good morning all
good to hear from PJ. Glad new job going ok.

finally got a call from local guy who owns the motorhome I was interested in seeing.
Going over at 3pm today to check it out. Asked BIL to come along, he owns an excavating company with lots of big
equipment, more mechanical than I am. I need to crawl underneath this rv and check for leaks and wear on the suspension air bags.
Very hard on my neck, so he will do half and I will do half. If it's nice, will go for test ride, not far from rt 95. Need to get it up to speed and observe.
not sure how well it has been maintained, plus it's been sitting basically for last year. I asked for a cold start.

66k on engine, not much for a Freightliner with Cummins/Allison combo.
More issues of age. At 15 years old, may be some deferred maintenance. For sure, some new tires, belts, all the wear items. I owned an old motoryacht....very similar issues.
Every system must be proven. Has been kept in garage, which is good, but I bet roof has issues or needs resealing. Thankfully have owned three rv's and am very well aware it's not if things will break but when. Maintenance is everything. I'd much rather replace a part than worrying about it failing in Georgia.

remember I broke down in North Louisiana last time (truly busted down in Baton Rouge) and had to return home to PA with a broken motorhome that had parts backordered for weeks.
Once burned, three times learned. Of course no way to get perfect reliability.

very good school board meeting yesterday, nice to see folks in person, usually we just zoom. Got a lot done too.
now to make breakfast with those nice brown eggs given to me.

Ron, isn't it nice when it all goes together smoothly?

Good morning, the low temp was 25 and going to a high of 30°F. Wind W 5 mph. Periods of light freezing rain mixed with snow. I got lots of ashes, three and a half 5 gallon pails of them. If it gets too thick, I can run the tractor over the flat surfaces and its' weight coupled with the tire chains will break it up.

I think today will be an energy conservation day for sure.

Have a safe day all

Good evening all. 44ºF for the start, overcast, light breeze. Moderate wind, rain, clearing in afternoon, and high temp was 60ºF. Bike ride to start the day, 54 miles, near intended end of ride, stopped ans only unclipped one pedal, moved to better stay out of traffic and fell over :( Broke derailluer hanger, and twisted brake lever. Raspberry on right knew and pride only personal injuries. Got ride home, Volagi down until I can locate new hanger. Peugeot will be in use for a week or two. Went to stepdaughter's for some smoked ribs for dinner.

Oh yeah - I had some dead standing hazard trees to take down p, and one of them got hung up and I had to waste some time dealing with that. 200’ of rope and some persuasion from the pickup And it came down, shattering on the way down. And since that was right on our main hiking path, it was important to get down. But the time wasted between rigging and pulling cut into “real” tree cutting, — but I got one very nice black walnut and it yielded three straight sections of 12’ - 12’ - 10’, plus some good smaller pieces for posts and wire wood and fence palings.

Good day yesterday. Finished up my fuel tote project. Got a 55 gal drum with an electric pump and forklift adapter. Should be easy enough to live with. Fixed the Hydraulic fitting leak on the new pallet fork grapple. Cheap little project for an old set of forks lying around. Now I can clear the creek of all the brush and debris. Should be handy handling tree branches and such too. Almost reached 60º yesterday... If it gets that warm today I'll do some tractoring. Plenty of drainage and weed abatement work after the storms.
