Poured first cup of coffee. 60° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 80° with mix of sun and clouds. Got .2" of rain yesterday. Grocery shopping went good. After rain stopped did pond maintainace. Should be good for another week. Today taking Sassy to groomer. Should look like a cute dog. instead of a Rag Mop. Then Drew coming is by for a overnight stay.

pretty long drive today but should not be hard, over the big bridge, and straight shot down Rt 75

slowly waking up, time for shower and will just take my time this morning. SIL told me not to leave too early due to deer.

god has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

66.2F going to mid 80’s, possible thunderstorms later. Local weather service issued a generic forecast basically saying that this is the forecast for the next two weeks and we’ll let you know if anything changes…

Yeaterday was Mrs’ trip to orthopedist that we dry-ran the trip two weeks ago. The drive was anticlimactic and we got there 40 minutes early. Mom came along and we had early lunch afterward at a good steak place, then went to the big Publix and got stuff our local supermarkets done carry. I have to wndforce the rule that anything bulky we can get locally does not go I. The cart unless it is at least 25% cheaper.

we also did another experiment and left Harry out and he did well for the 7-1/2 hours. YAY!!! It helps that I put a Ring camera with pan/tilt in the living room to monitor the situation. Mrs LOVES the PuppyCam!

need to make appointment for regularly-scheduled maintenance on the pickup, maybe go up the woodlot and do some stuff since it was dry overnight. This week I have to start cutting next year’s firewood, and milling boards for making the porch on the new shed we got a coupl weeks ago.

Hope everyone had a nice 4th.
Neighbors here started setting off fireworks so I remembered I had some in the garage from years ago and thought may as well set them off. One was this cardboard tube you drop these color fused things in. We went out on the porch and I'm in my underwear.
I lit it without reading directions and held it up high. First "BOOM!" and it blew the bottom out. That's when I thought it probably should be on the ground. After quickly setting it down I realized not a good idea setting fireworks off in your underwear...I mean while WEARING underwear.
It was right spectacular and hopefully my beard and other hair will grow back.View attachment 809565

Sometime between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon the wheat at the farm was harvested. It didn't look that good to me, kind of beat down and dirty. When I went up after lunch Thursday they were raking straw. It also didn't look that good. Just before I left they were bailing straw.

I got the meadows mowed but I was thinking the mower wasn't cutting that good when I noticed the deck lift pedal was pressed so it was mowing really high. I don't know when that happened or who was responsible but I guess it will be corrected next week.

We are getting peaches from the farm stand and they are gooood. My wife brought in a handful of green beans that looked like the premium beans that you get at a good restaurant. Yum. There are bowls of red raspberries and blueberries on the kitchen counter. I love summer.
