You are right Ron, Kyle lives on the other side of town. Good that no Firefighters were hurt I have cousins that are in the responding VFDs.

Good morning! Weather station online. 74˚F heading to the mid 90s with heat index up to 109˚.
From the pic it loos like I need to level the weather station up a bit.
In the pot is one of three date trees that my mom planted from Costco pitted dates.

First morning in a week that it's starting out below 70 degrees.
Going into the low to mid 80s.
Bit of a relief.
Turned off the AC and opened the windows. Outside air just has that better smell.
Closing them around 10am before it gets too warm and the AC has to work too hard.
I'm going out to cut some grass in the mean time.

Don, will they produce dates?
sometimes foodstuffs don't reproduce well

everything is watered and friend just confirmed she will be here tomorrow and the next day to water.

Don't Know if I will get dates, they need to be 3 years old. but they do match the palms by the pool. I will plant them in the ground next cool morning.

hit and miss engine used to make ice cream,
Thanks for the pix Mostly. My neighbor has antique hit and miss engines, but not as nice as the photo.

65F going to 95F today.

I'm traveling to our ski cabin today. Meeting a repair company tomorrow to discuss removing the tree out of the roof and associated damage. It will be a long ride for Rigby but he does well in his crate in the back seat.

Morning all, 76 going to 81 and sunny.
Got to 95 in NYC yesterday, spent some time on a rood top bar to catch some breeze.
Son's drop off at the school went fine. The course is at Fordham college and he is staying in the dorms. So he will get a taste of college for the next two weeks.
Did a lot of walking visiting old haunts. The redo of Penn Station is so much nicer now than the old crappy moldy basement version.

Popgadget - Happy birthday to your daughter.

Back to the day job,
Be well,

Yes, it's skinny

Ironbound is still scaffold bound for a redo.

About 80 before dawn this morning, and high humidity. Should see 90 and humidity drop.

I've been busy, and of course, see I missed a few things...Ron, Happy Birthday; Buppies, hope you are recovered from dehydration. Rigsby is multiplying cells exponentially...so is Della.

Had a great long mountain hike last Sunday...from up on the mountain down to Pocosin Hollow, full of waterfalls, and back up. Also, quick run to Norfolk and back...new bridge-tunnel is really coming along...lots of sailboats and ships in Hampton Roads. Saturday, travelled to my son and DIL's new house in western Albemarle for birthday celebration and late father's day...wow, can see the nearby mountains right from their yard and windows...fenced in back yard made it fun for Della to chase their two dogs around...one is a high energy Brittany...first time I've seen that Brittany worn out. This was Della's first interaction with other dogs, since I was holding off until after her 3rd round of puppy shots. Granddaughter Isabel has her first tooth, and seemed fascinated by me...she is an angel...must not have inherited any of my DNA 😁.

We have an immature red-tailed hawk that was raised in our pines this spring still hanging around ...sits on our house roof and the tin roof on the barn, on a fence post and in the tall cherry tree. I put a wide planting pot's saucer full of water on the ground near the garden, and it just flew down and took the most interesting bird bath for 30 minutes. My wife and I watched and laughed the whole time.

Della is officially house trained, and doing well on her leash and on her rock climbing "playground." Her favorite toy is any cardboard box, and her favorite food right now seems to be rabbit poop pellets in the yard...have to watch her closely.

Snagglepuss is ok, came outside to a mouse offering on the doorstep. Then as I was working on gearbox she showed up, but soon left as I needed

her out of the way. Performed upside down. Hard part is lifting and getting bolts in by yourself. I’m beat.
