad is getting so slow, such that the kids don't even want to play on it.

I’ve got a Samsung Galaxy 5. I installed a new OEM battery in it back in July and that corrected short battery life issues but, the phone has always operated fine. After the last software update, it started working much slower. May not just be an Apple issue. Anyone else, with older Samsung phones, seeing this problem?

I have the SE iPhone and my wife has an older 5s iPhone . Her's is slow and she borrows mine. Are they planning on fixing this?

Was the SE before or after the 6.

The SE is a successor to the 5s. Even though it was released after the 6s. Her phone may need a new battery. You can check the battery by looking in settings. Under the battery settings turn off the low battery setting to see if that helps.
