Another successful trip to the lot. Long day, long drive. But absolutely gorgeous day. Had lunch at the closest restaurant to the lot, about 1.5 miles away. Was good, nice place.
The lot is somewhere down here, near the base of the mountain, as looking from the blue ridge parkway. I think under 2 miles as the crow flies.
North Neighbor mowing about 60 ft or more onto the lot.
East line down middle of this pic. opps, wrong picture, not the line
We were talking, maybe we will start with a contractor putting up a small house or cabin, a place to go to on weekends. 1-2 BR, 1 bath and small kitchen area, that we can later add onto ourselves once we can stay there. Maybe walkout unfinished basement for storage. Think I’d rather put money towards small cabin first, build it so it’s the one end of future house if we decide to move there. Later build great room, larger kitchen and living area onto it, and master suite on the far end. The initial cabin would be on the end where electric and water enters. Take septic out such that the addition can tie in later.
Another plan, depending on county rules, would be to put in septic and well and electric to a power pole, so we could hook up camper there to use.
Thomas, it was 77° in my family room, so I opened the door to let some of the 49° air in. Down to 66° in here now.
Wingsprd, saw a few hikers on AT down there.
