32 with haze @ 22:00 and headed down to 31F for the overnight low. Has been raining on and off most of the day.
Threw in the towel after about 30 minutes of searching for the silicone faucet grease and made the run over to the Depot to pick up another tube.
Woman asked before I left "You have your wallet ?"
Oh yeah sure ... you betcha ! ...
Guess the next time I get asked that question I'll actually reach back and check my pocket.
So after making all the way over there and opening the car door to get out I made the run back home. She was waiting at the door.
Got the grease, plus a couple of other knickknacks and beat it back home.
And after eating dinner got back into the plumbing project.
I had gotten the seat for the hot water side of the valve out earlier. That one was really critical - not a huge deal if the diverter for the shower drips a little out of the tub spout when it's diverted but need to have the hot and cold up to snuff to stop the water leakage/constant drip.
Diverter seat was a "no-go" after some additional heating and soaking with Blaster. I was putting so much torque on it I was afraid I was going to trash it completely. Woman kept wanting me to get a pipe and put the juice to it.
Nah ... don't think so ... it's only brass ...
So I went up to the shop found an aluminum oxide grinding stone that was long enough to reach back into the valve to the reach the diverter seat and gave it a little resurfacing. Looks like it got all the pits out.
At any rate, valve is all reassembled with new components except for that one seat, water is back on and best of all no leaks, no drips. Only requires a light twist to stop the flow and seal the v alve:

Think I might try taking the hot and cold stems apart, cleaning them up, and replacing the gaskets/washers just to have spares on hand.
Now on to getting new wall board put up and the tile rehung.
In other news no bird feeders were filled and no fish were fed ... cats are eating really good though ...
Also got the top on the router table removed and the broken back panel removed. Will probably go ahead and stick a new top (and casters) on it for the time being so it can at least be used and then rebuild the rest of the table later when I get more time since the cabinet is essentially junk. Woman thinks it have originally been an old bathroom vanity that was repurposed ... looking at it that sounds about right.
Hope everyone had a great Sunday ...
