Good morning!!!!

55°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 87° today. Rain moving through tonight and tomorrow. Warm for the rest of the week (near 90°), then low 70s for highs over the weekend.

Went to Highland yesterday evening to buy the Silver Lake boat permits for our kayaks. $20/each for a year, and we'll probably go paddle there half a dozen times this summer. Well worth it for a place close to home. Got to see the new municipal building they recently opened. Pretty nice place. Much bigger than the old police station. They have an old horse-drawn fire apparatus on display in the lobby, very nicely restored.

Nice kitty pics, fellas.

I'm kind of in agreement with others, Roy. Seems like if there was over a gallon of water in the tank, that thing wouldn't want to run well at all. That's a lot of water.

Morning all, sun is out and over 60 deg. Had some more rain, but no flooding.
But I bet lower field is still a marsh for now.

Booster shot last night, wiped out today. Should be ok tomorrow.

Stay safe and be well,

Dog is not amused by the flowers.

In the small world arena, my passenger was going to a board meeting at Enstrom Helicopter, which was shuttered after being run into the ground by the previous Chinese investors. It was purchased by Chuck Surack, the founder of Sweetwater music.

Good morning to all! Low of 48, going up to 84°. Clouds cleared out by early afternoon yesterday, then it got warm.

Didn't get to work on the privacy fence, probably today / tomorrow. They are expecting the winds to kick back up on Thursday, I would like to get it done beforehand.

There are a couple of areas around the older trees in the backyard that need attention.... the string trimmer did have a walk over there a few days ago, but there is more work to get done on them. Mainly adjust the irrigation lines and spread a bunch of mulch.

Forgot to get a picture of the new lights on the fence..... they were on when we remembered to look at them..... as we were going to bed.

Definitely need to replace a tree and a shrub that didn't make it through the winter. Might pull them out today. Wifey has been researching substitutes on line this morning..... I wonder how much this is going to cost.....

Everyone have a great day!

I hope those people listen to Chuck, because there's a man who knows how to run a successful company. If there's a better music equipment buying experience on this planet than Sweetwater, I have not found it.

Apparently forgot to post this last night ... so here it is now:

57F with clear skies, high hit 73.9F for the day ... which is a welcome relief from the 88F we had yesterday. Generally mostly sunny skies today, but we did have a thunderstorm roll through this afternoon. Did not get a whole lot rain with it, mainly just wind.

LWS shows we got 0.16" of rain overnight though, wouldn't be surprised if it was actually more than that.

Not certain where we're at on rainfall, but I have seen some cracks in the ground in a few places so I'm sure we can use it.

Worked to the point of literal exhaustion yesterday ... and then found I could not get to sleep ...

So late start for the day.

Managed to watch a few videos on how to avoid killing off tender seedlings which was good. Surprising in that I could only get the internet to stay connected for a couple of minutes at time ...

Seems better this evening though.

It was too wet to really do much outside, so I headed up to the shop this afternoon for further work on the Kubota and general clean up. But not before I called the local dealer and order a couple of o-rings, a seal, and some grommets. Made some progress.

Found another shovel head up in the shop that needs a handle, so added that to the Menards cart.

Ran down to one of the local pizza joints for dinner: got the hot sausage sandwich (with sauce and Romano baked on) and a garden salad. Turns out Squeak has a taste for Newman's Own Blue Cheese Dressing ... who could have imagined ???

Put the extra bird food that didn't fit the other day into the hopper feeder after dinner, was almost empty.

Was fairly unhappy the other day when I opened the bag of Schultz "Moisture Retaining" Potting Soil (with fertilizer) from Menards. Figured it would be a finely-textured mix that would be suitable for starting seeds in. Not even close. Looked more like something a customer had stuck in the bag and returned for credit (the bag had been opened and was taped shut) Looked like it had a lot of fairly decent-sized chunks of wood mulch in it. Very different from the bag of Miracle-Gro potting soil I picked up for The Woman last year.

Pro-tip for order-pickers working in Customer Service: probably not best to pick an already opened bag for a customer's order if you can avoid it. Just leave it there and let a in-store customer who is picking their own order select it. The company will somehow survive ... even if you don't off-load the already opened product on an unsuspecting customer.

At any rate, I have both perlite and vermiculite here, so I think I'll do a little further experimenting as far as making up my own. Have noticed that using the plastic starter trays seems to pose less of issue than the peat pots as far as things drying up.

Probably going to be a fairly laid back evening tonight, maybe stick a load of wash in the machine, do a little kitchen cleanup (Woman is due to fly back late tomorrow ... ;)) maybe mess with plants.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

66°F and .07 inches rain.

Installed the new Scag key switch and it started right up 🤙
Got some flail time before what turned into a quick shower got very tall and thick grass too wet and would choke out the mower. Slow progress overall.

Back out there today. I do have to make a PO run as my eye meds are due in.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

65F and sunny @ 12:30, calling for a high of 66F which I think we'll beat. Current soil temp is 66F, 24-hour average is 62.8F. More rain in the forecast for tomorrow PM.

Got laundry done last night and lots of kitchen clean up, didn't mess any with the plants.

Internet is back to screwing up today.

Going to see if I can report it without having to make a call to Rajneesh ... although I like talking to Raj very much, can't say I care a lot for the script he has to follow.

Going to work on mixing up starter potting soil today and see about transplanting some seedlings into larger containers. Pepper and tomatoes mainly, possibly an eggplant or two. Will also see if can locate some General Purpose Miracle-Gro fertilizer and figure out the ratio to mix up a small batch for the seedlings.

Also see about fertilizing The Woman's dahlias. Package says 1 tsp per on flowering plants - which seems really low to me, given the size of the plants. This is not water-soluble fertilizer that you mix up ... it's granules that you sprinkle on and is supposed to last for up to 9 months.

Beyond that I might dig a few hosta and get them planted in places that need something.

Then maybe some mulching.

As always: plans subject to change without notice ...

There was a tray setting on a square pot in the dining room that was tipped over last night and I was accusing Squeak in my mind of being responsible for that ... until I picked it up and saw that the Caladiums that were planted in the square pot had come up to about 6" - 8" tall and apparently pushed the tray over.

Parts for the Kubota are due in on Thursday, and Weather Underground is calling for a high of 92F on Friday ... so highly likely that I'll have the AC on in the shop and be inside working on the tractor. Got the gear oil drained out of the front axle yesterday, so it will be ready for tear down once I get it installed back on the tractor.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Tuesday ... (y)

RS, had to look up that squash. Look at the size of those pink bananas...

View attachment 746073

... they're monsters ...

Looks like he might have picked all of them except the one a little too early though.

If ours end up mostly germinating and making we're gonna have a snotload of PBJ's ...

Hope they're good.

On the BP, yeah it was a good number.

Can't day I reccomend taking the route I took to get there though ... ;)
