40 high of 67 today 70s tomorrow

Fall colors very subdued this year due to dry weather. Looks like next week some really cold air on tap especially by Wednesday where in far Southwest Va the snow word appears

Wife's sister is here visiting from West Virginia and mentioned the same thing about the Fall colors.

Good morning! 45˚ heading to 80˚. Mowed the yard yesterday and created a big dust storm. I had to wear goggles. Wind will start from the South again and we will warm up.
Ron do you remember how to live in the cold?

That is unfortunate, Buppies, because Fall leaves are a major source of eye candy for us. Fortunately, at our cottage the leaves were fabulous this Thanksgiving.

I sure hope so. Since I have been getting my shots every 2 weeks. I notice that I do not have cold feet like I had for years. Wife is the one that is going to have problems. She wears a sweater in 80° temperatures.

Sounds like the thermostat wars will commence. Hope you like 80˚. :D
Just send her down to my Mom's for the Winter.

What kind of shots keep feet warm?

I can sympathize with you, Ron. When we're sitting in the living room, my wife is sitting on the sofa under a blanket and I'm sitting right under the ceiling fan in shorts and a t-shirt. Our HVAC thermostat stays on 76 degrees, 24/7 year round. I do like the dual A/C system in our Ford Escape because we can not only have the temperature set differently for her side of the car, we can actually have it blowing hot air on her side and cold air on my side.

Bird, I noticed in my wife’s edge and my Suburban, the drivers side is set to 72 with my key, and 76 with hers. Hers has that push button start so if she gets in her car before I do it sets to 76 and I have to turn it down.
Buppies, I saw that hint of a storm next week on a local blog, hope it’s not too wet.

Success! the tires fit. I think I picked up an inch of diameter on the rears, but there was a huge amount of clearance there. Not so on the fronts, but my half inch clearance was there.
They will go on last plus I have to paint the wheels. New rears tread almost an inch thick, twice that of old tires. At least the old ones were worn in the center so he did keep enough air in them.
Bridgestone made some great tractor turf tires, the Pillow series, but their prices are really high. These titans are made in the USA too.

Now that I know the tires fit, I'm off to the Massey dealer to give them the old rears that they can give to someone. Plus I want to pick up one can of each color of the oem rattle paint.I can only imagine what it will cost. 15 bucks? 12 at the very cheapest....

43°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 73° today.

New Amp Day yesterday! My new guitar amp arrived intact while I was at work. Wife cooked some delicious ribeyes, broccoli, and new potatoes for dinner, we ate, cleaned up, and I retired to the bedroom to play with my new toy ... er, tool, I meant to say. I like it quite a bit so far.

Another good accomplishment happened yesterday as the boy finally got his old beater F150 running. It's been sitting in the driveway in front of the garage door for about a month while him and a friend chased down a fuel issue. They've replaced both tanks, pump, and lines, and just after I crawled into bed last night, I heard it fire up. It'll be good to get the driveway back, and his Mom won't have to play taxi anymore.

The low this morning was 30*, yesterday's high was 66*. Today's is going back into the 60's and sunny.

It was nice to look out the window and see a doe feeding this morning. She is all by herself. We have had a doe and fawns coming in at night for the last little while.

Going to look at the outlets in the garage and see if I can find anything wrong with them. That would cause them to burn out the block heater in the tractor. Also check the timer and the extension cords.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Thomas as my mother used to say we should all take time to smell the roses
AMEN to what your mother said, but sometimes takes a good kick in the back pockets to realize it.

Same thing here, I'm hot she's cold.

We started the thermostat wars earlier this year. I'm quite comfortable at a consistent 73°F. She, however, seems to prefer wide swings in the settings. She gets hot, She'll turn it down to 68°. She gets cold, it goes up to 76°. No happy medium. Her Kia Sorento has dual zones in the front. It also has heated and cooled driver's seat, and heated front passenger seat. My Soul, though, only has one common system, and she's never happy with it regardless of where it's set. :confused3:

66°F and another .12 inches rain since midnight.

Started another round of mowing, but short lived. Seems a nylok nut managed to go missing from a bolt (M16x80) holding one of the hammers. As it was the very end and from my experience installed backwards, instead of falling out the bolt wore agains the flail housing until short enough to slip from the hangar. Quite a noise. Had to cut bolt to remove. Able to find replacement at Fastenal in town. Raining when I got home so 1st task this morning.

Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 10:00AM. 0% Precip. / 0.00 in. Sunny. High 79F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Thanks for mentioning that bolt, David. Time to give my flail mower hammer bolts an inspection!

Dr. appointment and errands in town this afternoon, but first have to pack all the electrical tools and supplies back into the truck so I can continue working on the van at the mechanic's. Looking forward to see the progress made on the engine, but not optimistic there's been much.

Happy Hump Day!

Husky 372xp reassembled, even fixed the screwed up fuel line routing.

Runs good, strong saw.

Now just have to see how bad it leaks oil.
