Good Morning.
It’s 66 with a high in the 80’s today, no rain, light winds, should be a nice day.
Yesterday it rained until early afternoon. I managed to get everything mowed, a lot wetter than I would have liked, it was a damned if I do, damned if I don’t situation. Earlier I did get 5 coats on the speaker, now I’ve got to let it cure before final assembly.

Grandson helped me mow, including blowing off the Progressive and parking it. He wanted to drive the Lazer home instead of the Carryall, so that’s what we did. Had a quick dinner and then went over to a neighbors house to play some music. A pretty full day.

Today I’ve got to go to Martha’s Vineyard and back and then to Washington, PA to pick up a plane from maintenance. While I’m gone, stuff for the transit connect will arrive according to UPS and FedEx. I’m changing the radio to one with a backup camera and apple car play to make it more user friendly for my wife. Also replacing a headlight assembly and the opposite corner tail light, as both have cracks.

Philly airspace will be restricted due to the president’s visit today, but we will be able to make our flights with little impact.

Wife called VDOT for road maintenance. It was a comedy show. "...this is miles of road to maintain". "we cannot do that..." "who did by your driveway?..." "this road is contracted out..." "who said we maintain it?..." "how did you get a work order in?..." "where is the road you want done?..." ROTFL.
Had something like that week or so ago call highway dept..."tree fallen down blocking Brook Rd."...He ask "why" 🙄

discussion of drips reminds me I have to check the oil pads this morning to locate the leak.
Once I know the area, I want to powerwash the Gravely.
It's been in my friend's barn for last three years, used a little, but never cleaned before he got it.
I have hundreds of pics of this Gravely being restored, one of my most fun projects. Now it looks well used, as it should.
It has its second patina. I took this little tractor down to the frame, many coats of primer and Gravely rattle can red.
Stuff is like twelve bucks a can now.

taking care of a tool that potentially can last forever is a lot of fun. The complete opposite of disposable.

thomas your weather sounds wonderful, pretty sure mold will be growing here from the dampness. Actually I'm getting some great lichens growing on
front stump.

I got red paint all over that garage despite being careful. Had to repaint it white when done.
My first restoration. That little guide wheel tells it all. At least prior owner liked to grease.
And often under all that nasty grease, when you clean it all off, there's shiny paint underneath.

grease outside a bearing sure doesn't accomplish much

I don't have that weight box any more, but it sure worked nicely when I was using the snowblower

Good morning, 69 going to 88 today no rain around. Grass is not growing

Yesterday was office, bill paperwork day and today going to PO to drop off
The farm insurance and car insurances have gone up big time.
The new string trimmer showed up. I really like it, light and works well on the 080 twisted string. Have 095 twisted string in shipping and hopefully it works even better

Ordered a new hair clipper. The old one is not holding charge very well

Wife is sleeping in this morning. Good for her. Cody is watching her because when she gets up he gets his Green Cabbage snack

Blew off the driveway and porch around the house yesterday with the Milwaukee blower. Really changes the look

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

64.4F going to mid 80s, T-storms later.

Running around with mom was good, had a nice lunch, got some odds-n-ends from thrift store, nothing major but useful things like a nice enameled double-boiler for $2 and some railing clamp tikis torch holders.

Found anCraigslist as for an 8x13 chain link dog run for $100, and a large Dogloo for $20, so Harry can be kept contained up at the woodlot while we work 😎

Mrs found a FB as from the gentleman we bought the wad from last year, he is divesting his deceased wife’s doll collection. Mrs intend to gift them to chosen relatives’s children, so morning run to Georgia. Hopefully the weather stays reasonable for the drive - as in, no torrential downpours or excessive winds until we get back home 😁

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 4:45AM. Sunny. Hot. High 104F. Winds light and variable.

Started yesterday with a phone call to the loan company, asking questions about assuming the loan. After only a few minutes on hold, a very nice lady, who spoke wonderful American English, answered my questions. She couldn't answer detailed questions about my soon-to-be loan, but she did offer to forward a copy of the contract to the current holder, who could then forward it to me. The seller claimed to have asked for one earlier, but it still hadn't appeared. Later in the day I had it on screen and had the complete picture of what the payments will be and how long they will last. And that's all I ever really wanted to know.

Made arrangements for a termite inspection, also on Friday, so hopefully will be able to release contingencies sometime next week. Escrow is supposed to finish on August 11th, but I'm hoping we can close sooner.

Almost finished spraying before the side-by-side overheated again, so switched over to stringing drip tube on the house again. Got the north side done, and started up the fascia on the east and west sides, and stopped when the 8-foot step ladder wouldn't get me high enough. Got maybe 2/3 of the south side done when I ran out of the old tubing. There's a new roll of the stuff in the trailer to finish the job with. But by then it was 5PM and long past time to get in out of the heat.

Today's a travel day. Noticed that the cover on the Camry was covered in dust, so hosed it off after I cleaned out the sprayer. Hopefully it dried overnight, but in those temperatures, there's little doubt it did. All packed up, all I have to do is load it this morning and scoot. After breakfast...

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

67 outside this AM. Heading to 90. Nice morning fog over the pastures. Looks like a walk with the weed whacker is in order today.

Found the multi-meter. It was in the house. I forgot I keep most electronics in the house. The ZTR PTO switch looks good. That must mean the clutch is out. Beyond my limited expertise. It will require getting under the ZTR and torque on belts and whatnot. Not happening. I need to find a dealer to see what they can do and how fast they can turn it around. One thing I don't have here is a flat bed trailer. So pickup and delivery costs come into play too.

I should take the time to hop in the pool, you know, before summer is over. The water looks pristine. That will get the mind clear of all the noise going on and things on the list.

Not to many frogs in the koi-less pond this year. Lots of turtles. Not many turkey sightings this year. And one lone deer is all I see in the evening. Wonder where everyone went?

Wife called VDOT for road maintenance. It was a comedy show. "...this is miles of road to maintain". "we cannot do that..." "who did by your driveway?..." "this road is contracted out..." "who said we maintain it?..." "how did you get a work order in?..." "where is the road you want done?..." ROTFL.

Hope all deal with the weather in a good way. Here, just hazy, hot and humid. Been fortunate not to have the extremes. Be safe in your under takings today. Enjoy the day.
Back when I was commuting, a pothole appeared on a main road — actually more of a washtub-hole than a pot-hole— and after the third time I hit it and almost lost fillings (not to mention the WHAM!!! the vehicle took…) I called our county road department and gave them the exact location and explained how bad it was, and then explained I was probably understating how bad It was, and then made sure I was another lane over.

To my shock and amazement, they had it fixed two days later! On a Friday no less!

Monday, I called th road department back and got the same lady, and said that I had called the previous week about the horrid pothole and she immediately got defensive and loudly stated “WE FIXED IT FRIDAY!!!”

I replied “I know — I am calling to say Thank you. My vehicle thanks you, my kidneys than you, my back fillings thank you. And thank the crew for getting it done so quickly.”

Stunned silence. Then,

”nobody ever thanks us.”
