filled up the truck today for 2.33 for regular; nice gas has come back down.

Not feeling real well. Toppop's misadventures are contagious.
There was mud on bottom of the three point carryall I bought from TSC this morning, so I squirted it off.
Should have let it dry. Picked this 100 pound awkward piece of welded steel up, actually dragging it off the tailgate, when my hands slipped on
the wet steel, the thing dropped to the ground, and one of the two pieces shaped like pallet forks smacked me right in the side of the face going down. Knocked my glasses off, and I stood there stunned with my hand on my head wondering how bad it was. Made quite a bang bouncing off my head but only a red spot there now and no blood. I got lucky, though considering that I already had a molar gone bad, dentist tomorrow, likely root canal, so my jaw already felt swollen, already on tramadol for a lot of pain, so nothing like a little love tap thankfully with the flat end of that steel. I should have waited and gotten help. Or simply pushed it off; have to repaint it anyway. Took a licking and kept on ticking.
Toppop and I are tough. It's our coordination we need to work on...;)

Watered again today for several hours. .7 rain wasn't enough.

Good evening all, 65 degrees and light rain falling.
Drew I hope you and toppop are not starting a trend I need to climb a ladder tomorrow!!,
Toppop glad to hear your healing and Drew be thankful for a hard head. lol
Thank you all for the well wishes for Bella yes she was a good girl, had 2 litters and each of my daughters Begged to keep one male from each litter, junior with the floppy ear then Bentley the runt of the litter. Needless to say they were spoiled and babied during the impressionable first years so In order not to get myself into the doghouse I never was able to do much obedience training with them because everything I did went south as soon as the girls (and my wife) were around. I just have 2 of the most lovable knuckle Shepard's ever, I call them dumb and dumber. I then imported Wido male who sits when told, comes when called and never goes any further than 10 feet away unless he is told it's ok. I studded Wido and took the pick of the litter male instead of a fee I had a home for him and would have made out better than a stud fee, but my son was hired for a police Dept and was heading out for the academy and planed on taking "Jeter" with him so we kept the puppy. Well I should have known better my daughter gets married and Bentley is still here, my son couldn't find an apartment in the city he is working that would take a dog so now I am the proud owner of 4 male Shepard's.

You need to get what they call a "tractor" with "pallet forks" :)

The temp when I got up at 6 this morning in Moonbeam, ON was a hearty 30F. Google earth Moonbeam and you will find out where I was. Not much of a town, about 1,000 people live there. The Trans Canada Highway (Hwy 11) goes right through on the southern edge.

I bought a 3 point hitch pallet forks and dirt scoop today, $100 for both! Both are average condition and function perfectly.

Not sure how it broke. For mower to do it. A rock would have to ricochet off another rock. It was just small hole. I put Gorilla tape on it when I first saw it. When I cleaned windows last month. It started cracking in all directions.
Got 1.35” of rain today. How did much did you get?

Probably about the same. It rained pretty much all day in Howell, let up about 3. I changed the oil, and filters on the bota tonight, need to get ready for winter.

OUCH Drew...Sounds like you got a left hook from that iron.

Took daughter and her friend to a Faith on the Field Christian fellowship at our local stadium tonight. It was all good.

It's gong to be just me and the 3 kids starting tomorrow through Sunday. Wifey is going on business trip with 2 others.

Next week, it's my turn. I'm going fishing (hopefully) in Port O'Connor Texas the 19th through the 21st. Probably just bay fishing and some night time floundering (in a boat). And I may just have to take the rest of my bottle of Black Seal Rum for a few pirate drinks. :)

Good evening all. 52F this morning, clear calm wind. Temp warmed to 68F, wind stayed moderate and out of north, mostly clear sky. Bike ride this morning, back to town for wife to do followup with colonoscopy.

Finished the last two miles of the trail clearing and mowing. I even had time to clean the pool, take a nap, and weed the garden. It's amazing how much more work can be done when the temperature is 30˚ cooler (70˚ instead of 100˚).

Good morning.

There were still a few drops of rain in the air last night when I climbed out of the car after a 2 hour drive. I was more than ready to take a pee, but the sight of the stars in the sky made me stop and stare. Despite only being able to see through small gaps in the clouds, there were many more than I can normally see. A sight so stunning that it easily persuaded my bladder to quit complaining for a few minutes.

A couple of years ago David (Sodamo) told us about a great phone app that shows what is up there (an app for the sky at night - not the urinary tract :)). With it you can adjust the display to match what you can see and hide all those stars that are only visible through binoculars or a telescope. After a while I reached into my pocket to see what it could tell me about which stars are normally so faint, they are invisible to me - I thought I would be able to then compare them with what you can see from where you live.

