Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #152,791
Good late (Friday) morning. Mild overnight low of 8C, overcast with a stiff breeze. 0.3mm in the gauge at 0900. Predicted high may be 12C with strong wind and showers. Presently 10.6C.

That's about it... I'll soon need to put a new round of hay out for the agisted horses, but that's up to the owner as we'll probably need to set up a 'new' paddock. Of course that will mean Tractor Fun for me as I'll need to chain harrow the paddocks that they're in now.

Just got a 'call' for someone needing furniture from the Church... I'll meet up with her at 1400. There's practically been a call every day = it's a wonder that there is anything available at this rate. Or, maybe it's a 'that time of the year' thing.

Take care all.

68F and "Fair" @ 22:30, heading down to a low of 63F overnight. High temp today was 84F.

Hopper feeder and suet feeder filled first thing.

All those Orienpet lilies were still there this morning, even better: all were blooming.

Ordered a couple of Rubbermaid single-step stools from Amazon which The Woman said had previously been "just perfect" to use while weeding. Back before ours broke I was a fan as well.

Then mixed up 2 gallons of glyphosate and started spraying what will be the expanded garden area. Did that for a while but it was fairly breezy so I switched off to mowing.

Got the entire front yard mowed.

Hosta has now filled in on the back side of the shop, pretty much choking out all the weeds:

This guy was out grazing up by the road, didn't seem too perturbed by me on the mower ... kind of sauntered along ahead of me, stopping occasionally to top some weed he found tasty:

Woman ran out to grocery store to pick up a few items while I was mowing.

After She got back She worked on making up 2 gallons of liquid critter repellent using garlic powder, cayenne, and putrified eggs. It will probably need a couple of days to get good and ripe.

After mowing was time for dinner, Woman made Sloppy Joe's and hash browns ... I had two ... (y)

Then back to spraying. Was still somewhat breezy but not quite as bad, I'd just stop for a bit whenever the wind picked up. Used the rolling garden seat which worked well and saved me from having to bend over to minimize drift. Got probably 80% of the un-tarped area done, used either 4 or 6 gallons.

Neighbor friend came by while out walking her dogs and she and The Woman visited out front (since I was spraying in the back)

Woman decided to weed around the west peach tree while She waited for her to stop by.

She had that mostly done by the time I discovered She wasn't in house and started looking for Her. I ended up helping Her finish it up and then hauled the weeds up to the compost pile and brought the equipment back to the house.

Made up another 2 gallons of glyphosate premix before moving the plants into the garage and closing things up.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

rswyan: This guy was out grazing up by the road, didn't seem too perturbed by me on the mower ... kind of sauntered along ahead of me, stopping occasionally to top some weed he found tasty:

That happens to me whenever I'm mowing/mulching a horse-paddock; plovers (lapwings) will happily wander around me and my mower eating any insects that are scared up. But as soon as I stop and get off the mower, they react as if I've magically appeared! "WHAAA! Where did you come from!!!"

Once I'm back on the mower it's as if nothing happened. o_O

Success

Had a Hallelujah Moment Tonight. After another 4 hours working on the drain clog my friend and I were able to clear it out. What an ordeal. The power auger did nothing, drano did nothing, drain snake did nothing, plunger did nothing. The clog was solid, probably 2-3 feet long in the 1.5 inch pipe. Finally we tried a shop vacuum for 25 min, from below AND the plunger from above ... eventually it gushed out, mostly caught in a bucket. Stenchy, clumpy, goo with lots of hair, sand, grease, and food stuffs. I hope to never do that again. Plunger and drano is reasonable after this ordeal.

Thanks All

65 going up to 80 today in clouds
need to go to local bank to put a memory card with church's graveyard database into our safe deposit box.
For almost 400 years our records have been paper, constant worry all would be lost in a big fire.
Now data is safe.
When my picture taking project is done, with the drone work being done this Sunday, someone someday will synchronize it all.
Not on my watch. My job was to protect the data, for the first time.

having lunch today with friend on school board. Summer is quiet time, not many meetings, though I'm on Finance and we look at stats each month.
We are meeting at coffee shop in downtown New Hope, where parking is very hard to come by. I'll leave early to hunt a spot. For thirty years they've talked about
building a parking garage and never have. Place gets mobbed on weekends and summers.

toppop,, hang in there and get better.

yes, my trip to Popgadget's was postponed. Neither one of us wants to get sick, for sure. Prayers for his wife's fast recovery.

friend sent me the video on how to get the old golf cart steering wheel off; two hidden screws I didn't see.
Might fiddle with that this morning.
I'm sure that fancy steering wheel will add at least 1mph to speed......... ;)

good morning all and have a great Friday.

a question for you electrical geniuses...

I know golf carts have a limiter for speed. I don't want to go fast, though I have friends that had to buy a new cart because they were embarrassed by little old ladies flying by them.
I'd like more climbing power. Can electric motors be "hopped up" even a little like car engines? If one were to increase amp draw by several amps, which may or may not be currently adjustable, and was willing to give up battery life to do so, how does one do that? Club Car precedent 48V, 6 batteries.
I guess I should search youtube videos for this, likely some motorhead has hopped up his golf cart by now.

I'm aware that more heat can be very destructive to electronics.
let's say I'm trying to overclock this chip a little.

maybe....higher rear end ratio, say like going from a 3.10 to a 4.11. Hmmm, does it even have that?
