I need to make Costco run but wife using the car again. Need to unload my broken rotary mower, and put trailer away, and unload the truck. I took PHD to Ohio but we never got to use it. Now it’s in 3 pieces in back of the truck.

Good Morning,
Ct, 53 to start going to 72 ! Beautiful sunny day out there ! Need to get out for a long walk !

Fuddy, nice score on the Rambler !

Scotty, I use rubber screw in plugs to keep the critters out of my pool plumbing. Leslie's has these.
similar to these: https
Ken, I use the rubber plugs for all the in pool openings! Like the return lines and inlets ! I h don’t normally use a plug on the back of the filter canister because I closed that opening one time years ago and water got in there and broke the plastic piping on the bottom of the filter when it froze ! I will have to come up with something like wire mesh over the opening to prevent the critter’s access! Anyway it’s fixed ! 👍

Wife has assigned me a few jobs this morning so I better get busy !

Hope all have a super Monday!! 🙏

Alert 1, Severity closure, White House Overlook and Trail Closed
White House Overlook and Trail, one of seven overlooks and the only public trail on the South Rim Drive, remains closed because of safety and law enforcement concerns.

Ken, looks like the public has been bad there
Montezuma's Castle looks close to route
thanks

My first car was a Rambler Classic. The lay down seats were a feature that sticks out in my mind. A wonderful thing for a teenage boy to have at his disposal……
No need to crawl over the seat to get into the back seat.
The horn ring on my car had an open top half so I just spun the wheel around to where the open side was on the bottom and that is where my right arm would go when horizontal.

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 7:15AM. Cloudy early with peeks of sunshine expected late. High 67F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.
RNG, by any chance are you an Elk?
not many rv campgrounds near Orcutt, but the Elk place is top rated. ?
I'm driving right by you apparently on the way South.
Not an Elk, Drew, but I've camped in a lovely spot near here. It is a county park called Jamala Beach. They do have spots overlooking the beach, but also others more inland. Then in the same area is El Capitan State Beach, though I've never camped there. Last but not least, there is parking in the street out front of my place, or on the two concrete tracks leading up to the side yard fence. Best price in town...
has anyone been to the San Diego Zoo and is it worth the effort?
I spent a day there a few years ago. Well worth the time and cost of admission. It's a big place, though, so it means a lot of walking. There is an overhead tram that runs from one end to the other, but it doesn't stop in the middle. I also remember riding in a sort of bus that did make stops. So you could pick the things you want to see and use the bus to skip the ones you aren't interested in. Don't miss the gorillas, though. The day I was there they were very active and, er, horny.
Does anybody know of a good deer repellent?
No. I do know that Deer Scram doesn't phase the blacktails up north.

Very nice weekend, and the weather worked out pretty much as expected. Got an early start running through fog and drizzle until I turned inland into bright sunshine. Made it across the valley in warmish temps, and got to the foothills in time for lunch and a very good bacon cheeseburger. Got a great spot for the tent under a popup, so left the fly off. Only a few bugs at sunset, then good conversation and guitar playing around a camp fire. Didn't do much the next day as construction on the roads in and out had them badly torn up with one lane stops every few miles. Made some new friends and learned about Prop 19 involving cost basis transfer when buying/selling a house, and a company that makes inflatable spray booths. The same fella also has an interesting bike that might be worth a trade. Early start meant that the construction was shut down and all the one way traffic lights turned green as I approached. I was the only vehicle on the road. Made it home before noon and before the heat hit, unpacked and that was about it for the day.

I have some unpacking and organizing to do today and tomorrow before heading north again. And maybe get to wiring up the welders.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start.

A cool 57F and cloudy @ 11:30, calling for a high of 61F for the day. Well below normal for this time of year.

In a couple of days we'll be pushing 90F for the high temp.

Spent yesterday out back working in the garden, mostly on tomato plants.

Used the B & D battery operated cultivator to loosen the soil around the arched trellises and The Woman weeded it, now needs mulched.

Got 12 more put in the ground:

Another 4 around the double cattle panel arched trellis.

One to replace a plant that was dug up on the long vertical trellis.

Another 4 to finish out the row the Bush Beefsteaks were planted in.

And 3 at the end of the arched trellises to fill in the holes there.

Several of the above were transplants, either volunteers or, in one instance, just ended up in a bad initial location.

Selected out 4 really nice plants from what I still had on the shelves and took them around front and got them potted up in larger pots for a friend.

There's still some back there on the shelves but I'm done planting tomatoes so I'll see if any friends or neighbors want them.

Still need to get a final count.

Woman is up working around the shop with the string trimmer.

That's where I'll be heading in a few, will get some clean up done up there.

As She noted today would be a really good day to get some more cardboard burned with the cool temps. Probably be one of the last days until fall.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday ... (y)

That's what I thought also by the leaves. But VC are vines that usually just grow up trees, I'll have to check real close, maybe a Virginia creeper has crept onto this ? tree and fooled me.

I did notice on the Wiki page that they showed an image of a Virginia Creeper vine with a fairly thick stem:

... so not out of the question it could appear "tree-like" ...

Morning wasn't as planned. Over the weekend my son had got a letter in the mail from MVA saying his license was suspended due to his accident in april. We were expecting something from the court with a court date, but apparently he was supposed to contact them, but we didn't realize it. So I had to take him into district court to get his court date scheduled, they then released the suspension, which we then had to go to MVA so they could release it. Then since he could now drive again, he dropped me at Costco, and he went to work, and my wife picked me up.

Easy thing would be to pay the ticket, but the officer actually suggested going to court to get it dropped. He should never have gotten the ticket to begin with.

Need to unload the trailer, but don't feel motivated yet.

ok drive to Lancaster, lot more traffic than before, 202 blocked in Norristown, trying to avoid getting on turnpike. That's what I'll take on the way home. I was zig zagging through small city streets this morning.

nice campground off rt 30 in Bird In Hand.
I took a pic of rv and was amazed/frustrated to find new laptop doesn't have a slot for the camera memory card. ??
ok, now to see if I have a cable with me that might work.
