Morning all, 39 going to 47 and rain.

Got the light star restrung and dog walked at peddlars village.
Rest of lights hooked up and done.

Ted/LS - Prayers for you and Dona, really hope they can get their act together and move her towards recovery.

Need to schedule a haircut. Later this week son Choral concert and play at Bucks county playhouse with some friends. Get the group discount since we have enough people.

Be well,

Will put up tomorrow and take down the current plastic star. Found one "branch" missing from factory, so much for QC.

Good Morning to all who Celebrate! Currently, 36 going to a high of 42. Still, some snow sticking around from yesterday, about half an inch. Just enough to be a pain.

The weekend went well, The Gun show was well-attended. Prices have come down significantly from the last one in November. Picked up 250 rounds of 9mm for 80 dollars. My friend tried to twist my arm into a mini-14, but I refrained by using the old "I'll buy one if you buy one." pact. Good brunch at a local diner as well. I won't see them cutting wood this weekend as they will attend a football game instead.

My goals for this week are to button everything up before the holiday and prepare for the madness of Christmas and the slack week afterward. Also need to sharpen the saws and get ready for the coming firewood gathering session.

Y'all stay safe out there and guard your health! Prayers for all in illness or facing challenges!

Morning all;
A snowy morning to start the day with, then slowly warming up including during the night today with almost 50F forecast for tomorrow, then a cooling trend getting down to cold again;
At 9 this morning,

Good Morning.
35° when I woke up this morning, 42 now and a high of 45. We got .84” of rain overnight, pond is just about up to the overflow. Grey out side, but not raining, supposed to start again after dinner.

Yesterday, I took the blower out of the shop furnace, couldn’t see anything wrong other than a bit of vibration, but the fan shell was in good shape, balance weights attached and no debris stuck to it. Couldn’t find anything else wrong, so reassembled it, while it’s not perfect it’s better than it was.

Helped son a bit it the house and parked in front of a fire again at the end of the day.

Today, dropped wife’s car off for inspection, doing some paper work, but not much else planned. But it seems that something always comes up to keep me occupied.

Have a PO pick up this morning, the new lights for the. bathroom.
Happy Hour at friend’s house this afternoon. Sliced, grilled London Broil my contribution.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Only made it to 40 deg, with overcast / fog all day.
wasted most of morning with paperwork that didn't need done, but I did it anyways.
Ran to the bank, which is a rather long trip for me, about 45 minutes. Took a container of pennies that used to hold 2# of amish macaroni salad. 956 pennies. Took a small baggie with mostly dimes and nickels, few pennies and quarters. it was worth $8.12. All in all, not enough to cover gas and lunch, but needed to go for something else anyways.

Continued to trouble shoot why the interior lights in the van that do not come on. The fuse is ok and there is power at the fuse. Checked one of the bulbs and it was fine. Next may take down the overhead panel to look at the connections around the switches. Had this area disassembled by the glass people to replace the front window a while back but the window was not a fit so they put it back together and just maybe a connection came off? But will wait for another day since wife wanted me down again to help out. Trash day today as well to get the can up to the road

Ordered groceries for pickup tomorrow.
Brought in more firewood.
All 4 chainsaws work and starts :). Found a few videos on chainsaw repairs to get smarter on this. Tested the 026 crankcase with vacuum by blocking the exhaust and intake and using a vacuum pump and it passed. So the crank seals should be fine and it runs and starts

apparently Kubota America is going through a major software conversion in the first three weeks of January, and
to some degree parts availability might be delayed.
I think most of this applies to special order stuff like a new crankshaft, things a dealer might not normally stock.
But for three weeks they can't communicate with Kubota warehousing. The whole company is going "dark" during the conversion.

for those of you who have gone through major software conversions at work, at least the ones I have been involved in were done on weekends.
Monday morning was always the test.
But this is three full weeks while they are upgrading the US to their better international software package.
I bet the anti hacking security built into new platforms is pretty sophisticated.

I remember coming in on Sundays to test software, trying to break something with different keystrokes, hang the machine, have at it.
we were searching a public records database that was guaranteed accurate. If we missed a lien or judgment, our company paid for it.
zero defect goals, everything done at least in triplicate, like triple data entry. Quality control was everything. And I was responsible for it, as General Manager. Except I didn't get involved in IT, the boss did that all by himself. But I could help test and if the boss was in on a Sunday, I was going to be there too.

hoping Kubota managed expectations and gets it done in two weeks.

so if you somehow know you'll need a special order in January better do it now.

Good Evening,
Slow cooking pork ribs in the oven, they smell very good !

Helped son a bit it the house and parked in front of a fire again at the end of the day.
Paul, just curious what you use for fire starters? For the Vermont wood stove I use those Rutland fire blocks with newspaper cardboard and some kindling.
I keep a good supply of cardboard and some newspaper under my indoor log ring !

Hope all have a good evening! 🙏
