The operating temperature of this compressor is between

0°C and 40°C (32°F and 104°F).

that's not very wide. Guess I should bring it in. It's a nice tool, quiet, but in unheated garage.
If I don't turn it on while it's below freezing, I didn't think it would hurt to stay out there.
What do you think?

geez, might not be able to take the heat at Ted's house, only goes up to 104.
So does my hot tub.

Wagtail if you see an elephant please take a picture.

So do I , but rain tomorrow. I still got a cough, now looks like wife is getting it, and she’s not happy about that.

Is it Covid-19, Flu, or RSV?

I forgot to mention that I also added outside air intake, which greatly reduces drafts because the fire is consuming air fed by a pipe which comes into the foundation, up through the floor, and into the back of the stove. Well worth the extra effort!

I keep meaning to do that for my pellet stove.

My air compressor is used year round in my shed.

And my sprayers stay in the barn. Might loose one each winter due to freezing.

It really helps! I just used rigid dryer vent tube, a couple elbows, a 4” hole saw, and a hammer&chisel to bust through the block foundation.

I also fashioned a big screen/spark arrestor out of aluminum mesh window screen.

When I had the farm house built I had an outside air vent to the WBS that was controlled by a switch on the wall for opening and closing the vent which was inside the wall. It worked very well and we did not have to leave a window cracked. But it was a pain to replace when the control valve went bad even with an access panel. Should have made a larger access door.

Good morning (evening) to all! Low this morning was only 35°, going up to the low 50's. Unfortunately, windy today. Started about 08:30 --- like a wall of wind.... nothing, then instant 35mph. Gusts to 45 mph.

By 16:30, back to very light breezes. Supposed to cool down this weekend with fairly good chances of showers tomorrow, better chances for rain on Sunday.

Tires got rebalanced, now smooth as glass. The same guy redid them, which made me a little apprehensive, but the manager walked over to him / machine as he did each tire. The manager updated me frequently with the amount amount of weight needed for each, and what he thinks happened the first time.... the guy using the wrong "taper" on the machine to hold the tire.

Still dealing with some personal demons..... combination of working EMS for 20+ years (I've been told probably PTSD), but now not working at all..... plus still dealing with the stubborn knee issues.... well, just getting to a breaking point. It will get straightened out, just need time......

I did get some Christmas lights up yesterday. Nowhere near what usually gets put up. That's ok.... it's quaint.....

Drew, good to hear that the genny worked under "real world" situation. You would be surprised at how much sound gets decreased just by a 3 sided enclosure.
I use my big compressor in the shop all year long, and sometimes it's in the 20's. The portable compressor lives out there too, it's a commercial 'Rol-Aire' and doesn't like to turn over when it gets cold.... anything below 40°.

PJ, sorry to hear that you had to quit early.... but it was a good decision! I am from the same school ---- do the right thing. What your manager asked was definitely unethical for sure!

PopG, that was a nice tree that went down.... maybe a microburst type of wind? Hope cleanup goes well!

Dennis, glad you're feeling a little better! Hope you get over the crud soon!

I had to catch up.... I'm sure I missed some other goings-on....
Hope everyone had a great day!

On our pellet stove, I installed the fresh air intake. The stove has a small fan that brings in the air for the combustion. It will run for a couple minutes before it fires. And it has a powered exhaust.... both must be operating before it fires.

We had a similar "fill the firebox until it overflows" situation the second season we had it ---- 2 months out of warranty. It was the igniter rod. I called the manufacturer (a Canadian company). They sent one free under warranty, I purchased a second one for backup. They are considered a "wear" part.

Just because I bought that second igniter.... well the stove has purred perfectly for 3 more seasons. Figures.....

We purchased this one because it has a thermostat and programable timed fires. During the night, it is usually set to burn for an hour, every 2 hours. The house is super insulated, any more than that and it's way too hot.

I basically wanted the UPS backup to run the controller and exhaust fan in case of a full power outage.

Date went well. We ate a late lunch at a local joint in town called Dairy King, couple of burgers, fried green beans, and fried cauliflower. Yummy. Next, we drove to Harbor Freight to look for a right angle screw driver for her sewing machine. Didn't fine one we liked, but she started browsing, and a few other things followed us home (yes, my Wife likes tool shopping). Stopped at Menard's after that to pick up the ceiling tiles I'd ordered last week. She browsed a bit while I was taking care of that, and found the screw driver she wanted (one of those little "S" shaped ones). Then, off to the theater. Sat in their nice, comfy recliners, and watched Black Adam. Not great, but not bad. Came home after that. We'd planned to have dinner out as well, but neither of us was really all that hungry.

Earlier in the day, The Wife noted that she hadn't seen our LP supplier here in awhile. So, I went out and checked the tank. We were down to 16% left. Our local service had recently been bought out by the local Farm Services (FS), and they apparently didn't acquire the old records regarding refill frequency. When they said they'd put us "on the schedule," The Wife reminded the lady that we were at 16% and it's December. They had someone out in about an hour. 278 gallons later, we're good for awhile now. We pay monthly for an annual plan, and we're locked in at $2.29/gal this year.
