68F and mostly cloudy @ 07:00, heading up to a high of around 76F with a 95% chance of precipitation. Scattered thunderstorms in the morning and then thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Locally heavy rains possible. Similar weather on tap for tomorrow with somewhat higher temps (80F)
LWS reports we got 0.21" here yesterday and another 0.17" since midnight. Weather guessers predicting we could get as much 2.25" through Monday which would be welcome.
Got 2 dump cart loads of screened compost hauled down to that new planting bed underneath the maple tree and placed first thing yesterday. Probably will need several more.
Mowed most of front lawn before rain started, was able to get it finished up after rain stopped.
Moved most of the Shasta Daisies around back, also some other plants.
Got most of the eastern edge of the flower bed mulched.
Planted the "Cherry Berry" and "Raspberry Sundae" hostas in that new planting bed under the big maple.
Harvested a couple more zucchini from the garden. Should have some Yellow Crookneck in the next day or two.
Warmed up some spaghetti for dinner.
On agenda for today:
Cut some more 2' tall chickenwire and make up more cages so I can get more pepper plants out of their pots and into the ground. These ones are fairly small (6" - 8" tall) Or maybe get the eggplants in (also small)
Noticed some nipping on one of the smaller tomato plants in a pot around back up next to the house, suspect it might be chipmunks (there were 5 of them around the bird feeder yesterday) so will need to refill and rebait the trap back there.
Replace bag on Japanese Beetle trap. Wasn't quite full yesterday, but it's been out there long enough now that it will be stinkin' ... which will repel them if it's not changed out.
Finish up staining shelf for The Woman's aquarium planter stand. Plantings in there are looking pretty good:
Do a little watering of some plants which are under the overhangs which aren't getting any rain.
Make up a new batch of fresh juice for the hummers, bring in feeder and wash it, then refill. Will be the first time it's been refilled this year.
Trip to other hardware store to see if I can find an o-ring for that one hand sprayer pump.
Finally: spend some time up in the shop working on the B2910.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday ...
