The battery M12 XC6.0 may still be under warranty but can not find the receipt. Did not realize that it may have a 3 year warranty period. HD does not keep receipts longer than 2 years I think but also may have bought it with a gift card so no record. Costco keeps receipts a lot longer

just saw a taylor swift video posted showing her putting out a kitchen fire in apartment in NYC.
Talk about doing everything wrong...
pan on stove on fire.
drop a larger pan on top or use an approved fire smothering blanket. She clearly did not have one.
Nor did she have the new style fire extinguishers made for kitchens with basically AFFF liquid inside, not
dry powder that blasted all over Swifts kitchen and made a huge mess.

I highly recommend everyone have a fire smothering blanket and mini fire extinguisher in their kitchen.

I'm not a Swifty!
But I have seen her.
You saw that video and all you noticed were her fire fighting materials?
Really...?

btw, the new formula fire extinguishers are rated for lithium battery fires, which have clearly become a reality
for us all
I have one in the motorhome also.

just don't put things on the stove and walk away...
we've all done it and sometimes paid the price.
I'd much prefer to smother a fire. Less mess, less collateral damage
there may be better quality units than what I posted.
We have other firemen here.
interested to hear what your favorite home extinguisher is.

when I had the farm in NC I knew a drypowder was a poor solution for something on fire in the barn so
I got an old fashioned pressurized water extinguisher in addition to several 10ABC ones.
That thing could squirt some water, and easy to charge with air.
Better to have a charged high pressure hose line but my water pressure at barn wasn't great.

many years experience on the end of a charged high pressure one inch booster line. Inch and a half lines were for big stuff and 2 1/2 for
water supply. And my all time worst favorite means of moving water was carrying a brass water tank on my back trudging up the train tracks in New Hope after the tourist train steam engine sparks had set a bunch of fields on fire. We didn't have a nice attack/field unit early on. We got one when I was there and that was good because I was usually the one driving it. When your insurance office is one block from the fire house, my partner, who was Chief, we got that first rig going pretty quickly. Wonderful days until I wrecked my back on several fires. Sure wasn't filing a claim, since I insured the fire company.
small town stuff is wonderful.

Good Morning,
Ct, 68 to start going to 90 or so again ! Thunderstorms started here around 4:30 and went through until about 8 pm. A town just north of us had a mini tornado!

You saw that video and all you noticed were her fire fighting materials?
Really...?
GM Massey , thanks for that, we think alike ! 😂 Always enjoy a chuckle in the morning!

Looks like I need to make breakfast for the kiddos, and of course some bacon ! 😉

Only one church service today, 9 am so I better get moving ! Sounds like more unsettled weather for this afternoon! Hope all have a blessed and safe Sunday ! 🙏

78 outside this AM, heading to upper 90's again. The grasses and everything else are taking a sun beating. Even the dandelions are wilting.

Gotta run and get the animals taken care of. After that a little lawn work between the houses is in order.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe, hydrate. Don't over do anything.

I have both and a box of baking soda handy.

Good morning all,
61° now highs in the mid 80’s by afternoon, severe boomers late afternoon or evening. Will keep an eye on that as they mentioned the tornado word.

Yesterday managed about an hour of brush trimming until I hit a rock, for some reason brush blades don’t like rocks and dirt lol. Put a good dent in the never ending beech sucker control. Started raining so cleaned up the mess and called it a day.

Raining now, (we need it) so just putter around and take things as they come.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

Heat exhaustion is a killer! be knowledgeable of symptoms.
  • Other symptoms: ... tiredness or weakness, irritability, mild confusion ...
Yikes I've had these symptoms for, oh, ten years .... 😀

66F here going to 94F today. The overnight lows elsewhere that are in the high 80's sound miserable! Hope you get a rain shower or something to cool it down!

Sounds like many people are baking in the heat ... we had it here last week and I think it moved East? I like the 3:1 water to Gatorade idea, btw.

Everyone have a great day !!!

