Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 67 to 83 and cloudy.
Drizzled a bit yesterday, as soon as I went out to do raking.
But did get the raking done, filled up the gorilla cart a few times. I use that thing almost every day.

Lawyers told us to back off the decisions for dad, up to his GF, since largest source of funds is house. He is recovering from operation and my uncle went to visit yesterday.
Dad's GF went to visit and got lost multiple times on her own block, then went to wrong room and sat there for hours, she has no cell phone and didn't realize he would go to a different room for operation prep. Then she got angry at the hospital for not telling her, even though she has no phone and they had no idea she was sitting in an empty room.
So the blind leading the blind so to say.
Brother is going down in a few days to see what can be done.

I need to mow and weed wack. Also need to start prepping and cutting to make serving table from the 2 7 foot ash slabs. Order some pipe clamps and looking at using saw horses to make a temp work surface for the glue up. Think I will use dowels for the join. Going to be fun without a table saw.

Looks like we have a box elder bug invasion, just trying to keep away from house/garage, so far not a problem.

L4N - hope you can get the license back.

Be well,

He called it a "wrap around" mortgage. What a criminal.
Gosh I forgot all about wrap mortgages. They became occasionally used back in the '80s during hard money times with residential mortgages and high interest rates. It was wise not to do that but having one appear is a sign of the troubling times in real estate.

On the camping trip now, I guess sort of typical circumstances. Fired up the motor home to get ready and it greeted me with "oil change required." OK, didn't plan for that but got it done. Then the refrigerator would not work-- not perfectly level I guess-- fixed that but it's still not cooling right even at our camp site. Put some bags of ice in the refer and that helped. Since it is hot here I Fired up the genset to use the A/C-- I learned it overheats in very hot weather (100F) and shuts down. Oh well.

The good news is I am seeing a lot of distant family I only see once per year and they are all doing well.

Six days until we get the new pup ...

Everyone have a great day!!

Been busy mowing and weed wacking, it's mostly under control. The real summer heat is creeping in. Days are 85-90º soon to be triple digits, then its 3 - 4 months of miserable heat.
Wife has convinced me to get new flooring and paint for the 4 bedrooms. (2 offices, 1 bdrm, and junk rm) We are going with a wood plank laminate. We begin this weekend, one room at a time. I've been dragging my feet on this for 20 yrs, Wish me luck!

Took the diesel tank to town yesterday and bought 100 gal red diesel at $3.50 each, down about .75 from the last fill up.

booked a nice spots in Santa Cruz CA, at their marina. Glad I don't have a big rig, looks like tight quarters.
My closest friend's younger brother and their 100 yo mother live there, and we will go out to dinner.
I haven't seen my friend's mom in over 30 years so this will be fun.
This is my first night south of where I'm staying visiting my sister just North of San Francisco.
Then I head South to San Diego

the rv site is the last one on right in line of them facing the marina
might go to bed hearing the tink tink tink of sailboat lines, looks like just little boats here
trying to book a few more sites in places I'm worried will get full. So probably will book rest of California.
Due to my sister living there, spending most time and stops in California, second to Texas.

stock market likely to drop today, very strong jobs market means interest rates less likely to drop soon
unemployment still low at 3.9% I wonder how accurate that is. Very important number.

successful trip to Pierre's Chocolates in New Hope, got some hand dipped mints and
dipped chocolate oreos for my ancient MIL tomorrow. And just two hand dipped peach and apricot candies for me.
yum
coffee washing away all that sweet goodness now.
energy to go mow the lawn
the clover won't wait

also a very successful trip to verizon store for the fifth time to find out why mifi didn't work.
He went through it all, oh, turned off here. Why did it take four trips?
I got it to connect to my new laptop so I know it recognizes it now.
I will use the Verizon mifi as primary until it runs out and then will switch to Tmobil mifi which is truly unlimited
actually I will use whichever one goes faster.
