Morning all, 72 going to 83 and raining.
Got a few of the little side lawns mowed yesterday before the rain started.

so one quote yesterday to replace oil burner told me $20,000 - $25,000 !!!

Anyone can tell me what a 180-200K btu oil burner install cost you as this seems like nice used car money.

Waiting for 2 more quotes. So much for saving for my sons college.

Got a nice large bowl of figs from the tree yesterday, seems they are finally ripening, all at once.

Be well,

That is a lot money for furnace replacement for sure. How much will the furnace cost without installation?
I replaced a Yukon furnace of similar size multi fuel type furnace.

Good Mirning Guys,
61 with rain going to 75 !

Ken, the top of the line oil burner with all the bells and whistles should be between 15-18K tops with instillation included ! I still drive part time for an oil company and just asked the owner of our company , that is the answer he gave me !

All have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

It's currently a Tarm 50Mcal (about 200K BTU) Heat and domestic water Oil boiler.
It is also connected to my solar hot water storage tank.
The Tarm is huge and has an oil burner and has wood/coal capability on one side.
It is quite a system and I will be sorry to see it go, but it has rust around the top of the boiler and who knows how much it is rusted inside.

Our furnace had overheated and the flue side was leaking flue gas into the forced air section. I bought the same model furnace for about 5000 bucks and replaced it myself. It was not that difficult because all interfaces were the same. It was heavy and handling it in and out was a challenge for sure. A boiler system is more complicated for sure

Waiting for Subaru to get worked on, hopefully it is just a simple rotor replacement and not a major job.
that reminds me, my Subaru still have original brake pads at 158k miles.
I bought new pads a couple years ago, but didn’t need them yet when I checked. Guess it’s getting close now.