105º yesterday. We mostly hid inside doing the home renovation project. I assembled 2 big Ikea type shelving cabinets in the spare bedroom, which has a new laminate floor and fresh paint, no bed. Will be hot again today, not much planned. Will call my M&D, both are recovering from covid. Older sister visited from NM, she and her husband on their way to northern CA seaside place for the summer. Their daughter/granddaughters moving from NM to MA. Sister will leave Albuquerque asap. Nothing good about it they say.
I will mow the front yard early, cook, and chill today. Have a great Sunday.
Ended up mowing in the evening when it cooled down to 85º - sheesh that was hot a month ago ;)

84 going to 97 and sunny, will be 95 high today in NYC, where we will be in a few hours.

Got some more work on the slab joining, but the last foot or so on one slab is bent up. Will see if anything I can do or if I will need to flatten it somehow. Legs ordered.

Spent more time in the pool. Dog tired today from doing laps.

be well

Good Morning
It’s 83° and doing past 90 again. Yesterday we heard rumbling of thunder and lightning in the distance, but no rain.
The day started making waffles for breakfast as that’s what our daughter wanted for her breakfast. Being her birthday, I obliged her. Wife was at farmers market, totally toast when she got home, but she did make a fresh strawberry shortcake for a birthday cake.
Daughter is doing well, getting around with no assistive devices, walking more very day. Her job as an ER nurse can’t be easy on the hips, even as a charge nurse she is on her feet a lot. Not sure when she will be leaving here to go home, I think she is enjoying her stay.

Roofers showed up and stripped the shingles from the back of the garage roof so the framing can begin tomorrow.
Still watering the concrete

Ended the day with a service call for a large rooftop AC unit at the restaurant. Turned out to be a bad breaker. Lucky that I had a 100a 3phase bolt in breaker in my collection. It was used, but serviceable.

Every time that happens it makes it harder to throw stuff out when I try and clean up.

Not sure what today will bring, maybe a Costco run.

Good morning! Low of 62°, heading towards 82°. Still under cloud cover, but not too hopeful for rain. Chances are less than yesterday. Didn't get too much in the gauge yesterday-- only an 1/8".

More piddling around on the agenda.....

Everyone try to stay cool and happy!

A very pleasant 76F and mostly cloudy @ 11:15 and heading up to around 83F for the day's high. A very welcome relief.

Was raining when I got up a bit ago. Scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon, some could be severe.

Got this coming week's meds doled out yesterday first thing.

Then headed up and got the rest of the front lawn mowed.

After that I went in the shop and hunted up a piece of flat stock for the drawbar portion of the new hitch. Got the hole drilled in that for the pin and radiused both parts to get rid of the points and sharp edges.

Then brought those parts down from the shop and took them around back.

Went back up to the garage and grabbed the jug of muriatic acid and a chip brush and brought those around back and slapped some acid on the parts.

Then remembered I hadn't degreased the one piece ... 🤬

Got the Water Buffalo refilling while the acid was working so I went ahead and started mowing.

Got the back done then hauled the now full Water Buffalo over to the larger peach tree on the east side so The Woman could later it later.

Then started mowing the west side, took a break from that for a couple of BLT's.

Was about to head back out after that when I looked out the living room window and noticed a large groundhog out back.

Grabbed the new shells and went back to the master bedroom and emptied the 00 buck from the shotgun and reloaded it with No. 4 shot.

Managed to crank the window open without spooking the whistle pig and got off a shot ... that thing must have jumped about a foot up into the air, danced around, and then dove for the burrow entrance. No idea if I hit it or not.

After that I headed back out and started mowing again, got the west side almost done.

Woman eventually came out while I was doing that and started watering that peach tree.

Ended up hanging out with Her and moving the WB around to various trees as She watered.

Gingko tree has really taken off, probably has 18" of new growth on the top in 2 stems.

All the Rose of Sharon up there seem to be doing very well and the Swamp Milkweed we planted there are around 1' high.

Once She had emptied the Buffalo She went back inside (it was still pretty warm and humid outside) and I hauled the WB around and refilled it which took about 10 minutes (on half throttle)

After that I collected up the hitch parts and took them up to the shop and dropped them off.

Then called it a day.

Numerous items on agenda for today, which ones get worked on will depend on the weather.

Hope everyone is having a decent Sunday ... (y)

69°F and ,87 inches rain.

On top of the inch we got yesterday not looking good for mowing. Just might be an energy conservation day.

Meeting friend later for sort of an aloha dinner. He has put his house on the market and headed back to Florida. Longterm he plans to join his Mom and sister in Spain.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
