Good Morning
68 supposed to go up about 10 degrees before it starts raining, which we really need.

Yesterday started with a little tinkering on the little plane, then got cleaned up and headed to banquet for friend to receive his FAA award. That was a nice time, I used WAZE for directions, it took me on many back roads that I had never been on before, actually a pretty scenic route. I was wondering why I saw so many motorcycles on the roads until I realized I went past Welcome on the way.
Didn’t get much accomplished after I got home, unloaded wife’s farmers market wares, cleaned up the smoker and grill and covered them up in anticipation of the incoming rain.

Today I’m going to take a ride to Primeweld with a friend to pick up a welding table for him, it’s about an hour and a half away, but will be interesting. I have their TIG welder and Plasma cutter and am very pleased with them both. I wonder what I will come back with that I didn’t know I needed.

I’m thinking about giving the tractor and car a bath before I go, the discussion of foam cannons planted the seed for that.

Drew, there is a very contentious thread regarding EV’s already. You can read all about it in that thread.

Yes, and reading it you will find that Tesla owners are willing to pay more for the monthly fee for semi auto drive than most pay for gasoline in a month.

Popgadget, I was using waze when I left your place, it kept trying to take me down to a toll road, which I don’t do. So I made some turns to try to get north to 309, ended up going thru sellersville, then Waze took me on a tiny backroad under 309. I finally had to enter Quakertown as my destination. Waze took me on some backroads.
Then Waze did same thing last week as I tried to bypass big I40 backup in Knoxville. I looked at google map and took a road to take me past it, but then Waze kept trying to turn me around and send me back into the backup. It eventually had me on a narrow 1.5 lane backroad northwest of Knoxville. Using google maps I eventually got back to civilization and got back down to I40 past the backup.
Waze is nice, but beware as it will not always offer the best route.

I did find how to tell Waze not to take toll roads.

Good Morning!!!! 62F @ 5:15AM. Showers early, then partly cloudy for the afternoon. High around 80F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%.
It rained last night, but with only 0.09" of accumulation. It's raining again right now, but only 0.01" has accumulated. Radar says it's a small cell passing through, and won't last more than a few minutes. But it's been enough for me to get an idea of what rain sounds like on the new steel roof, and it isn't making any more noise than it did on the concrete tiles that used to be up there. The gutters are gurgling, same as before.

Elon Musk has had lots of practice changing prices and rules on his customers. Just ask any Starlink user.

Sounds like a good ride, Bruce. Were all the roads dirt/gravel?

My neighbor with the bulldozer has a cherry orchard, Drew. Last year the crop was ruined by hail, and the harvest was cleaned out by birds before they could even open. It's a U--Pick arrangement, so they made no money. This year is a bumper crop from all the rain we've had, and picking has been going on for several weeks. The life of a farmer.

Got the tires changed on the side-by-side, but had no luck getting the beads to seat. Both cans of starter fluid on the shelf were empty, and even wrapping two ratchet straps around the circumference of the tire didn't work. I'll either find a tire shop in town that can do it, or go in and pick up more starting fluid. When I go depends on the roofers, that were supposed to come to finish the job today. The rain might change their plans.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a smooth start.

Morning all, 68 going up to 83 and a few drops of rain we are being assured will turn into real rain later.
Completed 2phase of stair repair and may need to do some more work to finish squaring off and fill on the cracks.
Went to visit son at job, guess he passed the training as they gave him more shifts.
He has friends sleeping over tonight, so probably won't get much sleep with them running around.
Afternoon at the pool was relaxing.

Mostly - welcome back , looks like fun

Back to the day job, big presentations this week to execs.

Lots of work for a small job, getting the .1 to 1" cracks filled so water does not keep going under the flagstones.

I've been hunting cherries this morning.
as in where to pull in the motorhome at a cherry farm in Northern Michigan.
figured I'd add a day to this trip, subtracting one from time in Cedarville, to spend a night in N/W Michigan.
Highly rated campground near Traverse City, pretty snooty, only class A, C and fifth wheel. No B or conventional trailer. ??
well for one night. And 28 feet minimum. Ooohhh by a hair length with the spare tire am I 28 feet long...

So I come up from Ron's home West of Detroit and loop off to the West to take in the shoreline drive finally leading up to Mackinaw bridge.
On the way back RS is going to come visit me in my campground at (sure had to look this name up...) Mogadore Ohio.

I found some cheap sparklers in the supermarket locally, that was easy, so hope to arrive in Cedarville with a cherry pie and sparklers.
and a whole bunch of little American flags I need to decorate the rv site with.

You can pick up a Cherry Pie close to my place.

I have not read any of it. If it's contentious, I'll stay away.
be there, done that, that was no fun
we don't come here to get depressed or ticked off...

just trying to stay informed

threatening rain but nothing so far. I have these two ugly stumps I need to get rid of.
I have several alternatives. Because the root structure is clearly rotting there is a spongy feel underneath and the whole
area would need leveling. I'm not doing that by hand. And a stump grinder only does so much.
If I get a backhoe in, either borrowed or rented, then what do I do with the refuse? No easy solution for that other than paying for a landscaper to haul it away.
Stump grinder leaves a big pile of chips. I want dirt and grass seed, so thinking back hoe is the right tool.
otherwise roots left to rot will subside.
perhaps just a good excuse to dig around in the dirt.

my BIL is an excavator. He might enjoy doing this.

great pic of your son Ken. Welcome to the food service industry.

Ron, thanks. I'm stopping at this cherry orchard on the way. Thought if I bought it where they grew it, ?

might get something there for trip home though. I do love cherry pie.

A rental hoe or excavator would do a quick job of removing those old stumps. Choose whichever is cheapest... myself I prefer the backhoe. Just because you should never underestimate the value of overkill.
