Good afternoon! 90˚F feels like 95˚, we hit the hottest part of the day at 5pm.

Yesterdays welcome party was very nice full of vegan foods. There is another plant based family that lives across the street. About 20 people were there to welcome us, a fun time.

decided not to mow lawn since I think this rain which I have been tracking since Ohio is basically going to fizzle out.
As dry as it is, better to just not mow. Bees sure like the clover growing.
94/105 hope this breaks tonight and temps drop a little

been packing a small suitcase, something I haven't done in a while. Found my really good sailor's hat stuffed in a compartment,
my favorite hat, almost new, so that was good. I had bought a cheaper replacement and it works but not as comfortable.

changed all the water filters in the basement. Getting to be very hard to do, the big calcite cartridge is so heavy I can hardly hold it up
while trying to screw the housing together. I hope that is the last of those I have to replace, working on a proposal to landlord to buy an acid neutralizer and maybe a water softener, if I get them installed. Haven't spent any time with those new test gauges yet.
first filter in line, the sediment one, was colored rust brown, calcite filter can't tell, last filter is carbon.
Likely will keep the current sediment filter and then install more equipment down the line.

not overly motivated this afternoon. Picked out my clothes to travel with, not much, hot down in NC for sure. But I do have to take a set of slacks and a nice short sleeve shirt to go out to dinner with. Important to be properly attired while driving Miss Daisy...

Went to get diesel fill up. 91 but hotter in town. 20 MPG to town running both AC's. The second AC drags it down some. Got 5 drops of rain on the windshield.
Returned up through the city watershed area and lots of bikers were out with their expensive mountain bikes riding the trails.

Also went through an area currently being built up with town homes and apartments. Used to be FT. Dietrick land that may have polluted ground water. Not sure if that was resolved. BEF do you know?

Worked a bit on improving the vent for the new dryer. It had popped off at the dryer. Ordered a proper 4 inch elbow with a clamp to tighten it on to the pup piece

Otherwise recovering from little sleep last night but good news is my intestinal system is doing better

These flowers are attracting humming birds. Trumpet Wines growing wild up over a tree stump. Should be completely full of them in a couple of weeks.

The rain last night and this morning came down in buckets! Over the last two days we've had 3" of it.
The sump pump got something stuck between the float and the column and it wouldn't switch on. Got about 1/2" of water on the floor, good thing the basement is unfinished. It is working now.

Looks like tomorrow I may get something done. Going up to 79°F. and sunny.

Shookstown Rd? There were some area's around Ft D. polluted, don't remember the details. I know they just built a bunch of houses off of baughmans lane , shookstown area, but they would be on city water.
Trumpet vine is what is growing over the neighbor's mail box, that they dinged on me to remove. It's not on my box, so I'm not doing a thing to it. Will see if PO decides to stop delivering my mail next month at the deadline they gave me.

The couple rain drops we got probably just raised the humidity. 90 deg, so did drop a couple points.

Been looking at mini skid steers, but they are pricey also. Be nice to have something that can lift a ton of pellets off my truck, light enough to trailer and maybe put a rotary mower on the front to mow the steeper hills at dad's. That and a mini ex to replace the L3940.... Just a thought for now.. Boy would I miss the cab for snow in the winter, and bringing pellets in... Maybe not a good idea.

yes the area around Shookstown Road is getting built up fast.

My tractor can easily lift 2000 lbs or more but I am avoiding lifts off the PU or the van. Prefer to use the trailer and raise it up one pallet to make it easier to grab without digging into the floor. A skid steer will be easier to control and vision is much greater on the load. I use the minix often for lifts and it can lift much more than the tractor but no pallet forks so have to use slings if not able to grab it without doing damage.

Good Evening Drew,
Inch and a half lines were for big stuff and 2 1/2 for
water supply
Drew, the 1 1/2” line is pretty much history. Attack line is 1 3/4” and we use 2 1/2” for larger fires ! Supply line LDH is 5”. When I started volunteering in 1984 they were still using 11/2” , but it’s gone now. The inner city departments still use 3” for supply but the have hydrants all over !

Have a good evening!

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 0.5C and it's presently 13.2C, partly cloudy & calm.

Yesterday's 'Morning Prayer' Church service went well & the remainder of the day was lovely.

Today I plan on keeping close to my mobile phone, although I don't really anticipate the lime delivery to occur today.

That's about it, take care all.

Still getting the 5 am website glitch.
Ah HA! I knew that it wasn't just me... of course, mine happen at around 1900.

Good evening all. Light wind, mostly clear sky and high temp was 97ºF, HI 105ºF Short nap, swept off front porch, got out of work clothes and something more appropriate to receive out of town guests. Stepdaughter came by to visit with them as well. Dinner out went well. They came because of gear I left in his truck from BAK and had been moved inside a storage container. Pics are from BAK, one of the support teams was known as the sag hags, they had different themes everyday, she is last on still working on support team, hit and miss engine used to make ice cream, and western Kansas.
