37º going to 70º today. First warm day in a week.
Took advantage of the wet dirt to do a couple of projects with the new Kubota.
Restored the hillside where we had cut a riding arena into it 20 some yrs ago. No longer needed and it made mowing difficult.
And I dug out a parking space next to the detached garage that was built into a slope, for a cargo trailer that had been sitting out in the open.

Popgadget I'm sorry for your loss. What a terrible accident that was.
Isn't that EMT galvanized and thin? Brazing might be best after some cleaning with a wire wheel or such.

Good morning, low was 29 going to 45 today.
Blew out the hoses yesterday that are strung out to water the tree plantings although I don't think it got cold enough to worry about it. Need to water the plantings every 3 or 4 days. They were planted with a good amount of decomposed leaves that will retain water really good.
Keeping an eye on Cody after he had lost his balance for 15 -20 mins. The Vet thinks it could be a reaction to the tick and flee medication so stopped that. He checked his vital signs and complete blood work and it was all fine.
Going to town today to pick up ignition coil that finally came in.
Popgadget, sorry for the loss of your friend.

33F and cloudy @ 08:15, heading up to a high of around 42F. Chance of snow showers this morning.

LWS reports that the overnight low here only reached 32.5F so no hard freeze. That's good - gives us the chance to move some more plants inside today.

Got up early to make the call for pick up of the scissors lift.

Went to refuel it last evening and wanted to verify that I had the right reservoir (they are right next to each other) so checked PDF manual. Pretty sure manual is wrong and has the fuel tank and hydraulic reservoir labels in the diagram swapped/misnumbered. No labels on the tanks themselves, although the doors to the compartment that they are in seem to give a hint.

Unsure when they'll get here, but I figure I got at least an hour to have some coffee and wake up.

Hourly forecast says it should hit 40F by 11:00 so I figure I will wait until then to start the mowing/mulching of the leaves. Really not looking forward to that.

Probably will use the opportunity of having the Cub out of the garage to dig out the kerosene heater. Pretty sure that thing may need a new wick so will have to look into that.

Likely will work some on getting the dust cleaned off of the tools I brought over yesterday and get those brought in the house.

Maybe get pole for the nyjer feeders moved over to the west side.

Hope everyone has a great Monday ... (y)

Good morning! 46˚F cloudy, staying in the 50s and below the entire week. Tempest is down again, seems to only be working after a few hours of sun to charge the battery, new one is still on the way here. I didn't realize how much I would miss it.

Popgadget, condolences to your airline family and his family.

The next day I work it will be 36˚ hmmmm, may have to rethink this if the global warming keeps going in the wrong direction. I did order a holiday warm earflap red plaid cap to wear on the cabless tractor to appear to be in the Christmas spirit.

Vermont (30˚) and Texas (46˚) weather has finally been corrected.

On the agenda today, walk the Whip and help my wife figure out how to give a slide show from her I-pad using conference room equipment for the plant-based meeting this week.

Morning all, 28 going up to 47.
Got some garage cleaning/prep done, Son had girlfriend over.
Pistol lesson delayed as wife still not feeling well, will happen next weekend.

Wife's birthday today, gave her card when she got up, snuck out to get balloon and flowers.

On the way out noticed a very large, dead, buck along the driveway.

When wife returned, she was minus a mirror, hit one of the recycling bins out for pick while driving back.

Already been too interesting a day :-(

Drew- Lucas bit was pretty funny. My fathers 1950 Triumph Thunderbird with Lucas Electrics. Had to rewire most of it, looked like it was done on a Friday after pub time.
Land Rover- Looked at one for the wife many years ago. Headlight kept popping out.
Lady who parked near me at train had one, watched her fill the radiator every evening before driving home.
Friend had one, he saw smoke and when he opened the hood, engine was on fire and he got burned a bit.
Guy I worked with had one. Had the CD and Video option, the whole 5 years he had it, they never got both to work at the same time. He also had headlights self eject. And window motors that would fall off every now and then. He got to know the dealer quite well.

Sodamo- Glad you all got the tractor out without too much damage. You are such a great neighbor.

PopG- so sorry to hear about your friend, our condolences.

Well off to find out how much the mirror replacement costs. Drove out to where she lost it and not found.

21°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 43° today. Should melt most of the remaining snow ... just in time for another 2-3" tonight and tomorrow morning. As Richard pointed out, too early to be getting this much snow here. As much as we need the moisture, just not ready for a snowy season.

Nice work getting your neighbor out of that situation, David. But, that's what neighbors do, right?

Condolences on the loss of your friend, Paul.

Good morning, gents.

Good morning, the low was 22 and the high to 30°F. Wind WNW 11 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

I cant seem to find my laser thermometer. I really wanted to check to see how hot the engine block got on the tractor with it being plugged in for 2 hours before I tried to fire it up. It IS around here, somewhere.

We (junior and I) got the well top moved and spotted where neighbour lady wanted it
We've taken 3 trailer loads of stuff out of here so far to the dump. It appears that over the past 3 years (they've been married 12 yrs) he gave her free reign with the credit card and she spent every nickle (no more pennies up here) of it. Oh well, happy wife, happy life. She's history now. RIP no more pain.

The right front corner of the Dodge is 'marking its territory' and the coolant tank is low. I can't get the pressure cap off, so it will be a trip to the garage before the Dodge goes anywhere other than to the garage. I will call them this morning.

Other than going to the garage I think today will be an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all
Speaking of leaking, The dealer where I took my 26 F150 in for service said that my automatic transmission cooler lines were so rusted that they need replacing. Well that was a bit of a surprise, especially when they told me it would be $1900! so I called the local garage which is only 13 km from my place, and he is going to do it for $500! And that’s with buying OEM parts from a dealer. Wow, what a difference!

26 F150

Check,
first I'd like to see that 1926 F-150, might make an offer on it......
and secondly after all these years, guess you should redo some lines..... ,;)
sounds like real rate vs flat rate.

good trip out, got a nice carwash, they do such a nice job and what a difference having a totally clean windshield.
Nice stop at NAPA, got what I needed, and dropped off apples at friend's home.

now back to see what kind of trouble I can get in.
I really should be transplanting those mums but that will take some energy I need to find.
