Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 3.3C and it's presently 11.8C, partly cloudy, calm and there was 0.7mm in the gauge @ 0900.

It's 'into town day' for mail and groceries. I'm contemplating doing a wee bit of tree limb trimming... the downside to that is that I may not know when to stop. :) When I've got a 'limbing' tool in my hand (secateur, sawzall, chainsaw) I always seem to spot "just one more" branch.

That's about it, take care all.

very fun parade this morning in cedarville MI.
my internet is so slow here hard to post pics, but took lots with good camera and will post when I can.
my favorite local color was the group of employees of the local (only) supermarket, all pushing grocery carts.
big emphasis on fire company snow cats, some interesting equipment shown. It's different here, the whole lake outside the town freezes up solid in winter

Mostly an energy conservation day. Last day of a 4 day weekend. I needed it - I enjoyed.
Cleaned the gutters and mowed the front yard. Played in the welding shop. Made a hammer wrench for the tractor tool box.
I noticed I have clocked 100 hours on the MX5200 I bought last August. Still love it.

70F and clear @ 22:00, headed down to around 65F for the overnight low.

High temp hit 87.6F here today, felt pretty oppressive with the high humidity.

Got meds doled out first thing.

Collected up plastic bags and paper/cardboard for recycling and loaded those in the car.

Worked on one set of the Craftsman dual flood lights, replaced both bulbs ... looks like switch is bad on one side. Did a little research on new switch for that.

Then topped off gear oil in front axle and hydraulic fluid in Kubota.

Did some box blade and loader work on flower bed on west side of the frog pond, blocked off a couple of burrow entrances. Was pretty wet. Should be drier tomorrow. Did not get to deploy smoke bomb.

Swapped out bucket for forks and moved pallet with 4 bags of salt around back. Got that moved back into the utility room next to the softener.

Also moved all the rolls of insulation back into the utility room.

Moved springs from the old mattress while I had forks on.

Unrolled lawn edging and weighted it down so it would lose the curl.

Woman cooked up some spicy sausage for lunch.

Took Stihl pole saw over and trimmed a couple of low-ish branches on the large maple tree over the hosta bed on the northeast side. Still required full extension (11 1/2') to reach them so it was a bit of a workout. Did some additional trimming on a couple other maples as well:

Two loads of branches taken up to the brush pile:

Jiggered a couple of pallets of firewood around on the way back.

Woman worked on raking and gathering up the old leaves on the bed while I was trimming. Two dump cart loads and two bucket loads of leaves taken up and added to the compost pile.

Screened a few more bucketloads of compost while I was up there. Screen now full, needs unloaded.

Sprayed some the weeds in the beds where I was trimming branches with glyphosate, also edge of east bed. Need to mix up more weed juice.

Woman grilled some Hebrew Nationals and heated up some Bush's Baked Beans for dinner.

Collected up tools and brought them back to the house after dinner.

Then took trash up to the can at the road and set it out for pick up tomorrow.

Woman went around back and sprayed cabbage plants with Neem oil while I was doing that.

Got one more Japanese beetle trap hung on the Redbud tree on the east side.

Watched 4th Celebration in DC.

Hope everyone had a good 4th ... (y)

Great gathering , 48 if my count is good. Tons and tons of great food which I saw more than ate. 🤙 Had to set up extra table for desserts. Best part was the camaraderie. 3 years since last 4th gathering. But boy, I am whupped.
