Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 11:00AM. Mainly sunny to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 74F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.

Nice find, Ron. Do you already have a finish mower for it?

Sorry to hear about the attack, Frits. BTDT, and was the end of my last marriage.

The spare bedroom I'm sleeping in here shares a wall with the heater closet, so I can hear when the heater fires up pretty well. This morning it ran for a while as usual, then started short cycling on and off. Got an email from ecobee letting me know that the furnace was interrupting the power to the thermostat because either the filter was dirty, the furnace was over heating, or some kind of float switch was being triggered. The old thermostat worked fine, but it wasn't too smart for its own britches. No time to mess with it today, and I'm going back north tomorrow, so that's on the list for the next trip. Other than that, the ecobee install went pretty smoothly. In the process I sorted out the wall transformer in the furnace closet, establishing that it powered the doorbell. It's a pretty old transformer, and it hums pretty loudly. I took it off the mounts and let it hang with a piece of foam between it and the wall, and the humming was very much reduced. I have a modern replacement on hand, but need a trip to the hardware store for an adapter and single gang box so I can wire in an outlet in that closet. Another one for the list.

Last Thursday I cancelled the mail hold for this location and I still haven't had a mail delivery. I'm waiting on a return call from the postmaster to get it sorted out. I'll go to the post office to retrieve my mail this afternoon, but I need clarification on which one it is...

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Lou, that looks like a good day to hold the couch down.
That is mostly what I've done today. Helped my nephew fix a starting problem on the old Farmall H over the phone.
And then I've been pulling my hair out (what little I have left) signed up for Medicare Part B today been using my wifes health insurance through her work but they are kicking the cost up considerably for spouses and she is going to retire one of these days so figured I'd get going on it. Researched all the Medigap plans and costs and was feeling comfortable about them then started on the "D" plans, dang talk about sticker shock $4500 to $5000 a year total costs. So now to start digging into the Advantage plans. Fun fun fun NOT.

Good Afternoon Lou,
We went straight Medicare, staying away from the Advantage Plans, mostly because they deny so many medical costs ! My wife was in the health field all her life, and she said that even though Medicare is more expensive, its worth it in the long run ! We also have a Supplemental Plan N through AARP.

If your really healthy and not worried about getting sick, then maybe an Advantage Plan makes sense. Although the way I understand it, if you go that route, I believe its difficult to go back to straight Medicare !

Drew, that oil tank does not look good ! I would be nervous with that amount of rust !If you have even a slight weep of oil through the tank wall, you will want to get that tank tested ! JMO !

Have a good afternoon !

I was preferring to go the Original route with likely an "F" or "G" till I got to the Part D prescriptions and with what I'm on now the annual bill would be pushing $5000 just for prescriptions. I'll have to look into the advantage plans carefully in a bit.

not sure if the plan letters are the same but I've been on plan F through BC/BS with basic medicare plus a prescription plan through Silverscript.
at the time it was the most comprehensive plan, and with my health history, boy was I happy I bought their best program.
I think the prescription plan at 70 bucks a month is a waste, better to use discount card.
My plan F costs me 254 a month.

Ron, did you try out your new camera lens multiplier? If you add that to your long lens, should get some amazing shots.
Might require a tripod though.

Those long lenses are NOT forgiving. don't phart, you will move the lens and there goes the shot.
