Ron, seemed like light coming in the bedroom window and I had taken Santa down, hmmmm.
ahhh, it was your moon lighting up the night.

Did you hear the Wolf Howling.

Found out why Sassy got me up twice last night. Forgot to change batteries in a smoke/carbon monoxide detector. Guess I will not have to worry about not hearing one of the 6 go off if she is around.

Good Morning.
It’s 39 and overcast supposed to go up less than 10 degrees and clear up.

Yesterday’s meeting with solar contractor went well, as did breakfast with the professor.
Puttered around the shop for a bit, moved grain and shavings into the barn, the ground is an absolute swamp, we carried them rather than make serious rats.
Youngest son and DIL came for dinner and brought their dog to wear Zoe out. Worked pretty well. Got the trash and recycling down the lane to the street, and called it a day.

Today I’m off to Stuart,FL for a quick drop off and then home to play music tonight. Won’t be here in time to put anything In the crockpot, might be a pizza night.

That reminds me. When I split my Starlink into 5G and 2.4G network the other day,
(To pick up 2.4G only weather station) it lost all previous wireless connections, and I need to reconnect the thermostats. I’m sure there are others, did printer yesterday.

My next old brother who works up near Rich said his number is 5.

Morning all;
Another warm morning in the Northeast today 40F to wake up with. Plus more showers and a chance of a tiny bit of snow.
Going over to the farm this morning to help move 30 head of beef across the road to a different feed lot field, mud and more mud.
But my main function will be stopping traffic as the cows are crossing the road, the laneway that the cows use is about 150 ft from a knoll that blocks traffics view of the cows till they top it and we have to many idiots that like to speed on these roads, so I park in the middle of the road and stand there next to it.
All this talk of these high powered speakers and amplifiers always amuse me, I have never liked loud music of any kind.
My best stero was a Sony I bought in Japan in late 1973 and I don't have any idea now what the output was, I never turned the volume knob past 1/4 way up. :D
:D Plus with my hearing I miss lots of the higher notes, I can tell when speakers have a "tinny" sound and don't care for that.

my sister on the CA coast keeps sending me little videos of huge waves coming in. Next batch of rain hits them today and keeps on raining for many days.
I don't think this will end well except for the reservoirs. At least the forecast is for less than two inches a day.
Here, about three hours north of the San Francisco Bay Area, we're in for more rain, and the big worry is flooding in the riverbeds. On my way to town yesterday, thousands of acres were under water that are normally dry. The ground is already saturated and any more rain that comes down will head straight to the rivers, or at least try to. I'm on high ground, but my path yesterday crossed a few places where I've never seen water flowing across the road. Not deep enough to worry about yet, but many of my neighbors need to cross creeks at crossings that are already impassible. Gonna be a long ten days for them.

Morning all, 44 going up to 48 and dark/cloudy.
Worked in some more foam panels and only a few trim pieces to go before tape/seal.

Looking at fire resistant sheetrock to put directly onto foam boards with tapcons since I don't have to run utilities in the walls.

Looking at mini -splits like the newer Mr. Cools DIY kits so I don't have to buy a million extra tools. Might go dual zone to add in basement living space. Not sure where to put compressor though and need to check box to make sure I have space.

Check - sounds like wife needs arm protectors or bubble wrap

Wngsprd - Kimchi was probably home made (I have a jar in the fridge which we use with Bulgogi-Korean BBQ). I have worked with a number of Koreans, like my boss who just quit. They have a drink called Soju, really strong stuff.

Ron- how do smoke detectors know to have battery failures at 2am? Seems to always happen.

Lou - good luck with cattle move.

Work rolled out a new review app, more work to fill in, but better than old Word based process.

I still get very tired doing any physical work. Hope that gets better soon, really slowing me down.

Be well,

Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 5:00AM. Showers early, then cloudy in the afternoon. High 57F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

Contractor was supposed to show up yesterday to see about the roof repair, but called to beg off, not wanting to be up there in the rain. Can't say I blame him. Gonna try again today.

I got what I needed done in town yesterday, taking it real easy in the rain on the drive. Didn't see any accidents, but people were still driving like their hair was on fire, so maybe I just missed them.

Neighbor came over with the mirror mounts for a new-to-him RTV, a CanAm four seater. We were hoping to bore them out to fit his roll bar, but there wasn't enough material. Ended up making a new set, and not quite finished. I'll work on them this morning until it stops raining, then I've got some outside stuff to do.

Noticed that a fair sized tree had come down up at the front gate, blocking the road down to the old boat launch. It's been partially blocking the view of the security cam up there, and I've been waiting for a dry spell to take it down. A PG&E worker was out running the power lines last week and complained there were more trees lower down the road, and I'm hoping the utility crew will take care of this tree when they get around tuit. I have no need to get down there any time soon.

This weather calls for another batch of beef stew, so I might get started on that today, too. I use wild rice instead of potatoes for a lighter meal.

Watched another YouTube video where a mechanic replaced u-joints on the front axles of a Ford F250 that were causing the truck to wander going down the road. Sounds a lot like what's going on here, but won't know until I get in there. Not gonna happen until it stops raining, though.

TGIF gang!

The industry standard for listening in studio booths is 88dB IIRC. . . BUT when you are dj’ing a high school dance in a cafeteria you play it at 11 🤣😂

A jolly good morning to everyone,
It is 46F and foggy here, which is the overnight low. Forecast high is 53 with clearing skies.

With a bit of digging I found what I believe to be all of our DVD's and VHS movies as well as most of our CD's. There are some CD's missing so the hunt will continue today. Since I found the CD's, I decided to just kick back and enjoy a few. Towards that end, I finished setting up the stereo that we inherited from my BIL when he passed. Marantz CD player, Crown preamp, Crown amp and B&W 801 speakers. Sounds great but Liz hates the large speakers in the living room.

Dug out the drone and charged up the batteries and downloaded the latest software. Liz wants to get some pics of what our new neighbor is doing on his property. Luckily he is 3 lots over and not right next to us. He has been clear cutting the land and digging up some of the marsh land. He is doing it without a permit and he is violating, county, state and federal laws. The property is gated, he works on it nights and weekends when the authorities aren't around, otherwise the gate is locked preventing access. From talking with folks who have met him, his arrogance knows no bounds.

Liz is due home today, so a bit of cleanup before she arrives is in order.

Present credit card is due to expire this month, haven't received a new one yet. Called CC company, asking when new one was due. They announced without further comment that my present card was cancelled and a new card with a new number would be mailed out today. Glad my trip to Maine was delayed as having no CC would make that trip a bit more difficult. I also found out my CC interest, which had been 9.9% for the last 15 years, is now 17.9%!!!! Time to get my balance to 0 and keep it paid off.

Time to get the coffee started and feed and walk the dog.

Lets all be safe out there.

Just picked one up, sitting in the Milk House ready to go. Have template on wall, just need to bust through concrete for service lines. Hang it, connect it and turn it on. LOL.

I am not much of a DYI person, but the price for contractors to install these units "mini-splits" are close to ten times higher than what I paid. Delivery was less than five days, to my back door.
