mostly, yes all original fans. I bought it in 2009. It wasn't cheap, but as for fan longevity it is great.
When I replace computers I just get the parts and stuff them in this case. This case is also rigged for water cooling IF I was to go that way.
I am a firm believer in liquids and computers don't get along all that well and one tiny leak can cost me $2,000.oo in computer parts + labour.
what kind of processor do you have in there Bill? Do you upgrade fairly often?
My Dell has an I7-107000 @2.9ghz w/32gb ram (I have almost zero idea what that means)
what do you have big fella?

is there a free test online where you can test the power/throughput of your pc?
I think we got to the point a few years back where my pc went a lot faster than I did or needed.
Particularly now with a SSD.
So no longer a need to upgrade for speed or multitasking

When they make 8k video a reality for pc's, I'll upgrade my video board for that.
I'm in love with 4k on what I think is a 5k monitor.
But for a picture I could literally put my hand in, yes, I'd upgrade for that.
Lot cheaper to do it on your desktop than on your living room wall.

coffee's done, got to get showered and moving. I left the car in the garage so at least it won't be frosted over.
Hope those apples didn't get too cold. Got down to 33 last night inside garage. Probably a degree more in car?
Am glad the apple baskets have plastic inner liners which they tie over the top. Visions of strange bugs flying around in the car on Rt 95...
I found a UFO bug in my sink yesterday, knew it didn't come from here. Came in on something.

learned a long time ago not to swat at bugs while driving. Stop, take care of it, then drive. unless you're real lucky and it's crawling right near the window
where the wind will suck it out. Back you go.

Drinking first cup of very hot coffee. 11° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 26° with partly cloudy skies. I did make it into shop and made parts for Trac-Vac hose support. May spend some time assembling parts today. Will have to clean walkways from snow first. Got about 2" overnight.
Suet cakes are going fast this year. I have about 10 woodpecker's visiting my feeders daily.

Buckeye, get lots of rest and stay hydrated.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, the low temp is 11 and the high to 18°F. Wind W 6 mph. Still snowing.

One of the cats woke me up at 4 and I couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up and will be all ready for daybreak, when I will be plowing.
So far this winter there are only three driveways. This is a good thing. I don't want to go off my little dead end street.
No insurance is my excuse.

daugen, I've got a Asrock Z590 Phantom gaming 4 processor with 128 gigs of ram. My 850 watt power supply feeds it.
In the past I usually wait until it breaks, then fix it with whatever is a step or two up. I have no idea what my video card is, all I know about it is there are two fans on it. I may have to upgrade something this winter, probably the video card. When I have a bunch of tabs open in Firefox AND two instances of the same game running she will crash. I don't loose any data, she just does not want to multitask to that extent.

Have a safe day all

32 going to 41.

Hope you had a great anniversary, Fuddy...wow, 50 years!

Ron, prayers for your BIL and family.

LS, hope your knee is doing better.

BEF, glad you're doing better.

Ron, woodpeckers are fun to watch, and they surely have a pecking order...seems the red-bellieds are the boss here.

Enjoyed a full day in the woods hunting in southeast Virginia with my son yesterday. Getting up at 1am and getting back home at 8pm was not fun, but slept like a log.

Good morning, Cold and windy 24 high of 33 running the basement furnace this morning while the wood fire is coming up.
Ron your pictures are the best!!!!

The furnace is cleaned out and ready for winter. Firebricks are in good shape and overfire air pipes looks good. Lining for the oil fire tube looks good just some minor cracks and the ignitor and transformer was tested and found good.

The question that has been on my mind this morning is what the heck do you do with 77 inches of SNOW???

That would be fun to watch, like the old greased pole kids would try to climb at the fair. Wonder if they still do that. I think the first kid who reached the top won a baby pig.

I just said I noticed an improvement, not over it by any stretch. This morning coughing more again. I now think it was bronchitis or pneumonia starting.

I find a decent I7 laptop does everything I need, including CADD and video editing. I’m not a gamer, although my last desktop had a then top of the line video card for gaming. For gamers they normally change video cards yearly to the latest and greatest.

I recently went thru and destroyed a bunch of old hard drives I had stacked up unused. Need to dispose of some old computer cases. When I’m retired.
