Good morning!!!!

I am thinking of investing in one of these, because of an old shoulder dislocation that makes its presence known after the fourth or fifth heave:

I'm thinking of something along those lines. I have a ton of pines that have no branches to snag for the first 50-80 ft. NO way am I tossing a throw bag that high!!
I was actually thinking of something more like this:
For a few dollars more, I like yours better.

Good Morning, hope all is well with everybody,
It is presently 60F after an overnight low of 51 under cloudy foggy rainy skies, forecast high is 58!!??
Rain started about 3:30 this morning and we have received 0.27" so far, due to rain on and off all day.
Yesterdays forecast high was 57, got to 65, boy was I over dressed and roasting while running my errands.

Dropped off previous homeowners mail, after almost 2 years it shows up still now and again and I know where their son works so I give it to him.

Did a dump run, thanks to somebody here reminding me that was something I needed to do.

Went to get my 2nd shingles shot. Walgreens refused to take my check, wouldn't tell my why, just that I needed to find 'another form of tender'. Walked next door to my bank, they couldn't find anything wrong with my check, or account. They took my check, handed me cash and I went back and got my shot. When Pharmacist gave me the shot, she admitted there was something wrong with their register that reads checks.

Didn't sleep well last night as my arm was sore where I got the shot.

One dog morning- When I got up this morning I was freezing, the house was at normal temps. Not sure if it was a reaction to the shot or if I am coming down with something. I went back to bed and had our 92lb lap mutt curl up next to me... that warmed me up just fine.

Didn't get any of the felled tree cut up. I had planned on doing a little maintenance to my chain saws before I went at it but my errands took longer than planned. With it being a rainy day, I will take the time to do a more thorough cleaning/sharpening. Will tackle the tree tomorrow.

Stay warm and be careful out there.

Don, why the high skinny rice tires on that Kubota?
what is it normally used for?
would think the ride would be pretty stiff, like thin wall high performance tires]]
What LouNY said but I don't know specifically which crops they use the high crop tractor on since I've only worked in the Fall/Winter, but I'll find out.

Good morning! 39˚F with South winds and cloudless skies we will be getting up to the mid 70s. 2 more days of the Christmas festival then I can join BEF. But a new year just means the seasons start over.
March, April - Easter egg hunts and adult Easter egg hunts.
June, July - Sunflower and wine Festival
September, November - Fall Festival
November, December - Christmas Festival

Happy Birthday Margaret and Wagtail!!

Good (Saturday) early arvo. Overnight Low of 15C and it's presently 25.6C, mostly overcast, calm and there was 13mm in the gauge at 0900.

Well, I wasn't going to mention it but today is one of those momentous days in my life that I thought I'd share it with my TBN Mates. Today (31st, NYE) is my 65th birthday and I'm surrounded by family & friends for the occasion... however, yesterday was my last day in the Royal Australian Navy (Reserve). All told, that's a bit over 47 years (Regular/Reserve) of Service.

Anyway, nothing is planned for today (glorious weather) apart from a restaurant dinner tonight and attempting to 'stay up' for midnight and the annual, worldwide, firework displays that mark the end of my BD.

That's about it, take care all and have a happy New Year.
Good for you, wagtail, and happy birthday from a fellow Albertan!

ten o'clock in the morning, new year's eve (or day for some of our precocious members)
foggy as can be out, I assume because air is warmer than soil.

got all the ornaments packed away, took a break before carrying those totes downstairs.
am very careful going down stairs carrying things.
so doing some wash and taking a decoration box down each trip.
decided I wasn't going anywhere today so I'm in sweat pants and bedroom slippers.
comfortable as can be.

I will leave the christmas tree up with just the lights on it, for my neighbor across the street, until tomorrow.
She already emailed me lamenting my lights and Santa were gone. Tomorrow the tree goes in the basement.

one of these trips downstairs I intend to soak in the hot tub. Took a good shower this morning and I know the hot tub is low
on chemicals, the floating thing sounds almost empty. So I have to put in a new cartridge. But until I do, which always make the bromine smell stronger, I have
this nice non smelling water to float in.

