Bupps, prayers for you and your wife. I'm sure there is a lot of pain with it. Also for your toe to heal.

Kyle does this help. New Texas Law S.B. 505 effective September 1, 2023
EV $400 registration fee and $200 yearly fee. Fees collected go to the State Highway Fund.
That is fair. I'm paying about $2.10/day combined federal and state gas tax, just for my commute....so about $1.05 for just state taxes per day.

Good Morning Lou,
Did you go to the Washington County Fair ? I am guessing yes because its almost next door to you in Greenwich ! If so how was it this year ? Much new tractor displays and tractor equipment ? Wish I coiuld have made it !

Do they still have the school bus demolition derby there? I haven’t been there in years, but that was memorable.

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 6.1C and it's presently 16.4C, mostly sunny with a moderate breeze.

Yesterday's 'into town' venture for groceries went well. Home & unpacked, then decided that I'd have a quick lunch, then drive out to Pyengana for the cheese... but first I'd head back into town to see when I could make an appointment to do my tax return (Australia's very 'laid back' when it comes to filing :) ). We go by "financial year", so anytime after the 1st of July you can file with no real 'deadline'.

The lady there said that she could take me later that afternoon (1500), so I drove out to Pyengana only to find that they were closed. <bugger> Winter-hours. Will be open Friday. It's a good thing that the road to and from is a fun drive.

So, home to pick up the tax information = a half hour appointment to get everything sorted and filed.

That's about it, take care all.

In hometown, We got .1" in a matter of a few minutes. enough to knock the dust down.

In College Station, the temp at 5:45pm was 104F

had a worrisome evening last night. 23 years ago, I broke the bone in the tip of my ring finger. The joint at the distal phalange and the middle phalange. Had surgery w/stainless pins way back then to repair it. It's been fine since. Somehow, I injured it and my finger became numb at the tip, and tingles going up to my elbow. There seemed to be a red line on the palm side of my finger from the injury to the palm. I was extremely worried about infection, and got some anxiety, because it was almost 9:30 pm, and we live in a medical desert about an hour away from a decent ER. I was tired and feeling bad, not wanting to drive to an ER... (If you google infection and nerve damage, it will show up with a lot of bad possibilities.) My BP went up, I had overate and was bloated, (wife had made Mexican food) which added to feeling bad. Anyway, we prayed and I told her I had drank a lot of water and would be up multiple times to P throughout the night to monitor it. So about every 1.5-2 hours I woke up to P, and checked it... seemed to be not getting any worse, and my anxiety/bloating had gone down to where I felt better. This morning the numbness/tingling was still there so I went to the clinic. They sent me for an x-ray. X ray showed no breakage, but arthritis has set into the joint and the cartilage is gone. physician's assistant said with no cartilage, it is now prone to nerve damage if I bump it the wrong way, and that it might take weeks to subside. She said the tingling going up to my elbow is the ulnar nerve. I asked if situation could be made better somehow, she said my regular doc would have to order an MRI of the hand and they could look at the joint/nerves better, then maybe a hand surgeon could offer something....but she said don't put a lot of hope into that. She said to take ibuprofen, not necessarily for the pain, but for the inflammation. I haven't taken any yet. My finger is not so swollen anymore. The tingling is more of an annoyance than the pain. I told her a "1" on a scale of 10 for pain. After clinic appointment, I went to work and had a productive day with no mechanical type work.

Work was good. We have more kids that want to come to our school than we can handle Our dept is bursting at the seams. It is crazy glancing out the windows during a class change, and seeing the hustle and bustle of so many kids trying to get to their next class. Scooters, bicycles, mopeds, electric everything...even electric unicycles.

Here you go Drew!

Tomorrow is dentist day for the whole family.
I always thing of the comic strip “B.C.” whn I see one of those…

76°F and cloudy foggy again this morning, only got up to 94° today as it was cloudy most of the day here. Triple digits tomorrow and Friday, then a break back into the 80s for the weekend.

Neglected to mention that I put up a new hoist in the barn this past Sunday. We used to have an electric one, but my Wife's uncle made off with it when her grandmother died, as he did with many things. He tried to take the I-beam and trolley, too, but was convinced to leave them. Been using a come-along and a strap to lift the mowers for cleaning and blade sharpening / replacement. Never was very comfortable with that, even with jack stands. So, bought a one ton chain hoist off Amazon last week. Much easier, and much faster. Probably much safer, too.

Sunset and some swirly clouds painted a nice, colorful sky this evening (at least as well as my iThingie could capture it).
