another thread about cedar porch ceilings got me thinking of maybe doing my porch ceiling with T&G pine. will take 450 sqft. Will have to lower j channel for front siding, which will be a pain. Will want to put in at least 2 ceiling fans and probably ceiling LED lights if I do it. So much other stuff needs done though, deck needs rebuilt, it's in worse shape.
88 deg, sat outside this morning. Had good talk with the electric meter reader when he stopped by, never been out there before when he has come by.

Re cameras
Still quite happy with the Eufy cameras I got Amazon Prime days last years. Went with solar/battery powered for exterior, wifi to a central hub. My 2 indoor, pan and tilt are on wifi controlled outlets for privacy.
Was easy to check in during our mainland trip.

Good morning! Well, afternoon.....
Low was 57°, today's high should be around 86°. Slight chance of a t-storm.

Went into town early this morning for a bunch of errands. All successful. --- but, didn't go to Costco except for gas. $2.99 gal vs. $3.49 at the cheapest gas station. For 20 gals.... that's a $10 savings!

I am proud that we didn't stop for fast food anywhere. Been trying to eat somewhat healthier. Max wasn't happy that we didn't go to the "magic window" where he normally gets a treat.

Got the metal roofing installed on the awnings, but still have to do the trim. Probably go out in a bit to get started on that.

A brand new bird feeder that was full, dropped to the ground and dumped about a pound of seed all over the walkway. The little clip holding the cable apparently was never cinched tightly, allowing the whole thing to slide off. That got fixed already.

Chicks on the back porch roof are flapping their wings getting ready to fledge. They are stretching the nest out for sure. I don't know how they are all fitting in there. Surprised at how much of a size difference there is between the first hatchling vs. the fourth, just 3 days apart!

Everyone enjoy their day!

I don't have a recommendation for security cameras, but I can say that the Unifi cameras I installed up north were fairly short lived and expensive. In the new house I went with a Simply Safe setup, and while not perfect, it works well enough. The Abode system up north wasn't bad image and reliability wise, but their unwillingness to base their LEO notification policy based on what could be seen on the cameras was a deal breaker for me.

I use Blue Iris software that runs on a dedicated PC. It provides web access as well as smart phone apps to view the cameras. It will work with almost any camera, I have mostly POE cameras now, with a few WIFI.
The software costs $80 and you are autonomous. The bad news is that you have to setup and configure everything, it is not plug and play. I’ve been using it for a long time and have found it to be rock stable. It does take a little bit of networking aptitude, but well worth the learn in my opinion.

96° was our high. Upstairs not keeping up.
Jambalaya was very good. Been long time since I’ve made it.
Saw on YouTube that MrCool makes AC unit with an air handler, instead of just the wall unit. Maybe I should get small one to take the rooms above garage off the geothermal unit. Already got the ductwork, could probably fit make it work by setting it in the unfinished room, the ducts pass up thru it now.
