Good evening all. 9/11 I was in STL, had taken a day of vacation to go watch PGA golf with wife on the last practice day. We were watching the news when first plane flew into the skyscraper. Wife and I were discussing how that could happen when plane #2 hit the second tower, and realized both were deliberate. It was such a sad moment. Hard to believe the mindset it took to fly plane into the towers. And all the first responders getting sick from being downtown trying to help the survivors.
64ºF for the start, overcast, light breeze. Light wind, sky cleared, and high temp was 81ºF. Chapel to start day, made pancakes for breakfast, then put new tube in back tire of Peugeot, put new cabin filter in truck, plugged in battery charger for trolling motor batteries but they did not charge. Also found my good multimeter is MIA, and got a short nap. Watch some Cowboys on TV, going to be a long season for them

David sorry about the debris on the air screens. Glad flail mowing done. Does the flail mower chop up old dead grass?

Beat Roy up, maybe; he's probably up already looking for his supply of masks. Hope you don't get sick Roy.

.30 rain last night, power went off for about five minutes based on having to reset stove clock.

no plans for today other than getting basement ready for painter to come in. 850 bucks to paint basement plus materials and landlord
will split cost with me. Good deal for her.... It's a yukky job, hasn't been done in likely over 40 years, I had no desire to do it and I like to paint.

What I'd like her to pay part of, but not going to work, is the 1700 estimate I got for putting down
3/4 modified on the driveway and rolling it. I have to solve the snowblower problem, not doing another winter of wrecking snowblower on those stones.
I asked about just adding screenings and he stuck with his recommendation of modified and rolling. Ok.

hoping the driveway scraper I ordered for church comes today, that will give me a project for the garage.
I think it weighs too much for me to deal with, though wheels might help.
We have a lot of gravel driveways, small roads back through graveyard and the grass tends to grow over.
We put vinegar on it, and the cycle repeats until it looks so bad we put more gravel on it. Which as usual promptly disappears.
You have to dig it back up and basically recycle it.

This scraper with a couple of heavy cinder blocks on it pulled behind my old Gravely 8199 will be a solution I hope, and about a third the cost
of a decent land plane from EA. Which was four months out or I would have spent the extra money. But why, here's an admittedly lighter weight solution that
is idiot proof in operation, just ride round and round the circled roads. I've had DR equipment before. Real instructions. Nice finish. Nice people to deal with.
Kinda expensive. But truly you get what you pay for. That EA land plane looks mighty nice, one with electric or hydraulic lift for scarifiers would be nice.

61° right now...high in the low 80's

First order of business (once the shop opens) is to find out what the company policy is currently. After that, get the test I reckon. I've had the sniffles all summer, but that's likely an allergy. Stepdaughter is pretty sick.
Once I find out (from our safety engineer) what current policy is, we'll go from there

71 outside this AM. Heading to lower 80's. Took the day off yesterday to re-energize. LOL. Back still hurting, but manageable.

Wife got stuck in a 12 hour trip due to accident on Beltway. Should have been 4 hours. When she gets back home, I am sure she will not be very happy for the next few days. Got to look at them traffic reports when you are on the way to anywhere these days. This area is so busy, one accident can set you back hours.

No rain this morning but lots of fog. Daughter arrived in Vienna Austria yesterday and almost burned down a 5 star hotel because her heating pad went on fire. Going to take wife to the clinic to get her monthly infusion to keep her RA condition in check. I am getting the new booster covid shot later today at our local library

Yes, and my company does...I know of one guy who was suspended for violating the policy (at the time).
