good morning, 67 going to 76 and the heat is no more

Picked up tax returns from the accountant yesterday. Worked on making wife more comfortable
Reviewed the results of the blood work. Cholesterol normal, A1C 6.0 which is a good number for me, slightly high for Nitrogen related tests. Will see what cardiologist will say about that at next appointment

Should be a good day to continue weeding and general yard clean up. Mostly I am curious also about hiring a crew for miscellaneous work around the place. I will share what I get from them. They are able to take down trees, trim back to base the branches. Stack the branches for me to pick up with the tractor and pile down in the meadow. Bring in a tree climber when needed etc. A big tall pine leaning towards the driveway is first priority
Dead trees can be very challenging. Several other trees closer to the house are also on the menu. One is an invasive tree that needs to be sprayed at the base for it to die. Cutting it just makes it grow back from the roots

65 and sunny this morning. Possible showers again this afternoon but we haven't had any in a week.

Moved a large rock I found yesterday. Cherry picking for the base of the bridge. I found quite a few but I don't think I can get to them to dig em' out.
Showered and shaved and then to the Charlotte airport to pick up wife. She is quite happy to be home after two weeks of travel. Home bed and here we are.

Time for a second cup

This mornings walk with Cody could have gotten him injured because of the snapping turtle that he discovered. But was able to get him pulled back at the last moment.

I don't think there will be much done today. Not raining yet, but it is coming. The rain should be here in two hours.

Glad Cody safe we have those in our pond. Some people will catch them for their meat 7 different flavors I’m told. Several years ago a gentleman caught 12 of them in our pond sold them to a restaurant in New York I was just happy to get rid of them as they eat my fish

getting them off the local roads is fun, box turtles are simple
snapping turtles so far I've found opening an umbrella and shoving it in their face tends to make them go the other way, hopefully
towards side of road. big piece of cardboard might also work.
No way am i getting my hands anywhere near a snapping turtle.

but as I've said here before, local Leni Lenape Indians were the Turtle Clan, so I think some spirits
are crawling around with these turtles. Probably some bad mojo to run over one...

Popgadget, this is one of those factory stereos that are very difficult to upgrade due to head unit. I read all the reviews online and they
agree with my results, basic system is muffled, while optional Mark Levinson system very good. All the complaints say the same thing,
but good that upgrading can help, and not costly. Replacing the head unit is 1500+++; I like the head unit just fine, hope issue is not no output to tweeters, unlikely a crossover burned up but ? Stereo sounds like early gen Bose system, thumpy, smooth, not very accurate. Unit has three tone controls, I have treble maxxed out, doesn't seem to affect much. I'd love to put an audio analyzer on the existing system and see how far off it is.
for a hundred bucks, it's worth the effort I hope to try new speakers. I admit I'm spoiled by my KEF speakers at home, as inexpensive as they are, they produce very accurate sound. My car stereo sounds nice. But it doesn't sound good...

and to continue a long standing tradition, I am going to improve the top end of my truck by at least five mph
due to a proven upgrade on my cars. Lexus wanted 65 bucks for a chrome exhaust extension standard on fancier model, I got
one online for 25. It has internal tabs I haven't figured out yet, but maybe I'll crawl under there today and check it out.

not everything in life has to be logical and sensible.

Makes me almost glad my hearing is as bad as it is, can't hear treble much at all.
As long as a speaker doesn't "rattle" and sound like mud I'm good.

Good morning! 73˚F heading to the mid 90s mostly sunny, S wind.

I finally put up the pull down clothes rack on my wife's side of the Closet. It has been sitting in the garage for a year. Another project off the list and a happy wife with more hanging space on her side of the closet. I had to do several dreaded modifications to hang it, so that was the delay, but it's working good now.

I'm also in the process of replacing my aging EGO equipment. Yesterday I got a new EGO weed trimmer with auto line feed (no bumping) and push button string load. Today I will get a new EGO hedge trimmer, I'm giving the newly opened Lowes in town lots of business. I noticed the 10 year old hedge clippers was chewing instead of cutting, The new one will be lighter and longer and comes with a new battery. The weed trimmer also came with a promotional extra battery, which was a good incentive that worked on me.
