Good Morning,

Busy few days and way behind on this thread again ... catching up

Saturday - friend from highschool was in the area and had a short visit, walk around the property, hit the ice cream place nearby (yikes, the double scoop could have fed the whole family)
Sunday was busy - church, then a lake baptism for 4 people, hung out with buddy as he got ready for new tenant. Then we went boating, fishing (skunked) and rained on
chickens are good
tenants small dog went missing, did not return to the house after being on the property with her ... it doesn't look good, but i checked with neighbour at other end of road. still hoping for the best
Monday - watched the online service Celebration Of Life for my uncle. I wished that I could have been there. It was a nice service. I had a short visit with 6 month old grandson (and his parents :) ) so that was really good.
Tuesday (today) my computer is going in for servicing, repairs upgrade, - the tax program and excel are both challenged, and I use them all the time. Hopefully it is back Wednesday. i'm too far behind as it is, but it seems to say that it is out of memory (not so), so it will need an attitude adjustment
S I L can't find a rental back up North that she can afford, so her solution is to stay here ??? nope, can't happen, but wife isn't home yet either, so the hard talks will follow ... wife should be home in 10 days or so. (way too long)

still catching up ... only 12 pages to go :)

one good way to catch up is Mostly's post Scaredy.
always good to ask to be taken off injured list...

as expected hot tub was turned off, back on, almost immediately to 104.
I had left it on all night for first time. Definitely hotter than before, had a nice soak.
going to order that electricity monitor, see if I'm worried about nothing based on actual amp draw
Pump makes a slight hum I can hear in bedroom, as long as it heats up pretty quickly from around 96 where it seems to drop to
overnight, think I'm better just turning it off each night. Too bad it doesn't have a timer though not hard to add

riptides - I am also in a season of waiting...

- waiting for wife's return from assisting her father up North, 8 hours away. was supposed to be 7-10 days, that was months ago
- waiting for my tires, rims from my buddy (since May)
- waiting for the zero turn cub cadet mower --- dealer had a heart attack and open heart surgery, fabrication not yet done (since May) - I may ask them to assemble it and deliver, I think that I can get the fabricating done (hand controls, grab bar etc) by a friend
- waiting for clients to sign off and pay for taxes and bookkeeping (yay for invoicing)
- waiting for some friends with greater mechanical expertise to assist me with a few vehicle matters (son in law has the parts now)
- waiting (not really, just no time given current circs) to find my garage and workbench back ... I need that organized and accessible

I was able to get to some yardwork, have a load of yard waste to go to the dump

I decided NOT to put my name in for Regional Director elected position (a 4 yr term), part time gig, reasonable pay ... too much going on and unknown right now. I think I could do a decent job, when all the plates stop spinning. Perhaps next local election.

riptides - your dump run efforts look clean and organized, mine are typically a dirty smell mess of a load, and the recycling takes a bit of extra time

daugen - yes, I found the mostly_gas summary cheat sheet a few months ago ( I love it, very helpful) Kudos to mostly_gas. Sounds like you are enjoying the hot tub adventures

kenmbz - your pool helper looks like a garter snake

Good Morning
68 and going all the way to 70 today. Rain started late yesterday afternoon and is continuing until this evening. Almost 2” so far, but it’s been at a very manageable rate, no deluge so far.

Yesterday was a lazy day visit from Drew first thing, some puttering around, tweak a couple of gates at the wife’s request.

Lunch was pulled pork again, youngest son and fiancé attended as well as oldest son. After lunch we all sat around the pool until it started to rain. Oldest son made pizza for dinner in outdoor oven over a wood fire.

It was quite tasty, and a nice end to the day.

About to head out to breakfast with the professor now. Have a project in the shop when I get back.

scaredy, my next older brother just retired as CPA, accounting in our home town for 40+ years.
He was showing me his Rolex watch last week, saying he had a fun story on it.
He did a lot of work for someone, perhaps a jeweler, who owed a ton of taxes, and my brother kept the penalties down to a minimum.
When time to pay the bill, I have no money.
But
Take this please,
hands over Rolex.
Brother was pissed, but left with some dignity, sure it was a fake.
Took it to local jeweler, real Submariner. Worth about five times what his bill was.

Popgadget, I want to get stuck on a deserted island with you (and a few others) seems you can not only fix everything but you can cook too!
The smokey flavor of your pulled pork was medium strong, added a wonderful overtone to the pork.

Paul and Ken both got a couple of my non noteworthy tomatoes and a green pepper. Couple of prize tomatoes coming up, almost one pounders.

going to pick up a packet of red radish seeds and plant some for the Fall.

1.20 inches and coming down steadily.

More rain in the forecast for the next several days. I think that taking it easy and be mostly indoors will be the plan.
The new raised seam roof on the log cabin is earning its keep and will protect the 225 year old cabin for many years to come beyond my lifetime.
The county researched the history of the farm and it is an interesting read going back to the first German immigrant that established a 200 acres farmstead.
Traded the old Unimog military truck for the roofing work.IMG_0226.jpeg

that's one very cool truck, like our Jeep on serious steroids

and now I get to have my first jackfruit for lunch. Yes, Don's ears will go up.
And figured I'd better show the ingredients before question rose. Looks like some no no oils in there,
and lots of gums. Stuff to gum up our food, I guess hold it together.
going to have sausage and peppers sandwich.

oh dear, two grams of added sugar. That's not good. Why not pick something else?

Now that I have lunch planned on to something else...

67°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 81° today. Chance for some light drizzle throughout the day, says a voice on the radio.

Back to work today. Got about 1/2 mile from the house this morning and my low tire pressure indicator came on. Turned around and went back. Left front tire was down about 8psi. Aired it back up and didn't hear any hissing. Need to keep an eye on that. I'm due for new tires anyway.

Happy Birthday to your stepdaughter, Mostly_.

Good morning, gents.

btw pretty sure there is a replaceable battery in UPS. These things never seem to last very long for me.

I just bought 2 replacement batteries for an UPS at church. The last ones lasted 4 yrs.
I have 3 at home dead right now.

We got over 2” rain since midnight.