As I swiped across the screen, I remembered I had removed it a couple of months ago in order to get my phone quickly working again, after unintentionally letting Google update all the bloated Android "services" that I never use, swallowing up all of the limited memory space on this phone. If you had to remove most of the apps from your phone, which is one is your favourite, that you would try and keep regardless ? Mine would be Strelok+

Drew, Randy, good thing is that when flesh and bone collide with steel, you rarely damage the steel :). Hope you both heal quickly.

a fine morning. First my tooth while still sore is not throbbing, what an improvement, and the smack to my head seems only to have left a two inch red puffy spot under my right eye. Should be gone in a day or two. Geez I'm glad the flat side hit me....
I had to chuckle, yes, I should have used my Kubota with either the bucket or the pallet forks to take this big steel contraption out of the truck.
I had help getting it into the truck, then went to Lowes for 2x6 treated lumber to build the carryall around the very heavy frame they give you.
Heavy steel, poorly welded. I have a pic on my phone I'll load later regarding the welding. I am the last person to be picky about welds based on my experience but this was really something. Almost laughable. Somebody seems to have run out of spool wire, stopped welding, left about an inch high ball of spool wire still welded to the bottom of the steel, all bunched up like a bird's nest. I of course will post the pic also to the welding thread and see how they enjoy it. Luckily I can now add a few welds to beef it up; going to get fully repainted anyway.

It's been warm and muggy here for days. 73 now, going up to low 80's today in showers. But when the sun is out it feels like a sauna.
At least we are getting some rain. About one inch so far this week, we need a lot more than that.

Headed to the dentist bright and early. Last time he sent me to another dentist for a root canal; I decided to wait and see if it would improve. Over a week it did and I never got the root canal. A little twingy at times, but they had just put a new expensive bridge in and now they wanted to drill through the bridge. No. So hopefully this too will die down. I wonder if I'm grinding my teeth at night in a particularly crazy dream, but
if I can avoid drills, I'm sure going to try.

On the fun side, will be ordering new front tires for my "little" Massey. I checked the tire clearance yesterday. About an inch to the steering rod.
Width going up one inch, so half inch on either side. Going to be close but should work. Turf tires, not ag, so tight clearance ok, unlikely debris will get wedged.

so now I am the proud owner of 4 male Shepard's.

this sounds so familiar....how many parents have wound up with their kid's animals? raise your hands....I bet a lot would go up.
My older brother in VA for years wound up with four golden labs on his farm, two of his and two of his sons who went into a no animal apt.
The dogs ate a lot, were a handful at times, but immediately became part of the family. A pile of four large golden labs in the center of the living room floor is a lot of dog. And a lot to love and get doggy loved in return.

Good morning all, 66 here this morning going 69 with a 50% chance of rain and a 99% humidity. Wish I could send RNG some of this humidity, it would be rough to start a fire out there this morning. Been very tired lately and only got a little done on the pantry but it will get done a little at a time. James Easter (of the Easter Brothers) stopped in last night and played 5 or 6 songs for the boy. He got so excited that he wore himself out and had to go to bed. It sure was a blessing for us all. Hope to get a little more done on the pantry today. Have to take mom to the sheriff's office and get her finger printed. The gov. has to see if she is a mass murderer or something if she is going to live in the same house as the boy.

Eric, Those nights sure are a blessing aren't they.

Drew, Glad you are ok, praying your tooth work goes well. Enjoy the massy.:cool2:

Top, Praying for your leg.

Have a great day all. Ed

Drinking first cup of coffee. 49° with clouds this morning. Heading to 60° with clouds all day. Everything outside is wet. Going to take a while for it to dry out. Kitchen window got replaced. It's taken a month to get replaced. But there was still good glass on inner pane. Going to get started on tree and shrub trimming today. Do the low stuff first.
Drew and Randy, hope your injuries are getting better.
Eric, one of the things I like about southwest USA was clear views of the sky at night. Milky Way was very prominent. You did have to get away from city lights though.
Good Morning All.

66 going to 72. Had some more showers last night and drizzle most of the day, more expected today.

Haircut, then gym, then to-do list.

Carry all sounds like a nice project, Drew. I built a carry box for mine that would be easy to take off since I also use it as forks to move pallets of firewood. I agree the TSC welds and paint leave much to be desired.

Ed, hope those fingerprints don't show your mom is on the FBI Top 10 List :).

Wow, lot going on with everyone, hard to keep up.

64° and overcast. I had dr visit yesterday, which resulted in another tomorrow. Hair cut tonight.

Bought a box blade at TSC once, got it home and noticed several welds didn't have the 2 pieces welded together. So back it went and never bought another one.

Have a TSC carry all. Mine has never attacked me, but i havent used it since i got a tractor with FEL and forks. I have 3/4 inch bottom i bolt on, but have it off since the carryall has been sitting outside for years.
