Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 1.4C and it's presently 13.2C, clear and fairly calm. There was 9.5mm in the gauge @ 0900.

'Into town' trip successful.

I (re-)contacted the plumber about the Church's toilet facility and told him about the suspected water meter detected leak. He confirmed for Friday arvo. I did a walk-around of the Church & Hall looking for any discernible leaks/wet patches (none found), then performed the '2 hour' meter check = no change.

Which, this morning, got me thinking... the high water usage period occurred during the Church Hall water leak & repair last May! I'll re-check the meter on Friday, just to be sure, but I think that that solves that 'little problem'.

I'm off to Launceston in awhile, which will take up most of my day.

That's about it, take care all.

lots of yellow jackets at dads. Got stuff out of car several times, then I noticed yellow jackets swarming out of a hole right where i had walked several times. Gave them a good spray with raid, but that just angered the ones that didn't get hit. I had to sneak to car from passenger side to get in, and move it away from there.

Drew, hope you can weave your way around the fires. Does CA still prohibit outside produce to be brought into the state?

Dennis, I don't know, guess I'll look for signs at the border.
But each state in this area has a port of entry for animals, and any livestock carrier I guess has to report in.

been working on an alternate route East from California and have it figured out heading for an overnight in Barstow and then dropping down to the old route. Will make that decision a couple days in advance.

list of mr fixit stuff for RNG is growing. Now my Polk sound bar won't make a sound. I'm sure it's operator error, but tv shows outside receiver hooked up but zero sound. Maybe something simple, and likely, that the cable came loose in rear of tv. That means one person sliding tv off wall mount while another fiddles with plug. No way one person can do this easily.
but two people can.

sure am glad GM has a Western repair shop...(y)

My little town remembers 9/11, but we have another 9/11 here. The Battle of The Brandywine occurred here on 9/11/1777. It was the largest 1-day battle of the Revolutionary War.
On this very hillside meadow, American, British and Hessian soldiers stained the soil with their blood 247 years ago today.

After our solemn ceremony, we walked across the meadow to our church and shared a meal. The church I worship at dates back to 1692, 80 years before the Revolution.

Hope everyone is doing well. No time to catch up, will do that later.

Started prepping to evacuate at 3am. 11 hrs later finally sat down, ahhh. The forecast high winds are now here. Makes predicting fire behavior impossible. Authorities are making grim predictions but neighbors and I are not leaving unless forced out. Heard rumors of homes burning not far away, but not sure if that is true. The fire is definitely close and very dangerous, but what is weird is that we barely see any smoke due to the wind speed and direction. The next 12-24 hours are going to reveal a lot.

We are packed and ready to bug out and are hoping we don't have to.
I hope you don't have to bug out, too.

Good evening all. 64ºF for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. Light wind, sky clouded up with periods of drizzle, and high temp was 80ºF, HI 84ºF. Humidity returned, above normal temps for next week or so. Made coffee to start day, Men's meeting, bike ride, trip to town for gas, return bad part, lunch and groceries. Nap just grazed for dinner.
Buppies prayers sent.
Ron Glad good drive, sorry no freighters. Hope you got to the grass today. Nice pic
Hay Dude 80gal won't lat long in bigger tractors.
Phil $1000 for three tires? Hope you enjoyed your day.
Randy(wag) good story.
Ron nice pic
Mike Hope you had a good day as well.
Drew hope you had a good trip to Heber City. Not sure what you hoped to learn but doubt either side was honest.
Paul I was at home, wife and I were going to go watch practice at Bellerive CC.
Thomas nice agenda, hope you got it done.
Drew some could drive hybrid cars, but they won't do as the only vehicle, watching the towing reports on electric trucks, results are disappointing. Hybrid version of you RV won't do much better milage wise than a diesel version.
Buppies that day will be difficult to forget.
Lou thanks for link. Pickup conversion sounds interesting.
Frits good luck with the balcony door, no chance of working on it from inside?
Scott(vt) sorry debate disappointing. Hope you had good trip north.
Drew hope the fire situation improves before you get there.
RNG hope the pump controller finds it's way to you. Hope you find the short on firetruck. Sounds like a good trade excavator work for firewood.
Ken glad meeting went well and price not as bad as expected. Sorry meeting with Doc not productive, hope therapy works for you. Thanks for sharing your story and thoughts
Newbury thanks for sharing your experience.
Bill I can relate to your disbelief, I saw the video, and my brain couldn't comprehend that someone would do that. Glad deck finished.
RS good to hear your wife is doing better, prayers for her continued healing. Glad you main internet connection repaired. Hope much progress on today's agenda.
David interesting audio tests, hope documentation error all fixed. Hope mowing goes well.
Don neat Xray. Glad you can drive again, and can reduce sling time somewhat.
Fritas good luck with alternate approach.
Drew glad you made it to Heber with no problems. Glad place is nice and good for some energy conservation. Look forward to the pics
Plowhog good to hear ready to bug out, really hope you don't have to leave.
Dennis neat bridge.
