There is a reason that long sleeve flannel shirts are popular in New England year round !

Had a blow up with the boy Friday night. Instead of concentrating on fixing the two non-running trucks he already has, he came home with a third vehicle, a VW Jetta. I lost it. Sat him down in the kitchen and laid into him regarding his unacceptable behaviors. I set goals for him, two of which needed to be met before the weekend was over, or things were going to get ugly. He got upset, his mom got upset ... it was not a fun conversation. Bottom line, though, by midday Saturday someone showed up with a wad of cash and took away the S-10 with the blown transmission, and by noon on Sunday he was carrying bags full of trash out to the can. Mission accomplished. He even got up early today and left the house at 5am to go to work early (he's always late). He apparently just lacked the proper motivational speech.
Over the years, you've been a lot more patient than I could have been, hearing of all his foibles. I guess getting your ZRT stuck (even with new tires), then rutting your yard, took almost all of your nerves, except for the very last one....and darnit if he didn't step on that one last one...I had to give my son a "stern" talking to this past weekend. Seems he always tries to come up with excuses when it is time to do some chores....

Doug, glad 51% wifey is alright! Sounds like something I would've done in my younger years. My wife remembers trying to start our smaller 40cc chainsaw, holding it in one hand while pulling with the other....Fortunately it did not start, because she had yanked it down onto her thigh. She realizes how fortunate she was. She hasn't used a chainsaw in almost 20 years now.

Where's Eric?

good one Helogabals. Is Latvia full of "blondes"? Over here, you have to look at their eyebrows to tell what natural color they are. Some say the carpet doesn't match the curtains. Nice green house.

my 14yo daughter (with autism) does not get out much, but we took her to a restaurant, Walmart, and grocery store last Friday and Saturday, and today she is sick with 102+F fever and vomiting. Hoping it's not alligatoritus, there is flu going around. She has been doing so well lately from a mental perspective. Very few outbursts.

Pop, yes I made the adapter plate quite unconventionally on the CNC mill. I use MasterCam, and I even thread milled the threaded holes in lieu of tapping them. helical interpolation with a thread form cutter that only cuts 1 pitch, you just interpolate it from the bottom up, and it climbs 1 pitch for each revolution. Then to stay unconventional, I cut the keyway in the tapered bore on the manual lathe, using the taper attachment. :)

Here's a video describing the keyway cut, but I have to warn you, it was impromptu, and done at the last second before I pulled the part out....so my narrative is slow while I'm holding the camera and reaching for the handles....

Old Lucas electronics....yuck
New Lucas electronics....still probably yuck.

Drew, you can make a roundup solution in a small pump up sprayer with a wand, then wrap a rag around the spraytip, using string or good rubber bands, to use as a wick to delicately wipe some roundup on the individual weeds. Get a long enough wand to not bend over too much. You just need to keep it damp enough to wick, but not so saturated that it is dripping. Maybe a teaspoon of Dawn to act as surfactant mixed in.

WE FINALLY GOT RAIN, YEA!!! about 1.41" Garden is loving it. And the temp is down to 60F. Nice and cool for a day. Some places got 4"+, but some got less than me.

I already have small green tomatoes the size of a .25 cent quarter.

Good early afternoon... 11C overnight and currently 16.6C, calm with a bit of rain just starting. It's predicted to really start raining over the next couple of days which will be great for my tanks.

Managed to stay awake last night 'til 2100 (after the 0230 start). Thankfully my *****-beast (Penelope) came in at 2030 so I was able to toddle off to bed. I did, guiltily, sleep in this morning 'til 0830!

Got a call from the Community Garden to use my tractor's bucket to fill the (hopefully) last of the raised garden beds a week from today (Tuesday).

That's about it... take care all.

good evening all. 52ºF for the start, overcast, windy, 4.1 inch in rain gauge. Windy most of day, Sky became partly cloudy, and high temp was 67ºF, DP 41ºF. Bike ride in morning, LW#2 closed due to water to high over the road, got 2 laps in anyway. Into town for lunch and shopping, then nap after groceries put away.
Doug sorry about the wife's fall. Didn't you just post about her trying to do too much? Glad no lasting injuries except concussion. After all she did claim ownership of chainsaw, only wives not in there right mind would claim chain saw ownership ;)

Do you have a pic of the community garden's raised bed?

Good evening 58˚F, a cool front blew in but we only had .33" of rain. I was driving most of the day and the heaviest rain was on the East side of Giddings. Got Mom's eyes examined and a new pair of glasses is on order. The eye Doctor's office still requires mask surprisingly.

Also dropped off some used EGO batteries off at Kyle's so he can determine if he has repaired the EGO Mower.

I did call the garage door people out to replace Mom's broken garage door spring. Even the pro got hurt putting the new tension spring in and had to leave with a bloody hand and have a co worker come out and finish the job. The co-worker was also jinked when the garage door opener's capacitor exploded, but at lest he did not get injured.

Ended the day loosing 4 of 5 games of hand and foot. I am doing terrible this quarter.

We just got a phone warning from TX Warning Control center that the towns water treatment plant has malfunctioned and to stop using all water (but it is still safe to drink).

Thanks guys. Wife is doing ok. Massive bruises here and there. I told her I am going to report her to her son and his partner. She is always putting me in it so now it is her turn. :)

We are in for a lot of rain this winter. More than ever before apparently. We rarely get rain in the winter. It is usually summer storms that bring the rain. Lots of odd changes going on.

Hi

We have both "blondes" and blondes :)
I would say most popular hair color here is sand-gray-brown. Like mice :)
Somehow our women doesnt like that "mice color" and are dying like hell.

But here are a significant part of natural blondes too. It comes together with blue eyes.
BTW I have read an article stating that blue eyes are anomaly. But it is so common in north because blue eyes precept more light. Basically blue eyed person sees better in poor light. And there are chances that such person will suffer less from depression caused by darkness
