Agenda for the day ... Car Shows or Bookkeeping ?

Sadly, today it is Bookkeeping ... then critter care, mucking out the rabbit hut etc. I wanted the fun day today - oh well.

69°F and .01 inches rain.

Hope to get my new bracket finished today. My hand cut slots (drill & cutoff) a bit rough and need some dressing up then hopefully my friend Mark will weld. This would be a good case for having the right tools and the skills to use them. Can think of several GM folks I wish were close neighbors

Functional vs pretty. My goal at this point.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

As long as you're wishing, you might as well wish for one with a machine shop in their garage, too! 🤣🤣🤣

But why stop there? Why not wish for a few million bux? And while you're at it, immortality?

But why bother? After all, you already live in paradise, and share it with an angel...👍🏻

83F and (supposedly) "Fair" @ 13:00, HI 85F, DP 67F Heading up to a high of around 87F. 24% chance of precipitation with the possibility of a stray shower or thunderstorm. Rain chances increase to 58% tonight.

Fuel situation was good, but will need to head down to the corner at some point today.

Swapped out bucket for pallet forks and relocated the pine logs over to the east side of the compost/wood lot.

Also got the pile of split oak from near the edge of the woods moved up to a little closer to the shop, mainly because it had weeds growing up around it ... so now should be a little easier to access and get palletized.

Got front lawn all mowed. No action on the last 10% down here around the house.

Several bucketloads from the remaining junk wood pile moved down to the woods, no stings ... but the Yellowjackets were still there. Pile is pretty small at this point, would like to get it finished up today but we'll see.

Previously screened material ran through the screener again, mostly cleaned up at this point.

Agenda for today:

Relocate soil screen.

Try to get the rest of the junk wood pile moved.

Finish running landscape rake over compost/wood lot.

Swap out landscape rake for tiller and till up the area for the food plot. May need to refuel the Kubota in order to be able to do that since it consumes a good deal more fuel @ 2000 rpm.

Get the seed for the food plot sown.

Run down to the corner for fuel.

Post Office just delivered Woman's order of good-smelling bar soaps for Amazon + plus some Castile liquid soaps (Peppermint and Tea Tree oils) for bug juice and a little hand sprayer to put it on the plants.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday ... (y)

RNG, forgot to respond. I put the standard end in the kit on the grease gun and it worked so well I never tried the right angle or slide on versions.

happy anniversary LS.
Pug wanted out for a pee at 4.00 am. Didn't mind as I was awake anyway. Had practically no sleep at all due to finger shoulder pain. Finger getting worse fast. Hopefully Dr can get the process moving. Looks like I will be spending Sunday catching up with sleep.
Ziggy (Pug) is sleeping on my bed lately now I'm in the other room. He sleeps better and he is good company. Spike sleeps in her room and the other 2 sleep in the back laundry.
Had a nice Saturday at the club flying my Tiger 3 Plane with 21cc Gas engine. Very relaxing plane to fly.
Weather has been fabulous lately. Finally getting some jobs done that my hands allow.
Seems like big aeroplanes have more problems than my models. :) Glad he got his throttle sorted before he took off. Could have been pretty scary. That happened to one of the guys models one day and he had to keep flying at full throttle until his plane ran out of gas.
Have a nice Saturday you lot.

New Zealand going through serious flooding
so many parts of the world seem to be flooding
hope our hurricane season is an easy one like last year.
No more Galvestons or New Orleans

I put 5 more gallons of water in the basement. Now I need to put some canned food there.
What could be better than Spam?
Vegan spam of course.
I wonder if it comes canned like Spam. Must have a fraction of the fat grams.

I haven't had Spam in so many years I can't count. Fried it's quite a heart attack on a sandwich.
But likely better than than Scrapple for you. Maybe not much. Life's little treats. Don't forget your statins.
barbecued vegan spam. I'd like mushrooms and lentils in mine.

68F and a rain shower @ 19:00, heading down to a low of 67F overnight. Calling for around 0.42" of precip tonight and another 0.29" tomorrow day and 0.22" tomorrow night.

Made decent progress today, although I'm completely covered in dust at this point.

Soil screen and screenings relocated first thing (yes - it's portable !):

More raking done + more of the junk wood pile moved to the woods, this is all that's left:

IMG_1959 copy.jpg

Barely a bucketload ... but they're still swarming around it so I know the comb/nest is still in there.

All the junk wood that was moved and piled up along the edge of the woods:

Oak and pine logs that were saved for firewood:

Pile of split oak that was relocated so it can be palletized (and rain moving in):

Ran down to the corner and picked up some gas for the Cub and diesel for the Kubota, refueled the 'Bota before I started tilling ...

Food plot area after two passes with the tiller:

Was just about finished with the third pass when the rain started coming down pretty good so I called it quits and headed for the barn.

Not too much left to do in terms of prep, other than recover those Ohio "glacial potatoes" ... of which there are easily a bucketload and maybe grade it out with the landscape rake.

All in all a decent day production-wise.

Woman brought me a hot sausage sandwich and salad from the local pizza joint.

Will eat and then grab a shower to get the crud off.

Hope everyone had a great Saturday ... (y)