At some point I'm going to have to drain this thing, wipe out the bottom and then refill it.
Haven't thought this all the way through regarding the sump pump; am thinking I might need to get a little portable electric pump.
Easy to get the water in, with a hose. A bit different to get it out when you have almost no gravity to deal, might take forever to drain.

might be worth a trip to HF to look for a little electric pump.

SIL got me out to the new hunting property yesterday. 25 degrees, sunny and no wind. We cleared some proposed "food plot" areas and did some hinge cutting. The new/replacement Husq 440 did good. I dropped a couple big oaks, and they actually fell where I aimed 'em. Saw some turkey sign also, which is a bonus. It's a hilly 11 acres, with a pond. He's really motivated. I'm sore today, from all the free exercise (which is a good thing).

42 going up to 52 and cloudy/foggy.

Got the rest of the metal shelves down. Got the anchor screws out and the holes filled in with quick patch. I want to reuse the shelves as they are much thicker/heavier than anything sold in the box stores today. Some sand and paint should be all they need.
No more fingers hurt in the process :) But it is hard doing this mostly one handed.
1 more outlet to remove and then the last of the panels will go up.
Then tape/filler to seal it all up.

Off to friends for new years, son wants to bring friend. Trying to figure out how four of them will fit in back seat of jeep.......Wife making lasagna, spent time yesterday searching for lactose free ricotta, mozzarella etc. think we have enough now.

Alien - have fun at the club- how is the hand, did the surgery help?
Rich - sorry to hear about your friends, our condolences
Wagtail - Happy birthday and have fun
Bird - happy birthday to Margaret and happy birthday to your neighbor.

I have a wrist slingshot to shoot my throw weights. The longer ones are better, but this one does ok.

Drew - I have a small electric pump you can borrow. I used it to pressurize my solar system. So probably won't need it for a long time period, can use with standard garden hose.

We took the dog to peddlers village last night for her walk, was pretty crowded. Hot wings for dinner baked and use Anchor bar sauce mixed with thai sweet chili sauce. Dog liked the un-sauced ones for a snack :)

HAPPY New Years and hope everyone's 2023 is 100 times better than 2022 was.

These shelves are heavy, maybe will use toggle snaps to put them back up with smaller holes in the blocks. will need to measure up before I put the boards on so I get the anchors lined up with the blocks. Already measured the setup as it was.

Good morning to all! Low of 30°, going up to 45°, partly to mostly cloudy (for now). It's been windy since last night, not too bad so far, hghest gust was 23 mph. High wind warning this afternoon (up to 65 mph) in front of the approaching storm.

It's still a toss up as to how much snow we will get.... starting off as rain, then snow overnight. That'll put that nice ice coating under the snow.....slip sliding away!

Wag(Randy), HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and congrats on 47 years of service!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! To Mrs Bird!

Drew, glad your mouth is feeling better. I bet the soaking will feel good!

Don, that rooster almost looks fake! I guess he likes to impress the ladies!

We have found a solution to trying to stay up late..... since we are originally from the east coast, we celebrate NYE on eastern time -- that way we're only staying up a little longer.... the 2 hours really makes a difference! Besides, the local tv stations here don't show any celebrations anyway.... they just show the syndicated East / West coast feeds.

Menacing looking clouds moving in:

We wish everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year!
Stay safe and don't do anything that you can't explain to the paramedics!

Good morning! 50 now and foggy. 58 is the predicted high with some rain.

Happy birthday Wag and Margaret.

It is the end of the year. Survived another one.

Not sure what I will decide to get into today…..

We slept in, just had a late breakfast. Wife made omelets and bacon she grabbed at Menards. She says we will have more bacon from there, cooked really well, was tasty.

Everyone stay safe out there!
