When I was in high school, 1971 - 1973, my dad bought a trucks for his business. Because he is crazy cheap, he bought a truck nobody wanted, a truck originally slated for county use, a bare bones thing, basically a heater and a key for options, 6 cylinder chevy engine, and a 3 on the tree tranny. Oh yeah, it was very, very close to Kubota orange! Our county used that color on all its trucks. I think so employees would not use them for personal business, nobody wants to be seen in something like that.
Our county trucks, where i grew up were orange also, dump trucks, pick ups...

Know a guy from univ tenn drove a bright orange truck. He took it to germany, they loved it over there.

Hope no rain sat, gotta mow and trim for my labor day picnic. Stop by if you are nearby.

Good evening all. 68F this morning, partly cloudy sky, calm wind. Winds picked up mid morning, sky cleared off, and high temp was 84F. Got morning Men's meeting, bike ride in. Worked on getting boat ready, heading to Bull Shoals and had a few issues last trip. Also napped, and mowed front lawn.

Early 70's Camero had an orange color option, step-son had a '71 in it :D

When I was a kid North Carolina state trucks were dark orange, they switched to yellow sometime in the 60's.

64 up to 84. Rain likely later.

VW beetles were popular at my high school. One girl I knew bought a used one and had it painted an orange color that looking back I'd say was perfect Kubota orange. Everyone knew where she went since it was the only orange car around.

Good morning all. Struggling to get to onto here these last couple of days. The broadband supplier's automated line test page won't even load, yet when I called in the fault, it came back as everything ok :confused3:. Yes, they would send someone out, but would bill me big time if no fault was found. Amazingly, within less than a minute, I then got through to a lady who was pleasant, polite and prepared to go off script. I asked her to listen and after a while, sure enough she could hear the crackling in the background and made a note of it on the call log, together with the fact that the crackling could be heard with all ADSL equipment at my end disconnected. With luck someone will be here Friday afternoon to sort it.

Drew, when you bought your Subaru, were you not tempted to go for an XV, (you may know that as a Crosstreck?), if only for the Kubota inspirted paint finish they offer it in ?

Talking of colors, on a tractor, red, green, orange, blue, all look fine to me, though on Tuesday evening we passed a black Valtra. Both wife and myself took one look at it, turned to one another and said yuk. It may have looked good in a fancy showroom, but working away in a field it looked way too serious. Goodness knows how depressing it must be on a dull winter's day.

70 going to 82 today with rain coming in mid day. Over the next few days it looks like the hurricane system will finally work its way over here and
give us several days of rain. We've had over 9 inches in August, little more than average per month but wet for August. No break from the lawn.

Eric, that black Valta must be for the guy with the black S class Benz. He probably has help to clean his tractor...;)
are you having lamb withdrawals now that the flock has been sent off for lamb chops or is there still plenty to do?
don't ask your wife that...

headed off to Kubota dealer early this morning to pick up front weights for Massey. They are allegedly quick attach on the stock bar. Will need some help putting them on; once upon a time holding up something that weighed 92 pounds while bolting would be no problem. Those days are over.

Otherwise back to working on that mower deck today; should be able to finish the welding today. Maybe.
Haven't turned it over yet to see what surprises may lurk underneath.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 61° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 69° with partly cloudy skies. Got mostly nothing done yesterday. Grandkids found out their parents had other plans for them. Last set of outside light go up today. Then lawn cutting when grass dries.
Irv, Oakland County where i live still has Orange vehicles.
Drew, use the Kubota to lift them weights onto Massey.
Good Morning All.

45F clear sky might reach 70 for high...ahhh the taste of autumn. :dance1:

Pretty sure all outside projects are done now... I think, just mow trim the lawn than falling leaves little over month a way.

Pulling for the folks down in Texas.

Enjoy the day all.

Rick, you really have to reconsider. Just look how nice this looks.
Though I do admit the electric blue of a NH hood starts looking a little bit
like robins egg blue on that truck, not the most manly of colors.
Take that rig down Main Street and I guarantee you you'll get comments.
We could have fun with a contest on best comment...

Martha, I heard it took 10,000 robins to make that truck... :D

ok, ok, make believe it's a F350 dually...

on a more somber note
So many people still being rescued, so many people have lost absolutely everything along the Gulf Coast.
I'm going online to the Red Cross and give something, other than prayers for families being safe what else can one do.
Just think of how many family pets and animals of all kinds have drowned. Going to be mighty ugly when the water goes down.

Hmmm, bring tractor and forks w/pallet around to back of truck, slide them off without wrecking truck,
and then lift to front of Massey. Ron, you've woken up faster than I have this morning. Thank you.

Good morning all. 59 this morning going to 82 with patchy fog. Going to the grocery this morning, friend coming over later this morning and then a run to Harrisonburg to grab a few things. Saw blade for metal cutting band saw, leather sewing needles, some potatoes and onions from a friend. For me that is a busy day.

David, Get well soon. Praying.

Have a great day all. Ed

Good morning! It took a Hurricane and a week of North wind but we finally did it. We hit 68˚ for a morning low temperature in August, and a high of only 89˚ is expected.
A visit with Dad today and install a solar battery charger on his tractor is planned.

Yep, 68 here, too, with 90 forecast for a high. Glad I filled the car with gas yesterday since the TV news says a lot of stations have run out already.

Gas went up $.30 last 2 days.
