Mowed the big field this afternoon. Was long overdue and took longer than it should have and now there is layer of clippings all over but it will rot down soon.

Worked some more on the pressure washer pump. Old one is apart as well as the (new) one. One of the one way halves recessed into the housing was not working and pulling it out was a challenge until I remembered I had a seal puller that had replaceable legs depending on size.

Also stacked some more wood 2 loads as planned per day. It is starting to add up and up to about 7 or 8 high. Will stack it up to the ceiling and then go for second row.

Mowed the field, lots of bugs, had to keep
Mouth closed, and eyes almost closed.

Need to do the lot this coming week, maybe Tuesday.

Storm yesterday knocked corn over. I tried to lift it back up, ground is so soft it fell back down, but more in the row instead of sideways.
Beans not looking too good. Potatoes blooming, picked 1 more little cucumber.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 3.5C and it's presently 4.6C, clear & calm (for the moment). There was 5mm of rain in the gauge @ 0730.

The ointment is working wonders on "Rum"'s eye, the 'MAHW' is pleased. No up-date on which end the pills are entering, though.

I'm off to Church in a half hour, then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

Another day with the morning dominated by wetness.

But had “fun” anyway. Have had a mysterious, recurring Amazon Prime charge show up on my credit card. Card isn’t listed on the Amazon account, nor the charges. Our Prime is paid annually and we don’t do the rents or purchases, so a mystery.
First call was to Chase. I reluctantly decided to just cancel the card. Nope. Chase said I had to get the charges cancelled by Amazon.

Combination of Chat and phone, it only took another hour and half. Provided Amazon with the transaction identifiers from CC statements. I had hoped they could ID the beneficiary, but if so I never got a hint even though I suspect they after numerous pointed questions. Charges reversed and refund issued along with recommendation to cancel the card.
Digging further, I believe the card was lightly compromised on my trip to Honolulu. Really looking forward to updated the linked accounts - NOT.

back in the rv, waiting for the heavens to open up.
Great fun meeting RS and his wife at their home.
Lots of beautiful flowers to look at, and I was admiring his tomatoes.

we went out to a local restaurant and had a fun time coming home.
Campground closes at 7pm, allegedly. No problem, plenty of time.
Road closed. Road Closed. Road closed.
we felt we were doomed, thankfully RS grew up this area and knew every shortcut. Got back with five minutes to spare.

Really nice tour of downtown Akron.
This is the town of rubber for sure. Huge plants for Goodyear and Firestone. The area isn't even industrial looking they have landscaped and planned the area, with parks nearby. Everywhere you looked, something was named Firestone. Very interesting.
University of Akron was very large.
Great time to be downtown, not much traffic on Saturday.

RS's wife made a homemade rhubarb pie and I can't wait to try it.

tomorrow is my longest day, but it's all PA turnpike, 360 miles to campground in Lancaster. I wonder if I'll get a hundred dollar EZ Pass charge... :cautious:

Your hornets might have more than 1 entry? (Or are these even ground hornets?)

Do you spray to kill everything on your walking path? I've got a bermuda grass lawn, but have problems with dallis grass and other invasive weeds. I've read where you can mix a very light ratio batch of glyphosate and it won't kill the bermuda but will kill most of the weeds in a broad application. I do know that if you mix it regular strength, it will kill the bermuda too. The other alternative is MSMA which is selective and will kill most weeds. I believe they still use that on turf grass lawns and maybe golf courses. It is not available to the general public.
Two of the nests are in ground...yellow jackets...I think I've got them. The other is a European hornet nest...inside a royal paulownia tree...they come and go from a small hole, smaller than a quarter dollar...same hollow that the honey bees swarmed into 2 years ago...about 15 feet from our porch door. There are other ways in and out, but they only use this one. I shoot them with spray and they laugh.

My spraying is on food plots...I'm getting them ready for fall planting (late August/Sept.). One has the worst infestation of Virginia Buttonweed I've ever seen.

Glad you're doing well. Hope your son hasn't encountered any more snakes at the tank, but lots of big fish.

Good evening all. 76ºF for the start, overcast sky with intermittent sprinkles, light breeze. Bike ride to start day, stopped after 30 miles to get boat ready to launch and launch.
